Well, this is gonna get really old really quick. NSFW. Le sigh. Sorry for saying so many dumb things in the thread today, Hyetal. I believe my brain has been elsewhere. :)
Haha. I see what you mean. I think someone else mentioned this, but it would certainly be nice if we could toggle the game hubs to Friend-only submissions.
So far I don't like the look at all, plus I had to disable PixelVision just to be able to see the Friends tab.
He's already updated it. http://www.mediafire.com/?q6m5gtr1oe...

WOO!
Edit: Ah, much better.
If anyone needs a beta invite, I have a spare. Friend me up on Steam and send me a message! Coffee Grinders need not apply, as I have plenty of coffee already.
Big picture beta in "early September" - http://www.shacknews.com/article/753....
I'm guessing we'll see it in October.
Am I crazy or did the latest client update make it a bit more responsive?
Wait, who was saying they wanted more than games on Steam, again?
Anyone around here?
Well, it means I could have the steam client installed on my work PC.

Legitimately.
Yeah, there's a part of me that wants others to know when I'm in ZBrush or Maya, just because. It'd be great if I could get the Steam overlay with ZBrush to take screencaps, actually!
It can do that already, can't it? Just register a non-Steam "game", and launch it from the Steam UI -- you should get the regular overlay, with shift-tab and F12 screenshot ability.
I also have a beta community invite if anyone is interested.
DM me or hit me up on Steam.
If there's any extra invites I'd be much obliged.

It feels a touch snappier to me as well. Not much but it's not as sluggish as it was last week.

Sweet, I'm in. Muchas Gracias.

Tried it last night-- Shift+Tab/Overlay and screenshots don't work in ZBrush
I have an invite if anyone wants in.
I also have an invite if anyone wants it. PM me.
oh hey, I've got 2 invites if somebody wants them, send me a PM.
Greenlight is live.
Greenlight is live.
Oh man. This can't possibly get worse than the garbage in the Steam Workshops... right?

Dunno. Went from 2 pages to 7 in about 30 minutes... Will have to vote when I get home tonight.
I've never seen so much art that made me not want to play games.

I don't know. There's something about this one but I can't seem to put my finger in it...
LOL
Gone already.

Gone already.
Haha, oh well... there goes my joke!
The game was "Butt Pirates"
As much as I dislike the new game HUBs for all the junk the community dumps into it an up vote... I can't help but smile that one of my Just Cause 2 videos has been crawling up to the top of the hub this last week. :p
Update has gone live.
For those that use PixelVision (or would like to try it), here is the latest version. The creator has also made a Steam group.

Nice, thanks! I've been using it ever since you mentioned it a while ago.
There's an article in the New York Times about Valve. The thing that jumped out at me was this:
On Monday, the company will begin a public test of a new television-friendly interface, Big Picture, for buying Steam games and playing them on computers in the living room.

Yes, but WHICH monday?
It was also noted a few days ago that the linux beta was added to the content description record.

I think a general "early September" beta was mentioned in passing last month in another article about some other Valve projects. Of course, I disconnected my computer from the TV after the move so I'll have to see if the HDMI cable will reach that far now. Not sure about the range on my wireless controllers though
Also, general application sales are supposed to be starting soon.
