NFL 2012 Week 2 Thread

Pouble dost.

Dear Emmanuel Sanders,

Please keep doing that.

Yours truly,

All the people who matter

Good lord the Saints D isn't very good.

Neither, for that matter, is their offense.

Yeah, so much more optimism on the chiefs for this season. What a mess.

You'd think they were playing a team that almost got beat by the Browns.

I gotta stop picking the Saints... ugh

Wow that Redskins receiver just blew the game huge. I cant even laugh that was so stupid.

Double post: and missed the 62 yard fg.

So... NFC West can go 4-0 today if the 49ers win tonight.

One of the most epically stupid things I have ever seen a player do. To be fair, those officials sucked balls, and had completely lost control of that game by that point.

The look on Orapko's face when Morgan did that was priceless. Josh Morgan is going to have a really, really long week.

How quaint, an annoying Eagles fan. Haven't seen one of those before. You dispute the fact that they almost lost to the Browns?

That could describe a lot of games this week. These officials make just as many bad calls as the normal officials but they don't have any balls.

Should that have been off-setting penalties? I agree what Morgan did was stupid, but Cortland Finnegan shoved him in the face. I know it's always the retaliator that gets called but then again...it was Cortland Finnegan.

With the game on the line like this I think they should of let that play and not taken the chance away from the Skins.

I take offense to that remark.. I'm more than an annoying Eagles fan.. I'm just flat out annoying.

Also.. seriously?

As someone subjected to the Seahawks in the PNW I generally disliked them. Plus that ugly silver and blue. This team is fun to watch, though.

Blaine Gabbert threw for 54 yards? Guy Whimper effect in action?

Sure, it's nice that DBs and WRs are being allowed to play as opposed to constant DPI calls, but these replacement refs seem to be missing a lot of DPI. I think the DBs are using all the tricks in the book that can be difficult to see. Lots of inside pulling of jerseys and stuff. Anyway, it's only truly annoying me because it's happening against the Ravens.

The Jacoby Jones callback, right?

Nope, that was later. I was talking about a missed PI call from the 2nd quarter or so.

It's something I noticed last week, but it was annoying me to no end today.

Should have been offsetting penalities, Finnegan did it feet away from the refs. The refs had lost the game by that point. I know that usually the player who retaliates usually is the only one who gets nailed, but really?

The NFL needs to man up and bring back the real refs

I kept seeing holding and illegal contact called while the ball was obviously in the air. I felt the refs were much worse this week.

ugh...complain about taking forever to spot the ball after a penalty...but not about letting defense play football. I much rather them not be calling every tiny bit of contact on a WR.. old school football!

I don't think the Finnegan push was worth of a penalty; it was pretty minor. It's not like he violently knocked his head around or pushed him to the ground. It was a little push, and I really didn't think it should have caused a penalty at all. Morgan, on the other hand, did something incredibly stupid that will always get flagged.

Also, when you're playing against the Rams, you should realize that Cortland Finnegan is going to try to piss you off and cause penalties. He's good at it.

I thought the replacement refs were decent in week one, but they were pretty awful this week.

I think at halftime they put up a graphic showing the Jaguars had -1 passing yards. No, seriously.

Way to go Hoppa, way to go. I hope Matt Schaub gets the clap.

OMFG THROW A FLAG!

My boy is sliding and bleeding over here, what the f*ck.

Come on NFL get this sh*t fixed ASAP

I have to agree with Schiano, there's no rule that prohibits him from having his defense do what it takes to get the ball when teams go into a victory formation.

With that said, I won't exactly feel bad for him if another team tries to do that against the Bucs, and Freeman gets hurt. Then again, the Bucs would actually have to win another game for that to happen. Kudos to Coughlin for sticking up for his team.

(Yes, I realize the Bucs are not bad enough to go (1-15) and they will win some games this year, but I did lose a little respect for Schiano, especially since there were probably a good number of Giants fans who were hoping he does well this year since MetLife stadium isn't too far from Rutgers)

Whew. Kyle Williams, working for redemption, recovering that onside kick.

I'm clearly a huge Bucs fan, and even I think Schiano's a giant douchebag for instructing his team to hit a QB on the final kneeldown of a game. I don't care if it means you have an infinitesimal chance of winning if you do so; it's a crappy move, and he should be ashamed of himself.

Hear, hear!

NFC West is now NFC Best, 4-0 this week! And all quality wins!

Sadly I forgot about this thread until now, so I missed my chance of going a perfect 0-9 through two weeks.

I didn't see the Chiefs game, but I'm not surprised they tanked. I can't believe some pundits picked them to make the Super Bowl. Nice backs and some talented players, but a mediocre at best QB and maybe the worst coaching staff in the league (at least at the top). Here's Mo Carthon's playbook from his time with the Browns. The fact that it's on the internet probably didn't help the results today:
