Portal 2 Catch-All

As I posted on the map, that was great. I appreciate the thought, dude.

Awesome.

Hellu everybody,
It was suggested that I should give the people in here a link to a series of puzzle maps I built so you could try them out too. They are maps that were inspired by Valves Left4Dead game. I made 6 of them in all. Like any series of maps, some are better than others. If you only want to try a couple of them I would suggest the 2 Hard Rain maps. (I also am pleased with how the last one, Death Toll turned out.) Here is the link to the collection:

Now I will be directing my efforts elsewhere including the challenges in this forum. I look forward to playing all of your creations as well.

Okay, I have a question. Both Ragin Redneck and Dimmerswitch have solved Smooth Jazz using 1 portal. I've spent a butt load of time trying to figure it out, but I can't do it yet.

My yes or no question is: Is this a satisfying problem to solve? If so, I'll spend more time trying to figure it out. If not, I'll have you guys tell me or youtube it.

No spoilerz pweaz.

As many OCD solutions as you've come up with on those damn challenges, I can confidently say that yes, it will be a satisfying problem for you to solve.

Nice. There goes some more of my time out the window (portal?!?).

Gosh darn it. I'm having a hell of a time trying to figure this out.

A hint that's not much of a spoiler (though spoilered in case you really don't want to read it):

Spoiler:

The game detects if you get things into a state where it's impossible to advance, and takes steps to rectify that. The one-portal solution to Smooth Jazz exploits this mechanic.

I'm gonna take all day deciding whether or not to look at that.

Can't promise I will find the time, but this certainly has me intrigued.

Also, do absolutely join our weekly competitions.

Hey guys!!

It's been some time since I last posted some maps. Been busy on the Challenge Map. Anyways, here are 2 new ones:

SO YOU DON'T FORGET WHO MADE THE MAP. It's built right in!

This one was inspired by the current Companion Cube challenge. More specifically, it was inspired by Dimmer's snapshot of his entry. No joke! I haven't actually played that map yet, so apologies if this emulates that one a little too closely

Anyways, this one requires a tiny bit of explanation. Once you get the cube, there is a switch directly in front of you. Put the cube on the ground past that switch, then push the switch to start the 'machine'. After that, use the various buttons to get the cube to the far right side.

There have been times where the cube has gotten stuck, so fair warning. I don't have the energy to fix it anymore than I already have. It was just a fun map to make, I didn't invest a terribly large amount of time to it

Feedback appreciated!

Heads up for everybody interested, the PeTI has been updated by Valve, and now you can build Co-op maps.

Just received a Portal 2 -75% coupon on Steam that's tradeable if anyone wants it.

I got one of those too and I have no idea why.

Pretty much everyone just got this. Since the map editor just released today Co-op map building, they gave every owner the coupon to get a partner to play.

I just saw a post about this coupon in the Trading Post thread. Should it be in my email or is it somewhere in the steam client? I ask because I've had Portal 2 since launch but either didn't receive or just haven't found this coupon code.

I have a buddy who somehow doesn't have Portal 1 or 2 on steam, and I was looking to use the code to set him up. To be honest, I'm really baffled how he doesn't have Portal 1 since it has been free multiple times so I'm reluctant to drop $10 on it at this point.

EDIT: LilCodger graciously passed along his 75% off Portal 2 coupon, and I've used it to remedy my buddy's lack of Portal 2. Thanks again LilCodger.

I just released a collection I've been working on. A while back I had a quirky idea that one could make a Frogger game out of Portal 2 so i made a quick one. It was well received but people told me it should be harder and longer so I set out to do that.
I incorporated BeeMod for a couple of things to create what I made. You do not need BeeMod to play these though.

Here is a set of 3 maps... Frogger, Frogger 2 -Solo and Frogger 2 - Two player Competitive.

Feedback is welcome and appreciated!

Late to the party here, but I just got my 75% off coupon. It expires on the 30th, so if anyone wants it, let me know soon!

Hey, Mr Waterhandle here. I've been registered on the steam user forums, and thinkingwithportals.com for a while. I've been making maps pretty much constantly since the editor came out as a hobby besides a, a, job.

So now we have someone besides kexx spamming in this topic occasionally!

I found out about this forum, because I coincidentily made a map that was in line with the previous challenge around the same time, though I didn't read about that until the competition was over. This would've been the map, it might be a bit hard though, just so you know.

Double the Puzzle

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...

Double bill that was generally well received, also the first time I designed puzzles before having a 'concept'.

I usually try to make unique chambers with a 'concept' i haven't seen before like this:

Light Glider
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...

My latest map:

The Rollercoaster.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...

(for people who don't like rollercoaster maps, it actually is one, though a parody of them, though probably not for people who actually like rollercoaster maps either, since it makes the concept ridiculous, not sure why I made this!)

Welcome to the forums! As the welcomer, I should probably tell you that the reason your tags aren't working is because you're new. After you graduate from Coffee Grinder (the forum title under your name), you'll be allowed proper use of BBCode. It only takes around 10 posts, as I recall.

Edit: Also, the thread specific to our level jam can be found here: http://www.gamerswithjobs.com/node/1...

Thanks! I figured that was the case. Thanks for the link, I might enter. Maybe. If I can get a map I'm working on done today.

So that things will be linkable-
