Don't worry. Kaepernick will swoop in and fix it.

Wow, that was awesome. Reminds me of Tebow.

Kaepernick is Tebow.

I know, that's what I said.

Kaepernick is Tebow with an NFL arm, and two-tenths faster of a 40 time. And not-completely-hopeless throwing mechanics.

Actually, "NFL arm" is underselling it, at least in terms of arm strength. His arm is probably stronger than the rest of last year's draft class. The question is if his accuracy can be good enough.

Pointless predictions! Actually, just to be negative, only the last-place teams for each division.

Washington, Minnesota, St. Louis, Carolina (it's opening day, I'm optimistic, bite me), Miami, Cleveland, Oakland, Jacksonville.

Miami picks first in the 2013 draft.

I created a thread for pointless predictions because it was killing me not to tell everyone my worthless opinion.

Reading that paragraph sounds like you're talking about Jake Locker. Dude has one of the strongest arms in the NFL, but who knows how the accuracy will hold up.

I want in on this

Cowboys at Giants: Giants
49ers at Packers: Packers
Jaguars at Vikings :Vikings
Redskins at Saints: Saints

I like how Romo went to take the ball from the rest after that failed 4th and 1.

I like how the VERY FIRST CALL OF THE SEASON by the replacement refs was a bad call. Geeze NFL just pay the regular refs already. It is a drop in your enormous ocean of money.

Martellus Bennett doesn't haul in should-be catch. Here's my shocked face:

Wrong receivers Romo. Wrong receivers. I hate the Cowboys. If they're going to win they can at least get Dez Bryant some points and do me a favor in my fantasy league.

But no. They've gotta be assholes.

Gah.

Come on Giants. Don't make me start 0-1 on picks.

Oh, fine.

I'll take the loss for getting my pick in late because I honestly would have taken the Giants anyway.
I just can't pick against my Saints...
...And *Legion* told me I had to pick the Jaguars or he wouldn't come to my S&T's anymore.
Finally, I've been a closet Packers fan since the Brett Favre days. He may be gone but they remain my second favorite NFC team.

That was a hard game to watch. The Giants are loosing CB's like flies and teams are going to take advantage of it. I thought they could have held them near the 2 min warning but rookie CB's rarely get the job done. Oh well, they also lost their first game in 07 and 11. Here is to healthy CB's and better defense.

The giants running game was also pretty sluggish. I am surprised David Wilson didn't get the ball again after his fumble (that made me get -.5 in FF) but I guess that Caughlin tough love.

Tough loss to take. My takeaways...As TempestBlayze mentioned, the Giants injuries at CB were exploited by an effective Cowboys offense. The DT's were getting very tired in the 2nd half. Cruz and his bad drops. The Offensive line smothering Eli and the ineffective ability to score a TD and having to settle for a field goal.

As much as I say it, the Cowboys looked good but it's still a lot of games to go and the Giants can play better. Hopefully Coughlin whips them into shape and the injured get healthy quick.

I was the only one to pick the Cowboys.. as a Greek.. I must be channeling my inner Jimmy.

First Michigan loses, then the Giants lose. This has not been a good footbal week one for me...

Just saw that Art Modell died. I know plenty of people didn't like the guy, but I'm happy he brought football back to Maryland.

While the guy became hated in Cleveland, he was one of the true giants in the development of the modern NFL. The league wouldn't be vaguely the same without his input.

Reading that paragraph sounds like you're talking about Jake Locker. Dude has one of the strongest arms in the NFL, but who knows how the accuracy will hold up.

That arm is what made Locker a potential #1 pick before returning for his senior year.

The scouting report on accuracy is a little different between the two. With Kaepernick, his accuracy improved in his senior year (he finished a 65% passer) but he did it in Nevada's Pistol offense. With Locker, he was already a sub-60% passer in a pro-style offense, and it dropped a few percentage points in his senior year.

I think there are greater accuracy concerns with Locker than Kaepernick. But Locker's got a lot more experience running an NFL offense, which is a big reason why he became a starter last year while Kaepernick went through a learning year.

So far in the NFL, between preseason and limited real game time, Kaepernick is passing above 60%, but that's a small sample size.

It used to be that I would kill a QB like Locker for coming out of college with accuracy issues, as those sorts of things rarely sort themselves out at the NFL level. But after Matt Ryan and Josh Freeman, I'm not so sure anymore. (Freeman, INTs aside, was still a 63% passer last year - the problem there was trying to force plays rather than misfiring routing passes). Ryan was a sub-60% passer as a senior, and then he's been over 60% for 3 of his 4 NFL seasons.

As much as I'd like to bag on Locker and the Titans, I think he has plenty of starter potential. I also think the Titans need to be patient and be willing to endure a few seasons for the accuracy to come around. Another name to put next to those two I mentioned above: Eli Manning. Eli was a sub-60% passer for his first four NFL seasons. He's been above 60% ever since.

And as I'm fond of saying, I will always take a chance on a legitimate NFL arm. It's a QB-haves vs. QB-have-nots league. If you're a have not, you don't just ride our Matt Hasselbeck or David Garrard to a string of 8-8 records, take someone like Locker or Gabbert (or Tannehill, by the latest team to dump Garrard) and roll the dice on potentially developing a franchise QB. As the league stands now, you need one to be a competitor. (And I yearn for the pre-PolianBall NFL every time I write that).

Awesome.

Browns fan was easily the best.

That was awesome!

It's a good thing it wasn't, "I wish Art Modell were dead".

I haven't looked at the Browns boards today (it's generally excruciating), but I've read so many posts over the years about pissing on Modell's grave that I anticipate a tour package with that as the centrepiece being available pretty soon. Hopefully Teneman can take advantage of that.

I know I'm late to the party so my pick for Cowboys/Giants won't count but...

Cowboys I would have picked them, really
Packers
Vikings
Saints
