Finished Any Games Lately?

Just finished Costume Quest and its expansion. Took a bit to get into it, but then it was pretty fun. Didn't end up using half the costumes though.

After 5 1/2 hours, 10000000 is done. Fun game and was definitely worth the time spent although I don't think I'll probably come back to it unless there's extra stuff added in a patch.

Pretty much my opinion too. It's got some major design hiccups (which is why it took me that long to get through it) but it was a very cool little game. I hope he does add more but otherwise, I'll probably be done with it. Got a lot out of the price of admission though.

Just finished off VVVVVV. So so so very happy with that game. Checkpoints galore, yet every time I got though a tough screen, I had such a wonderful feeling of success. Just barely challenging enough to get my blood boiling, and I'm not one of those gluttons for punishment. Please finish this game if you haven't! It's takes less that 2 hours! :D

Yeah, I enjoyed this game immensely. Great 8-bit soundtrack too. I hope they add more content!

There's a buncha user-created levels in the 3DS version, I assume there's someplace to find those for the PC game.

Finally finished Batman Arkham City. Overall it was a good game, but I felt like all the extra achievement stuff really impacted my level of enjoyment. I liked the story and if I wasn't such a completionist, I would have gone back and just finished it sooner. But I still have a bunch of challenges, riddle trophies and etc to go and collect and I really don't want to.

I might come back to it in a few years. Considering I got the 1K on Batman AA, this was disappointing.

Finally got a medal on every single player map in Hoard. I really like this game except the 'hoard' mode maps which are just insanely tough. This is a great in for a few minutes game as the longest any one map should last is 10 minutes as that is the countdown time set for the first mode type. I just wish I had been able to find more (any?) people to co-op / competitive matches with.

Just finished Dust: An Elysian Tail for XBLA. I didn't know much about it going in beyond what Giant Bomb said about it but it's a masterwork. Incredible that it was almost entirely done by a single guy who had no experience in programming or game design before he made this. Super tight gameplay, amazing art, pretty good voice acting overall, great soundtrack and a story that gets pretty moving at the end. If you've got a 360, go try it out. One of the better games I've played this year.

Finished Fable III's main quest line. I had a really good time with it for the 15-20 hours I played, but I think I'm done with it. I don't seem to have the perfectionist/completionist gene.

S'okay. That one's a pain to 100%.

I'm glad to have played it, and I had a great time, but it feels like there's a very finite amount of play in that game for me. Similar to the Sims; I can get a few hours out of that style of game, but not much more.

I finished Diner Dash Deluxe. Very impressive, right? I also got Expert scores on nearly everything.

...I should finish some real games soon.

15-20 hours is such a great amount of time to spend on an RPG. Wish it was more common.

Honestly, I felt a bit let down by the ending, but the gameplay was losing steam for me, so it felt like as good a time as any to quit.

I finally finished Burnout Paradise PC. Lot of fun and exploration was had. Too bad the dlc store is closed now. My son would really like the toy cars dlc pack.

Yeah, the fact that it's so broken is completely baffling. I loved playing that game.

On other racing game finishing notes, I just finished up Dirt 3 PC. I enjoyed most of it until the end when the land rush (truck / buggy mode) finally clicked and I then learned to like almost all of the game except that the tracks were almost all specific to each vehicle type so you don't race rally on land rush courses, so even if I did finally learn to enjoy land rush, all the courses have been raced too many times to want to return to it. If they ever do another Dirt, they either need to find a way make more course overlap (maybe with slight modifications per vehicle type or simplify it back down to rally and maybe 2 other vehicle / event types.

Dirt 3... simplify it back down to rally and maybe 2 other vehicle / event types.

Agreed! Playing with a joypad, and having the controls AND track change for every single event made it more of a chore for me.

Finished Torchlight. Or at least I'm finished with it. Hit the 12 hour mark and have decided to give up. I looked up the level that the final boss is on, and realized I'd be playing just for the sake of finishing. Overall not a fun game. Too much loot management. The Click-Zone for picking up items was weirdly specific and was smaller than the text box hovering over the item. So I did a lot of clicking to pick up an item, realize I missed, then try to click it a few more times, but since my hero is moving the camera around with him, it makes trying to click the item even harder. It's such a minor detail, but loot is such a big factor to the game, and it's just not fun!

Played the wizard class. Maybe the other classes are fun-ner? Just kinda lots of clicking.

Glad I finally got to play it, though!

I felt the same way, although I didn't make it even close to 12 hours. More like 3ish.

Hitman: Blood Money

Brilliant game all around, although you're not quite done with it when you're done (there's too many ways to do a particular mission to not try something crazy afterwards). The 'ending credits' mission was a bit annoying, though. The game basically turns into a shooter, with 302032 guards surrounding you and you don't really have the best weapon.

VVVVVV. Such a neat combination of simple feel-good story and gameplay, balanced against absolutely maddening difficulty. When I meet Terry Cavanagh, it's hard to know whether I would heartily shake his hand or punch him in the nose. =)

Just kidding -- I was actually surprised how the quick repetition honed one's skill. Sure, there were very difficult rooms, but they were surprisingly doable over time. That having been said: Thirteen trinkets; I'm no masochist.

that is a brilliant summary and exactly how I felt about it (I did get all the trinkets)

I feel much the same about the whole series. I was in love with Fable 1 and 2 was great too, despite both of those games' problems. By the end of 3, though, I just felt that I was done with Fable.

Trails in the Sky: Put about 56ish hours into it. The game was great. My favorite JRPG on the PSP.

Bastion is finally complete. Unfortunately it didn't wow me like it did others. I enjoyed the story, but slogging through the levels and dealing with the mediocre combat was grating. I would have rather watched a movie with the same story. Oh well.

I was the same way. I think the game was just unique and beautiful enough for the earliest players to wholeheartedly recommend it without thinking too much of the shallow gameplay, which resulted in my expectations being completely caught off guard as I played it later on.

Still glad I finished it though -- even though it wasn't the earth-shattering game I was hoping to play.

Just finished Fallout: New Vegas (PC) with all of its DLC. It was a fantastic game and a satisfying sequel to Fallout 1 & 2, definitely more so than its east coast counterpart.

Just finished Diablo 2 LOD expansion. My goal was to get this finished before Torchlight 2 released. Just made it.

Recently finished the main story in Pokemon Black. Still think it's the best written game in the series.

Just finished Arkham City myself. Catwoman's butt was worth the price of admission. The game was otherwise excellent. I thought the story was excellent, the characters, despite them throwing every possible one into the game, were amazingly voiced, and that combat never, ever gets old.

Up next, finishing up Alpha Protocol. Now that is an incredible and incredibly underrated game.

Hitman: Sniper Challenge 4 hours ish.

I finished the mini game. I thought at first I hated the way the rifle handled. I continued through and finished all of the challenges. I'm playing on the PC so the mouse was used. I couldn't imagine using the xbox controller for the precise little movements to headshot someone. I watched a few youtube videos and they couldn't get the aim right. The challenges were okay. I did end up feeling pretty good about click the button and then move onto the next guard knowing I hit the target. The hardest challenge was the flying pigeon shot. I can do the moving/running headshot decently but that little bird was a pain.

Looking forward towards the Hitman game.
