Borderlands 2 Catch-All

Vent? Not raidcall?

And as someone that uses skype daily at work, it's freaking terrible. I've never used steam so I can't comment on their setup.

Get a channel, you two.

Fuzzballx wrote:

Whatever folks use, i'm sure a lot will congregate on vent and utilize it's niceness and jump into seperate rooms for games just like they do with LoL...

Well LoL doesn't have any in-game voice. That was my point. Vent is great for some games. But we've had people around here playing daily games of TF2 or L4D/2 for at least 3 years that have never had any need for Vent.

Really just wait and see.

I somehow missed getting in the original Borderlands group way back when, so please add me to the Borderlands 2 group. I'm not sure how much co-op I'll be doing, but it'll be good to have the option. Steam link in sig.

Every time I've tried to use the Steam voice chat the sound quality is terrible and it inevitably doesn't work for half the people in a group. It's definitely not the same as Valve's in-game voice chat.

You can buy it as cheap (or cheaper) in a single copy on Green Man Gaming with the 25% off coupon they have: GMG25-1BW0K-K1A3G

It would be $37.50, and you'll get a Steam key.

Wow, good tip! I saved so much money doing that, I feel like I've done something wrong...

Anyway, back to Borderlands 2: Almost purely because of the trailers, I'm super excited for this game. Trailers have led me astray before, but it was playable at PAX East (probably at PAX too, but I was at PAX East), and the buzz has been all positive, so I expect it'll be at least as fun as the previous game, if not better.

So I was super-stoked about this game, then this cancer business happened, and now I'm going into surgery the day after it freakin' comes out.

It's a pretty trite concern to scale, but...well, is there anyone who might, say, be super-interested in this game who might either not pick it up right away or not dive into co-op right away? I'm basically looking for fellow 360 folks who might want to jump in on a co-op campaign once I'm a few weeks into recovery.

If not, that's fine, I'll just get it much later and chug through it myself, but the co-op campaign looks like so much fun and I'd hate to buy the game looking forward to it only to find that all interested parties on GWJ have already completed it and aren't looking to go back anytime soon. Let me know!

Apparently you can't buy multiple copies on GMG with one account. No matter, I now have two GMG accounts.

There was a post here, but then I learned that I'm not so good at reading comprehension any more.

No, that's why I said "360". Sadly, I don't have a souped-up Windows box and likely won't any time soon.

Really, it's not the end of the world, it's just that, in light of all to come, this is likely the last new game I'll be picking up for a really long time, and I want to have an idea of how far that last-new-game business is going to get me. If I do pick it up, that is. If it's not going to get me far, I'll wait until it's cheap or someone wants to trade or something.

I plan to pick it up on 360. I'll probably play a lot of it solo at first. I'll likely be open to playing some co-op later. I imagine a lot of people, like me, won't mind starting a new character to try the different classes. Friend me up. My gamertag is IUMogg. Good Luck

Friended, IUMogg; my gamertag is ianunderhill. I'll bug you once I'm well enough to dive in. Thanks very much.

I'm seriously considering double-dipping on 360. Went ahead and threw out a friend-me-up request.

And friended back. This is looking more and more promising. I'm going to have to be sure to recover well so we can get to it.

It'll give you something to do while you're recovering! All I had was Minecraft and about 60 episodes of Dirty Jobs. Then when I got home from the hospital I tried Left 4 Dead 2 and regretted it almost immediately.

Feel free to friend me up if you like. Link's in my sig.

I am the worst at Interneting... How do I link?

Everyone should make sure you are a part of the Borderlands group to make getting a co-op game going easier. If you aren't a member post a link to your steam community ID and we'll get you an invite.

I would appreciate an invite. Steam link in sig.

Invite please.

You probably can't yet, since you're a grinder. Once you've posted for a while, use the "Link" button between the "Image" button and the "i"talics button, or use the [url=http://] tag.

I tend to take my time with games and I am interested in all the classes this time (first game I really only enjoyed Lilith and Brick) so I figure I will be playing a lot of this one for months after it is released and I am on the 360. The new jump in/jump out co-op should make this a pretty easy game for grouping up in.

I will also be playing on 360 and would be happy to play a little Co-Op.

Can't seem to invite you. Maybe someone already beat me to it.

Yeah I already got him. Sorry, I forget to post sometimes, I just click the name and click invite.

I'm definitely interested in PC co-op if people don't mind a silent partner -- I play late at night when my wife and toddler are asleep, so I can't use a mic. I could definitely get on Vent or whatever others are using so that I can hear other players, I just wouldn't have a mic of my own.

Thanks!

ian, IUMogg, Mantis, Lobster, Rykin et al:

I also will be getting this for 360. If I do anything like I did last time (and I probably will), I'll have multiple toons going simultaneously to play with different groups of folks (and a solo run as well).

EDIT: FRs sent!

That's kind of a deal-breaker for me, I'm afraid. I only play with people who are constantly screaming. Fortunately I'm able to supply a steady stream of things for them to scream about.

Maybe he could rig up an excellent sound board of relevant action movie quotes.

We'd make a good team! I don't play games with the sound on but I could speak into a mic as much as I wanted. So you could listen and I couldn't hear.

Hooray! I'm so glad to hear some folks are eager to play a lot of this on the 360. Looks like I won't be canceling my preorder after all.
