I've seen the first 5-6 episodes of season one now.

Each episode gets better and Abed is easily the best character right from the start.

Just wait, man, and keep watching. You have quite the ride ahead of you. Abed was my favorite at first too.

I had no idea season one was going to be this good. Everyone I've talked to about the show said that it didn't hit its stride until the D&D episode.

I didn't think I laughed in the first episode, but with each episode they gained momentum. By the end of the season I was laughing at just about everything that happened.

I've also come to realize even more that when Jeff and Abed have such a great understanding of each other and they can be completely comfortable with each other.

I don't remember the first episode I saw anymore but I'm looking forward to re-watching season 2.

Yaaaay!

Whoa...

Malcolm McDowell heads to Greendale

He's poised to appear in two episodes as Professor Cornwallis.

LOVE it.

Dan Harmon did an AMA on Reddit. Very interesting stuff. At one point he says he doesn't think Chevy Chase understands most of the jokes on the show.

That's been talked about in several commentaries by Dan, other writers, and other actors. Like the one tag this year that Chevy got to do where it was Pierce and the ice cream machine. Hilarious gag, classic comedy, and he pulled it off great. But most of the tags and other jokes, whoosh.

There was even one tag that someone else ended up filling in for because Chevy left that day or something, and didn't want to be in the tag that was planned.

If it's a choice between the one or two Chevy-appropriate jokes every show and the other 20 minutes, aka choice between Chevy and Dan, I'd go with Dan. Sadly NBC doesn't see it that way.

I'm just hoping the writers that stuck around can muddle enough stuff together to get us to a graduation this year, and still go out on a decent note.

I watched the Halloween episode last night w/commentary and it echoes exactly what Stele said. Harmon said Chevy was in a really good mood during the shooting because he got the jokes, ie, punching someone with your dick. But Harmon didn't blame Chevy. He just said that Star Wars references, etc., aren't something Chevy gets, nor is he really expected to.

Yvette on Morning After, talking about the upcoming season.

Even you haven't heard yet, Community's season premiere has been delayed indefinitely. NBC wants to focus on promoting they're new shows that are on earlier in the week. The only bright side is that if any of the new shows tank, they might move Community to a better night.

Q, look at your dates. Oct 5, and 7. Everything changed Oct 9.

In a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, NBC confirms that both Community and Whitney have been moved from an Oct. 19 premiere to an unspecified new date.

The reason? They say to build on the momentum of the network's freshman shows and to give Community and Whitney a bigger marketing push.

No one believes you when you say you are going to give Whitney a 'bigger marketing push'.
No one.

I've been clinging to the analysis that says this is a good sign like a Titanic survivor to a raft made of corpses.

I don't know anyone who watches Whitney, for real, not in the usual umbrage way where someone says that for effect. Anyone I know with taste that bad only watches CBS comedies.

Yellek and I watch Whitney. For realz! I think it's funny. The main characters are very sarcastic with acerbic wit, especially to each other. The original commercials for the show did it a real disservice.

Just shoop Jeff and A-bed into the gif you were sent.

The idea that Chevy Chase doesn't get the jokes is so meta it makes me think it was somehow perfectly planned from the beginning.

I wonder if Whitney watchers (Q doesn't count) think the same about Community.

I count! I count!

I think it's been pretty well proven by now that the only people who think about Community are the viewers of Community.

Joel McHale is apparently supposed to be on Jimmy Kimmel tonight. Not sure what they're going to talk about since the show is delayed. Maybe there will be a clip of the premiere?
