Will you be able to stay your hand? I know I won't be able to resist :)

Is the game region locked to release in certain countries first?

I just checked and... apparently not for Hong Kong! Sorry Australia!

Ugh, unskippable cutscene for story that I don't care about. Just let me shoot things.

myself and FuzzBallx have a group going, 2 slots available. Central to West Coast players. Just shoot me a steam invite or join in if im on your list. steamid: Goldensly

A quick 45 minutes and I like what I see so far!

After playing about 10 hours of the original over the past week, what's immediately obvious is in the details of everything. From the UI, to the motion of enemies, to the textures on the crates, to the feel of the shooting, to the genuinely funny writing... Remember that game that game that came out a couple of years ago that just about everyone liked? It just got a huge layer of polish about anywhere you could ask for it, and all new content to boot!

But then, bedtime.

I'll be on tomorrow afternoon.

How does that work? Is the game region locked to release in certain timezones earlier?

Bah! Bah I say! 1 day and 9 hours to go here still. So basically 2 days! Unacceptable!

... VPN trick it is.

Ugh. Within 15 minutes of playing I cleared a section apparently I wasn't supposed to so now I can't complete a mission because the game is too stupid to recognize that I already did something...

SO GOOD. Like what psoplayer said; it's Borderlands only morebetter. More bosses, more animations, marginally smarter bad guys, more gun toys, more landscape (and crate!) variety... just morebetter.

SO GOOD.

I need to sleep. I'm glad I napped before it unlocked, but tomorrow morning is still going to suck. SO WORTH IT.

It doesn't unlock until friday for us Europeans unfortunately. That could mean that most potential coop partners in the GWJ steam group will be level 10-15 when people like me will be level 1, less cool. I don't get why in this day and age the same game in steam unlocks days later for a different region.

Question for the PC folk: how's the framerate? I'm curious if I'll be able to crank up all bells and whistles with my Radeon 6850 and PhenomX6 at 1920x1200...

if you're not getting your premiere items to load, restart the game.

I thought the intro was pretty slick, introducing all the character classes and the basic plot without any dialog. With the music it kind of felt like a trailer for the game, in fact the song was used in the great Arkham City trailer.

I just bought a 6870, and I'm running at max settings at 1680x1050. Looks great and runs great.

Exactly! Perfect description! I noticed especially with the guns a greater variety of physical models with corresponding hand motions. The flick out/flick in of my revolver cylinder had a meaty, satisfying crack to it that made me want to shoot more things!

Call me crazy but I miss the skags.

You're crazy. I bet your sister is a skag.

Spoiler:

I don't know if you have a sister.

To those of you who like me missed the 25% coupon and pre-order;

Can't get the free mechanomancer class anymore but GMG still has the main game 20% off with
GMG20-AWDF9-Q1PEY and the season pass 20% off with GMG20-27J4Z-8NXHO for a total of $62.40.
Of course they'll probably be on for 33-50% off on the steam fall or Christmas sale if you're patient.

After some experience, any suggestions on the the viability of each class solo? I'm assuming Axton would be good with the turret, but not really my style. I'm leaning towards zero, since I like sniping and trying to be stealthy as I explore big worlds in games like this. I've heard that he and the siren might be better as support classes. Any opinions?

Thinking of that, I found a revolver that actually required fanning of the hammer for every shot. It was awesome.

I'm liking Zero (sorry; zer0) so far, but I'm only an hour or so in. His stealth isn't "explore the world" variety, more combat tactics, but super fun so far.

Played some Zero alone since I couldn't join Dyni, pants, and tuffalo last night for nothing. Tried invites from Steam and in-game trying to join as well. 30 sec countdown and timed out every time.

Then fuzzball invited me and I was able to join immediately and we played for a good hour. As usual, much more fun with friends.

Seems great so far. As already said, Borderlands but with more polish.

I played a couple of hours as Zero last night. But I was thinking more of a backstabber, not a sniper for my build.

I did die a couple of times, but nothing ever felt undoable. But it's still early game.

Main reason was I never played the sniper class in BL1, and wanted to play something different. I enjoyed the Siren most in BL1, so will probably also start that class.

Hoping to get on around 8 tonight for my first look. Anybody up for co-op (pc) around then?

Is there any loot associated with having a BL1 save on your machine? I reformatted recently and don't have 1 installed.

Not much just veteran skins.

Hreey guess who forgot to load the damn game before leaving for work today? Oh that's right--this guy. Hopefully I can get everything downloaded and installed soon enough to actually play before I pass out at the keyboard

I should be on at 8 eastern.

Have you tried the mobile app (assuming you have a compatible phone and your PC is on)? I know if you buy it you can start downloads remotely, but I'm not sure on pre-orders.

Ordered the game in July with one credit card through amazon, card got stolen, got new credit card, order failed, no longer release day shipping.

Crap. See you friday.

What time zone Flaming? I haven't fired it up yet so I'm looking to group with someone just starting.

If you're stuck in a .net install reboot loop delete the "redist" folder from here

Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Borderlands 2\Binaries

FWIW, I didn't reboot after the .net install and everything worked just dandy.

Got an hour or so in last night. Really digging it. The Phys-X implementation I thought originally to be really gimmicky, but it definitely helps the game feel more "solid" than BL1 did. It's kind of hard to describe, but the "meatiness" of the revolver is along the same lines as how I feel about everything.

Meaty.

Oh, does Handsome Jack remind anyone of a certain former ODIN agent? IMAGE(http://i.imgur.com/mYyNV.gif)
