iPad Games (and Apps) Catch All

For anyone who saw today's Table Top, there's an iPhone version of Dixit available (currently for free).

Dixit for iOS is Tutorial + Multidevice Multiplayer only, no pass and play. Just so people are aware.

Kairosoft's Dungeon Village is $1.99 for a while.
I currently have about $1.40 of credit left. I have a few of the other Kairosoft games and enjoyed them for a while. Is this one worth refilling my iTunes account with magic moneys?

I just saw Kairosoft and $1.99 and immediately purchased it.

I have no idea if the game is any good but I bought Fart Cat because I laughed so hard at the trailer. They deserve my 99 cents.

I've had that on my wishlist for a bit, been on the fence for a while. I think it is time to come down off the fence.

Wow, I'm surprise that this game came out quickly after what this studio went through. This game is made from some people who were laid off from the 38 Studios fall out. Brings a warm fuzzy feeling to my heart to see them rebound so quickly.

Ouch. That's horrific. You get fired and then your unemployed remains get recycled to be made into a game for iOS? Harsh world.

Is there an easy way to find a bunch of pass and play games?

Avid Studio is for free at the moment
Governor of Poker on sale for $1.99

It may sound lame but my friends i have been playing a lot of Monopoly and Scrabble on my I pad. Those are great classic pass and play style games. There's tons of them in the Family game night sections and such. Otherwise, couldn't most games be pass and play? Turn for turn?

Says $5 for Avid Studio for me.

Edit: re: any game being pass and play, I don't know, hence the query. Do most MP games allow for pass and play on a single device?

Yes, I recognize Rich Gallup who was at Gamespot before that. Looks pretty dumb, but I'll risk 99 cents...

I downloaded it for free and it was still free when I posted it. Not sure what happened there....

Just checked, seems to have settled on FREE once more... Go go gadget download.

EDIT:
Just downloaded and installed it, and because Corel has just bought this company out, you get their Pinacle Studio (the next version of Avid Studio) for FREE AS WELL!

What are you waiting for? Go download them now.

Probably been covered already but I bought The World Ends With You for iPad. It's been brilliant so far, I'm usually not a jRPG person but the setting is a bit different, gameplay is fun, and the soundtrack is stonking. Personally I didn't think the £13.99 price was unreasonable given that this was a full DS game previously, and the port to iOS was thoughtful and well executed.

More generally, I really wish more people would get behind larger, more complex, more expensive games on iPhone and iPad. The odd puzzle game for a quid is fine, don't get me wrong, but there's such a wealth of great games that could be brought to the platform, if companies could achieve sufficient sales at £10+ to make the effort worthwhile.

Like this one? Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition™ for iPad

$10 and IAP?

2 new characters, new portraits and new voice sets are IAP. The rest of the enhancements (a new character and a new quest line) are part of the purchase price. Even if the IAPs double the price, it is still a great deal.

I've never played Baldur's Gate, so assuming the touch screen control is well implemented on the iOS version I shall definitely pick that up

Lets hope this is the start of a trend ...

Is there a good Civ style experience for the iPad?

I was about to jump in and say that: Pinnacle Studio is a free download for iPad, and Avid is showing as free too. So you can get the latest, and last versions both for free!

Not sure that's a GOOD Civ experience. I had a ton of fun with it, but unless you ramp up the difficulty, the AI has all the strategic acumen of a cat in a paper bag.

Still fun though.

While I'm spamming the thread....Crimson Hexagon is evil. Addictive. Pretty. Terrific music. Still evil.

mateo:

I've played all the Civs. CivRev's AI is about par for the course, which is to say that it's also dumber than a brick. Arguably it's smarter than either IV or V AI, both of which routinely serve up their military units to you on a silver platter.

The top 3 reviews for CivRev are 1 star with major complaints about the ads. How present are the ads and are they intrusive?

I bought CivRev about a year ago and haven't played it for a while, but I don't remember any ads so they are either a new addition or I'm just too good in ignoring them.

This showed up at Pocket Tactics a little while ago. Check it out for a more sane look at the issue than you get in a typical iTunes review.

"You see that crawl up at the top of the screen, imploring you to download NBA 2K12? That’s it."

In short, the ads don't look bad at all, especially if it means that 2K will commit to maintaining the game.

Thanks for the link, that helps. I was having hell of a time googling for it.
So does that crawl show on every screen or just menus?
