Garion, thanks for the heads up about the bolding....

cause just reading your picks is boring heres something else.

On the replacement officials:
"They're under a lot of scrutiny, and the ones we had last week deserved the scrutiny. You have to understand the rules."

More on the replacement officials:
"You have to try to curtail some of your frustration I think. It's just frustrating when you're positive that there's either a missed call, or that the rule was not interpreted the way that it's supposed to be interpreted. There were multiple instances of that, and when you watch the film back it's frustrating. That being said, there were some just bizarre calls on both sides. Anybody who watches the TV copy, I mean I saw it from the sidelines, but we scored a touchdown on a legit block in the back. I don't know what happened on that. It has to hopefully get better."

On getting away with that illegal block:
"There's still disbelief. I can't say it's comical, but I don't feel bad because we had some bad ones our way as well, but I'm just surprised that you missed that one. That one was a discrete block in the back."

Rodgers on the refs.

Ravens at Eagles.
Chiefs at Bills.
Saints at Panthers.
Jets at Steelers.
Broncos at Falcons.

Wow. I appreciate his honesty.

Those watching last week's thread saw me go from elation to rage and back to relief mostly around that sequence.

I think the refs managed to not throw a game or else I would of heard the outrage but the NFL really is tempting faith each week potentially.

If anything I hope the randomness of football equals out roughly over a game so the best team wins. Really don't need the reffing mistakes even out over the course of the game also. Theres already enough parity in the league.

Eagles
Bills
Panthers
Steelers
Denver

The thing to remember is that both sides are playing with the same bad refs.
Perhaps another way to look at it is the replacement officials are making more mistakes than the regular ones. Surely that means the distribution of mistakes between the two teams will statistically be more even? I'm only about 3/4 kidding here.

Ravens at Eagles.
Chiefs at Bills.
Saints at Panthers.
Jets at Steelers.
Broncos at Falcons.

Steelers looked old and slow.

You'd think they were playing a team that almost got beat by the Browns.

Yeah they are both getting bad calls/no calls. Some calls are more critical, if GB had won, there would of been a huge uproar.

The notable ones I thought of. Seattle getting a 4th timeout in the second half and Oakland not getting 1 last play off the clock. Oh and calling a 2 min warning on the extra point attempt for Broncos.

Judgement calls go both ways but not understanding the rules and the coaches taking advantage of that...just please bring back the real refs.

*FACE PALM*

Bring back the real refs pronto!... so we can get back to complaining about them instead

Meh. None of those had a significant impact on the game.
There was some weird stuff, but I'd bet these refs get acclimated pretty quickly. It's early in the season for everyone.

It's funny, if I went by this thread, the replacement refs did a really bad job. If I go by talk radio, they all praised the refs on how they did a really good job, minus the extra time out for Seattle.

I can't comment either way, the only football I really watched was the Giants game Wednesday, and the Eagles game Sunday. The only game I was looking for bad ref calls was the Giants game, and I saw a lot of contact by defenders downfield that weren't called. To be honest, I didn't mind that, I did mind the early contact as the ball was arriving, and there were two big calls that were blown against the Giants. With that said, that's not why they lost the game, they underestimated a good Cowboys team.

"Eugene Monroe not only whipped [Jared Allen] last Sunday, but he abused him, tossing Allen around as if he were a junior high kid trying to make his way to the varsity."

Yeah CBSSports, that's what I already said.

Also, love that the first thing on his 10 Things was calling out Polamalu for blowing the play on that Demaryius Thomas touchdown.

Alright Prisco, your column's going into the RSS reader.

Maybe they should move him to safety. Oh, wait.

I don't remember where I read this, but someone is suggesting that their coaching is off. Stokely made a comment that the Steelers were basically doing the same stuff all game. This is exactly what happened in the playoffs against Denver. Is Dick LeBeau done for?

If I never hear that CeeLo song again it will be too soon. I like him, but that song is just f*cking horrible

He's 75 going on 40. Maybe he's still reeling after the death of Andy Griffith. I mean Matlock. Dick misses his stories.

He's done well for so long, as the Steelers defensive coach. I wager blitzing relies heavily on speed, which correlates to youth. If the Steelers D is old, either they get some new blood in there or adapt the schemes.

Why is Rodgers holding on to the ball so damn long now. Did he not get the memo that his O line is not that great?

I'm enjoying Mike Mayock's commentary. I've always enjoyed him, and I love that his announcing isn't completely condescending like most announcers.

Also these refs are bullsh*t.

That fake field goal...

Packers front seven looked great tonight. Clay Matthews is getting all the attention but the d-linemen and young linebackers looked awesome. Erik Walden, Desmond Moses and DJ Smith all played very well, and The Claymaker capitalized.

cause the Bears d is good enough to cover the receivers that long.

Charles Woodson. I love you. See everyone in the playoffs where this D will be hitting their stride.

Ravens at Eagles - Ravens have this one in the bag easy.

Chiefs at Bills - That's great, but who are the Chefs?

Saints at Panthers - I think the Saints bounce back strong.

Jets at Steelers - Sanchez blows it.

Broncos at Falcons - I honestly had to flip a coin.

You just HAD to say that, didn't you?
