Borderlands 2 Catch-All

9 days folk. 9 loooooooonng days...

At least GW2 is keeping me company. Wished it was TL2, but tl2 decided to be after, so I'll make it wait.

And almost enough saving for the season pass, but should I wait until they release the first dlc?

Oh, and if people have ordered 4-packs, I would love to take 1 or 2 copies off your hands! Have paypal, so should be fine.

You can still get it at Green Man Gaming for cheaper than those four packs when you use the coupon on the front page. And it's Steamworks, so you'll get a Steam key.

Toss me an invite to the new group, please:

Thanks!

Same as the old one, deftly.

Pre-ordered. Can't wait. Looked at the pile and hesitated, but not for too long.

Could I get an invite to the Steam group, please?

Thanks in advance!

I'm excited for this game. I'm really excited for this game.

Are you excited? Because I know I'm excited.

I'm excited that you guys are excited. I'm also excited that I'm excited.

Was thinking of picking up the 4-pack if anyone wants in? Figure that's $45/person vs $60. PM me if interested. I'll take the first 3.

It's still $36 with the at GMG if you use the GMG25-1BW0K-K1A3G code without doing 4 packs, and you get Steam keys.

Someone else sent out invites, so we appear to be all caught up.

Doh! Thanks. I went back a few pages and got the impression that it was a new one.

Not if you're from Europe like me, then it's still 37,50 euros after the discount code (50,- before). That's the same price as ordering a 4-pack through steam, so, not worth it when in Europe!

If it's the same price and you don't have to try to find other people, I suppose it is still nice to be able to just buy one copy without organizing four internet people, transferring money to people, etc.

Not sure if this has already been posted, but a neat web app for browsing through the different skills.

Saw this commercial during the Eagles game yesterday. While there's not gameplay, I still love live action trailers. Unfortunately the only version I could find was recorded with a phone.

I like how many options they're giving players for health regeneration. Looks like I won't have to lean so heavily on my shields this time around. I wish the Siren's straight-up regeneration wasn't so high-tier, but she does have other healing abilities at lower levels.

Also interesting is that if you want to reach the end of any skill tree, you'll need to really focus on that tree alone.

After looking at the trees I have no idea which character to play. I was leaning Maya or Zer0 but now I am not sure. I think I may just have to put a few hours into each of them just to see which one feels right. I think having Maya with the Harmony tree loaded down will be a must have for any MP game though.

Oh, man, Rampage-Gunzerker looks sooooo good... (Also Bloodlust-Assassin. Mmmm....)

Here are 2 support build I'm contemplating for Maya. I think one of them will be my first build.

Build 1:
Phaselock - 1
Ward - 5
Accelerate - 5
Suspension - 5
Converge - 1
Inertia - 5
Quicken - 5
Sub Sequence - 5
Thoughtlock - 5
Sweet Release - 5
Restoration - 5
Elated - 2
Res - 1

Build 2:
Phaselock - 1
Ward - 5
Accelerate - 5
Suspension - 5
Converge - 1
Quicken - 5
Sub Sequence - 1
Sweet Release - 5
Restoration - 5
Elated - 2
Res - 1
Sustenance - 2
Foresight - 5

Thoughts?

The second build doesn't look like it is actually possible unless you missed including something. You need to drop 2 more points into Harmony before you you can get Sustenance.

I am kind of hoping they have some sort of way to save and switch between builds because I could see myself wanting to switch up my build with the siren between SP and MP.

You are right, Rykin. I had 5 points in Elated, not two. Which one would you go with?

For my second character, I think I'll go with Zero as a sniper. I went through the skill tree, and it looks like I'll just put everything in the Sniping category and 3 points into the fast hands skill. It should be a monster of a sniper.

Edit: Rykin, that looks like a solid build. I don't think I could give up Quicken, though. Life Tap will be pretty cool, though, if you go that route.

I am looking at this for the Siren:

Phaselock = 1
Ward = 5
Accelerate = 5
Suspension = 5
Converge = 1
Inertia = 4
Sweet Release = 5
Restoration = 5 (might switch these points to Mind's Eye for SP)
Elated = 5
Sustenance = 5
Life Tap = 5

Figure this build should be able to stay in the fight for quite a while thanks to all the health and shield regen plus she can heal teammates. Though I am also thinking about skipping the Phaselock enhancing stuff in favor of other stuff.

Edit: yea this looks interesting:

Phaselock = 1
Ward = 5
Accelerate = 5
Inertia = 5
Mind's Eye = 5
Restoration = 5
Recompense = 5
Sustenance = 5
Life Tap = 5
Foresight = 5

I kind of wonder if the Recompense skill will be really powerful.

The siren and assassin are top prospect for sure. But I will be damned if the skill calculator didn't fire me up to play a zerker and commando.

That skill that lets you zerk while in the "fight for your life" state looks amazing. And the skill that increases zerking duration on kill looks really neat too. As well as the skill that will refill the clip of your other weapons or the one that makes the last shot of your clip do extra damage are phenomenal.

Sticking turrets on walls sounds like a blast as well as sticking rockets on it. And who would balk at dropping 2 turrets?

"Sometimes one just isn't enough."

Oh and I love the other notable reference:

I'm your Huckleberry.

Looking at Maya's Motion skill tree, the last skill, Thoughtlock, transforms her action skill, Phaselock. Instead of locking down the enemy so it can't attack or move, using Phaselock causes the enemy to attack other enemies. In order to get Thoughtlock, you must put 5 points into Sub-Sequence, which does the following:

When an enemy dies under the effects of Phaselock, there is a chance for your Phaselock to seek out and affect another target.

This got me thinking. If you Thoughtlock an enemy, you want it to stay alive for as long as possible to maximize the benefit of it attacking other enemies, so you won't be attacking the Thoughtlocked enemy. And if the enemies that are being attacked by the Thoughtlocked enemy do not attack it, then there is a good chance that the Thoughtlocked enemy will not die before the effect wears off. In that case, Thoughtlock essentially negates Sub-Sequence, which you have to spend 5 points on in order to get access to Thoughtlock.

Conclusion: I expect very few players to use Thoughtlock.
