Borderlands 2 Catch-All

FWIW, I didn't reboot after the .net install and everything worked just dandy.

Have you tried to play since then? I think it will just keep installing .net every time you load it up unless you delete that folder.

Woo managed to sneak in an hour this morning before work. Peasant I'd like to hop on when you do, but usually the wife wants attention at that time, so I'll see if I can hop on at like 0900-0930 EST.

Because I always fall behind in these coop games, I'll just push ahead as far as I can when I solo, and folks are welcome just to hit me up to join. I don't mind nerfing myself to play in a group (using more equivalent level weapons / use ablities less, etc).

I fixed my .NET problem by uninstalling the framework manually. Then I let Borderlands 2 reinstall it.

Hoping to get on around 8 tonight for my first look. Anybody up for co-op (pc) around then?

Is there any loot associated with having a BL1 save on your machine? I reformatted recently and don't have 1 installed.

I should be on at 8 eastern.

What time zone Flaming? I haven't fired it up yet so I'm looking to group with someone just starting.

He said Eastern

I'm only level 6, but want too get into co-op. I would either start another character or replay areas.

I won't be on as early as 7 central, though. Probably somewhere between 8 and 9 central.

I'm shooting for 8EST, but that also depends on the wife. As of last night she stated she planned to go to bed immediately following the children which should put me in the clear.

Is there any in game chat or is Ventrilo the preferred method?

Oh, and Handsome Jack is an asshole. As in, they did a great job writing him, because he really feels like a legitimate dick. I look forward to setting him on fire.

Not much just veteran skins.

I really like the vet skins, especially the helmet. Used that on my zero last night.

PC report based on 1 hour: My 560ti handles 1920x1200 with no problems at all. It ramps up the fans, but it does that for Borderlands 1, Skyrim and Minecraft too. There's no framerate dip at all so far and loading is very quick.

Also, the PC menus and UI are great! So far the optimization seems great.

Flaming did not

Crap. See you friday.

Join me in the cheapskate corner!

Until then, we can occupy ourselves with this:

http://www.gamesradar.com/borderland...

12th person in line at the local Gamestop last night - was back home and on my 360 by 12:15am

Did some couch co-op with the roommate, and one of our other friends literally just DROPPED IN around 12:45am, turned it off around 2:15 am (just outside Sanctuary's gates) and we were all up to level 8.

SUPER FUN TIME!

BTW - added myself to the 360 List and sending out some invites in a moment.

If you're stuck in a .net install reboot loop delete the "redist" folder from here

Thanks that did it.

Like others, I canceled to get it to stop last night, but it started trying to install again when i tried to start it this morning.

Well after about 20 minutes of play (7 actual gameplay) I can confirm it is scratching that same old Borderlands itch. I am playing Maya and have about 9 kills on my belt.

note: I skipped the .net reboot too. Though I am not looking forward to reinstalling .net every play session. I'll have to look into deleting the redist folder.

I'm about 90 minutes in, did all of that with 3 friends. So far, it is a better, shinier, well-written sequel to Borderlands. I am pleased.

Has anyone mentioned the music yet? Because I was really digging the music in a few spots so far. Stupid work day making me earn real moneys instead of virtual guns. Grrrr.

I ended up with a copy of this for free a while back when I picked up a video card, but opted to sleep and not be a shambling shell of a human this morning at work.

If anybody wants to run some coop this afternoon I'll be on steam.

Oh sweet. I got my Gearbox weapons when I started up today too.

Not great once you're above level 7 or 8 probably. But as good as some of the level 4/5 weapons. And the only Sniper Rifle I've seen yet was the Gearbox one. Would have really helped if I had got those last night when I started.

Hopefully the rest of my characters will properly start with those.

Anyway I highly recommend the early "find recordings quest." One of the rewards I was able to choose for that is

Spoiler:

a pistol which lets me throw it as an on-contact grenade every time I reload. Seriously I may not use another gun until I can find the same one in a higher level. It's ridiculous fun.

Does every character start with a "Personal Item" in their inventory? I swear I clicked on it a few times early on and then ignored it in frustration. A wayward click a few levels later it started playing an audio recording and disappeared.

Zer0 did for me. Creepy motherf*cker, too.

Should have mentioned... I'm playing Zer0. Also! Soundtrack is on Zune! Finally something to validate maintaining that damn subscription.
These last four hours are going to drag!

So the early consensus on Zer0 is that he's a good character?

Think I'm gonna go solo with him.

Double dip is complete. Just ordered a new GTX660, free borderlands 2 copy, and the x360 version is on the way. I am very weak willed.

Well obviously everyone's the same until level 5. The stealth seems ok to start. Very reminiscent of the Siren last game, but it's short, only 5 seconds base. Early on it's just great for going in and melee-killing one guy. Nothing spectacular yet. Looking at the trees I expect it to get better.

I might be picking up a 680 after Friday so I might have an extra copy of BL2, assuming they're still included, that I'd let go for a song. Currently I'm still hashing out the sequence of upgrades I'm planning but $30 for a spare BL2 copy might push me to replace my 460 SLI setup first.

Can I have an invite to the Steam group "Gamers With Jobs -Boarderlanders"

Steam name: Icarus Daedalus

Thanks

Invited!

It took me a while to figure out how best to use the gunzerking ability. It's fun but ammo is going to be a major concern unless I spend points on the skills that mitigate ammo consumption.

The in-game voice chat seems to work really well.

Invite me to Borderlanders, too? RobearGWJ.

There is a quote from Randy Pitchford a while back saying that while in split-screen mode you can play online but only with on other person due to processing power reasons. However, I just read in the Co-optimus review that you can do 4 player with 2 consoles online. That will be very cool if true.

Can't find you. Can you provide a link to your profile?
