I've heard so many tales of bad experiences in Baton Rouge. People I know in real life have had "beer" thrown on them, been mugged, had car's broken into, tailgate gear stolen, and my favorite, verbally assaulted (with young children) while exiting the stadium. Maybe I'm just friends with a bunch of asshats, or maybe there's a portion of LSU fanbase that takes things way overboard. One friend said it seemed like LSU fans are looking for a fight, especially after a game. That said I've never been to an LSU game in Baton Rouge. But I've never experienced anything like that at other schools or in Fayetteville. If I have an opportunity to go to an away game, I go elsewhere.

Did you come to Fayetteville in 1992? Otherwise you've never seen LSU play a down at our actual home stadium. I can promise you the atmosphere in Little Rock (where Arkansas is forced to play two game a year) is very different. Fayetteville is in Northwest Arkansas which is beautiful and more diverse. The city and campus have a much different feel than Little Rock. There are still plenty of "country-blumpkins", but which SEC team outside Vandy doesn't have a few hicks roaming around on gameday?

I'll also add that War Memorial is a dump, and most of the fans only like it because they serve beer in the stadium and the tailgaiting on the golf course is better. It's a much different crowd in Fayetteville, especially nowadays due to Wal-Mart. The game is in Fayettville this year, you should come up. It's a nice place, and the people are usually great to visiting fans.

Here's another tidbit LSU fans seems to forget. The Hogs have won three of the last five meetups. Last year was a beatdown. We'll see what happens this year with a more balance offense, and an improved defense.

Yeah that was my though reading the couple posts on the previous page.

Although let's be honest, the most annoying ones are from teams like UK and Vandy who never win a damn thing but act like they are good by association with top 10 teams.

Gig 'Em, Aggies! Beat the hell outta Florida!

And Go Hogs, warhawk.

Btw I have been to many games at LSU, and their fans are indeed the most obnoxious to visitors. And yeah, they pour beer on people. Not me, but the lady who sits next to me at work had it done to her when she was an Aggie coed. Seriously, they're pouring beer on cute girls. Crazy.

For all y'all beaching about SEC fans, have you noticed 100% of the folks making a post today pulling for their team have been...SEC fans? Better enthusiastic but obnoxious than apathetic.

If the Dawgs were at full strength, I would have no worries about Mizzou, but missing 4 starters on defense might prove costly.

I want to cheer for UGA, ferret, because I tend to pull for the teams supported by my Goodjer pals...but all of the hostility towards the new additions over on SEC Rant (Tigerdroppings) has given me a feeling of solidarity with Mizzou. And they are a very competent football team. They've been Aggie kryptonite in recent years.

Eh I think West Virginia fans get the "do the most crap to visiting fans" award. I've heard enough stories of people with various types of damage to their car through the years: broken windows, mirrors, antennas, keyed cars, etc. And of course there was that incident last year where they assaulted a pregnant woman and her companions.

The SEC hate jealousy has begun early this year.

Our biggest question is if our QB Jordan Wynn can stay healthy and perform. And I guess our new offensive coordinator, who is the QB from our win over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. He's 25.

And I guess both of those questions got answered last night in our loss to Utah State. Wynn gets knocked out (followed by a better offensive effort) and we looked bad pretty much everywhere. Oh well, go Utes!

So Mississippi State is taking it to Auburn. It's even more interesting when you consider that we're only two years out from AU's National Championship... but I guess that's the beauty of college football. It'll be State's first SEC opening win since 1999. Wow.

And as long as I'm here, I guess I'll finally post my obligatory Roll Tide. That game against Michigan was truly fun to watch. Granted, they got across the 50 before the fourth quarter but still...

Finally, good luck to the Aggies. I hope you represent the Lone Star State well.

I'm sorry, did you say something? I was too busy being distracted by booty

Yes!!!!!!

Well, I'm not happy, but we can certainly play with those guys. Really wish our first game hadn't been postponed - I think we can fix some of our issues.

Next two games are SMU and SC State, as well. Then Arkansas.

Oregon State and Iowa State made this a very good day. Too bad Michigan didn't lose as well.

The good: We gave it the ol' college try.

The bad: SU is 0-2.

Well, I guess it could be worse. I could be on suicide watch with warhawk.

Woof!

Mizzou was scrappy, and better on defense than I would have expected. Spiffy uniforms as well.

La. Monroe has a habit of beating SEC teams, beat Saban in his first year at Bama a few years back.

This is a post from beyond the grave.

6-6

It very well may have been '92. I've been to many away games with the Tigers. Even more home games, and not once have I seen the behavior you have described towards opposing fans. Not one time and I bet I've been to close to 75 LSU home games. Odds are I'd have seen it at least one time. I'm not talking about innocent trash talking, but have never seen an assault, beer thrown or poured, etc. I think your friends are making it up.

Having said that, I guess losing Petrino hurt more than folks thought. Losing a home game to UL Monroe? Ouch!

Not exactly an offensive explosion, but Oregon State took it to Wisconsin. The defense looked very impressive!

Wow. Overtime 4th down TD. Shocker.

Odds that UL-M wins the Sun Belt this year?

If you're a Beavers fan you'll take it. They might lose the rest of the season, but that was nice. There's some life out there.

Well, that is what happens when you hire Bobby Petrino. When he leaves, and he always leaves, he will leave you in shambles.

Hope no one else ever hires him.

I feel like I lost a loved one. Obviously the current staff needs to be fired. Eighth ranked team should not lose a home game to ULM. Injury to our QB didn't help. Time to reevaluate the entire program. Hopefully we'll bring in a big name in December. I wrote off the season tonight. If the hogs win 6 games I'll be amazed. If been through
the pit before. We'll see what happens.

Hogs still beat LSU!

Keep your chin up. Even if you lose 1 or 2 games AND your division title you have a chance of going to the national championship.

Umm, yay us?!?

Clemson next, should be a good game.

In your dreams. We might lose to Bama because they just look very solid. Don't see us losing to anyone else though. My gut tells me we'll be playing for another BCS championship and now that Jordan Jefferson is gone, we might have a chance of actually winning. USC is overrated, so my guess is we'll play Florida State for the title.
