Diablo III Catch-All 2.0

I logged into D3 for the first time in ages last night. Best loot drop, a rare level 50 weapon with 183 DPS. Thank goodness for the AH. I'm rolling through Hell act 2 with around 11k DPS and things have a nasty habit of falling over dead when they appear on my screen. For my third pass through the content, this is about the level of challenge I want from the game right now, so I couldn't be happier. I have a chest full of upgrades I'll be able to use soon too, which is nice to look forward to.

Woo, downed Inferno Diablo with ukick yesterday. Now I just need to go back and finish up the areas of Act 3/4 that I skipped.

We did Inferno Ponyland after Diablo. Holy crap, THAT was brutal.

Oh, Ghorm. I've gotten so close to killing you.

That's the only thing i haven't done is inferno whimsey, never wanted to spend the money on it.

I'm finally feeling good about my WD... up till about a week ago my monk was my primary farmer (act 1 inferno), but I got a few lucky drops and a great Mojo in the AH and now my WD can farm Act II fairly consistently. My monk can also farm Act 2 fairly well but it still feels a little dicey. I think I may try the WD out in Act 3 a bit to see how he does. I really like the Spirit Barrage + Plague of Toads attacks and I got 2 weapons that enhance their damage. If playing with people I'll change the dogs to fire dogs, but solo the lifestealing dogs seem to work best. I also switched from the 4th zombie dog to the 20% damage reduction skill and that seems to help a lot as well. While the 20% extra health for pets was good with that skill, ultimately having me live longer is a lot more useful than having the dogs live longer.

Good times.. please friend me up and we can play in some groups. I don't see too many WD's among the group thats been posting their inferno progress.

Huh.

Well, turns out Diablo on Inferno is kind of easy. Where I have trouble dealing with half the elite units in Act IV Inferno I was able to take down Diablo in two attempts. I guess the only thing to do now is start upgrading the Staff of Herding and put some more time into my HC Barbarian. Any regular HC players want to group up?

I have a HC Wizard I wouldn't mind getting closer to 60, but she's only 10 right now. What level is your Barb?

My Barb is at 54 but fortunately I also have a 14 Wizard. I wouldn't mind starting fresh either, I would like to make WD my primary HC character eventually. I should be on later tonight, 5pm EST or so.

I'm game to start fresh too, or I have a 5 Monk (but I worry about doing melee in HC due to the gear requirements). I can hop on around 5 EST too.

I was also thinking of starting a HC witch doctor. Not sure if I'll be on later but I'll message you if I am.

Looks like I won't be on until much much later. I'm on most nights though so I'll always be willing to do some HC.

HC Witchdoctor? You're a glutton for punishment.

Not even skimming, but I have not seen any updates on PVP or the Arenas lately. It that on some indefinite hiatus?

And for Withdoctor builds, I found the Plaguebringer build was very powerful, especially when you get free frogs. 40% flat damage reduction. Sacrifice is your Oh sh*t button. You spam frogs like no end.

Some experiments would be Spined Dart over Toads, Acid cloud over Zombie Bears. It is a good solo build.

If you are playing more in groups I fid the Spirit Warrior build better. As the WD you will be the crowd control. You get a ton of slows, Snake is a decent stun, And Jaunt lets you break containment from walling elites. Spirit vessel is a good do over button as well.

http://d3db.com/calculator/i/witch-d... You may find Big Bad Voodoo with ghost trance, a solid heal is more useful than a Bruiser if you have solid DPS and Tanking already. Spirit Barrage can also fire over obstacles.

Nah, in my experience (I've got all five classes in inferno), witch doctor has the most survivability. It's got a ton of crowd control abilities, pets to draw aggro (now that they can actually survive a couple hits) and spirit vessel is a get-out-of-jail-free card in case you screw up.

I'm still paying this game so I can't really complain how the game isn't fun or anything. However, allow me to complain some about the new legendaries. I am farming Act 3 Inferno with 240% MF on my Demon Hunter. I finally score a legendary drop, level 62 gloves that turn out to be frostburn gauntlets. Awesome, right! This should be a legendary upgrade for my Wizard, who has been languishing in Act 2 Inferno. No such luck. So what if they increase cold damage by like 25%. The do absolutely nothing else. They are so useless I wouldn't even wear them as mittens when I go skiing. Sure enough, a check on the AH and there are like 30 pages of frostburns all selling for next to nothing.

I thought Blizzard was going to improve all legendaries so they would be legendary? Wasn't that their promise. How could they not realize that their new and improved frostburn gauntlets were still useless.

/end rant.

Still working on it I believe. This is Blizzard we're talking about here.

Mostly, I just don't have time to play. I haven't played since Thursday or something. Stupid life responsabilities.

I have gotten about 4-5 legendary drops since 1.03 only one was sellable in the AH, and only for 200K. I got very similar frostburn gauntlets as you did and just ended up Salvaging it for my first legendary material achievement.

I think they improved all legendaires so they could be legendary - by giving them interesting baseline effects and allowing them to roll high stats on top of them.

Still means some (or most) will be garbage, since you might get a legendary that rolled crummy stats. But now, the best legendaries or set items are going to usually be best in slot, which was never true before.

I'll throw out some totally baseless speculation and say that I wouldn't be surprised if those features don't wind up getting pushed back to the inevitable expansion.

I don't think even Blizzard can get away with that one. PvP may not happen soon, but I will be shocked if they have the stones to actually charge for it.

I don't think that would be the aim. I think it far more likely the reason would be a technical one. If finishing the PvP arenas required some significant system change, it's easier to hold back that kind of system change to include with a bunch of new content, and then land it all at once.

I personally don't care about the PvP stuff at all, so I'm glad Blizzard is fixing the core game first before moving on to enabling ear collecting.

Haven't they always talked about PvP being the 1.1 patch? So, it'll come eventually. I still don't understand the appeal of PvP in this type of game.

I'd wager they are also trying to avoid the can of worms that will result between the arena and the rmah.

I can't wait to hear about and expansion. Did you guys hear about the first paragon 100 character?

Nope, but a couple people on my friends list are 25+ now. I've been distracted by Dark Souls (again), so haven't played a whole lot recently.

I'm guessing 1.1 will be the baseline patch that is the foundation for the expansion.

PvP for a game like D3 is like watching body builders flexing in a gym.

I don't even really know how it would function on any level. Gear is way too much of a factor in this game, even more than it ever was in WoW. PvP with an RMAH and gear that exponentially increases the power of your character? It seems ridiculous on the face of it.

Maybe the PvP will be MOBA style where you can load out whatever skills you want, but you have to buy your gear 'in match'.

100? That's ridiculous, I've been playing what I thought was A LOT and I just reached level 10 :/
