Borderlands (catch all)

Yeah I remember using that config thing way back when. I think my W key is bound to forward movement and resetting the FOV. So that pretty much takes care of it all the time.

I actually played around with my Siren for a bit last night. She was only 52, and nearly done with the 2nd playthrough. I think she's only done one of the DLC.

Still a very fun game. Definitely ready for the 2nd one though.

Still got the dlcs to finish.

This game is always better in coop. Anyone up for DrNed or the armory?

DrNed or Moxxy, don't forget to activate its drm.

PC version? Sure. What lvl range?

Anyone want to run through the Salt flats? My sniper is around level 33.

I still need to do all the DLC for this. You caught me last night tinkering around with a fresh re-install from Steam so I wasn't really in any shape to play then. I might be interested in meeting up at some point, although that really depends on what I feel like playing at the time. Which time zone are you in?

Eastern.. I normaly play at 10PM, for like 1-2 hours. RL stuff as well prevent me from playing sooner.

On Steam, if my status is Online, I'm at the computer tinkering with stuff as well (Reading comic, forums, or stuff). Just send me an IM, I'll get back to you quickly. Even if I'm into a game. Borderlands is the game currently on top of my pile, I want it done before BL2 drop.

Yeah, Pc, only the PC version do have DRM.. On Windows 7, you must alt-tab out to activate it, but you need to copy paste the cd-key before doing that, or else it will block you from going anywhere.

EDIT : Oh, I'm level 40. but if you have done the Playthrough 1, guess we are are safe from +/-8 levels.

Humm, I could play either on Friday/Saturday or Sunday night. This job switch isn't nice in my sleeping schedule...

I might be interested in hitting the Dr. Ned content this weekend. Preferably Friday or Sunday night for an hour or two.

Its funny. Like I said a few posts up, I tried playing my mordecai and soldier and was frustrated with the weapons I had on me.

I developed an itch to hear the intro song again so I fired up a new Brick. I hated this class when the game launched. I did not get him at all and only got him as high as 13. But for some reason, the fresh start has been a lot of fun with him.

I am sort of using him like a siren where the berserk mode is just used to duck behind a corner and heal. I have a nice scoped repeater pistol and recently looted a purple smg. I am pretty much back to where I left off before at level 10 and about to off Bonehead.

I think it is crazy how your playstyles change all the time. Or maybe that it is while your twitch skills diminish as you age, you gain more variety in playstyle.

Finally, after 40 hours over several years, I've beat the main story line. The way to the vault was probably the best part of the game. The vault itself was like the main game: c***blockingly disappointing. Tannis didn't even offer any kind of reward.

In case I want to take a look at the DLCs, what order should they be enjoyed in? Are they just more of the same or do any of them show that Gearbox learned something with regards to gunplay, encounter/enemy design or story? I am 100% sure I'll never do a second playthrough of this game, so I am not married to completing or even trying them all.

I actually loved that ending. Speaking of the nether regions, I couldn't believe the had the gonads to do that.

While it's hard to give advice to someone in a situation where our experiences vary this much, I'll say that I liked Dr. Zed and General Knoxx even more with regard to story and design. I think most people would say that Dr. Zed was better, and General Knoxx is where they really hit their stride.

On the other hand, if you found the game that disappointing, I'm not sure you'd be missing much by skipping the DLC. It's kind of a quirky game, and it makes sense that a lot of the people who love it *really* love it, and a lot of the people who are disappointed by it are *really* disappointed by it. Like I agree with you 100% that the vault itself was like the main game: we just had different experiences of the main game.

Skip Mad Moxi unless you really like long grindy horde mode type things. Other than that the DLC is good.

Skip playing it, but make heavy use of the stash it gives you.

I particularly liked the Zed DLC. It really captures that kitschy pulp movie horror vibe. And it actually makes Explosive weapons super-awesome. There's nothing like catching 15 zombies in a large blast to make me cackle with glee.

I loved using my Incendiary Bouncing Betty grenades.

I did a bit of Moxxi's Underdome with Manach the other day; it's a nice break from the regular game IMO. Some of Moxxi's commentary alone made it worthwhile for me at least.

As an aside, I've been playing a fairly obscene amount of this lately. 2 needs to hurry and launch already.

The only one of the DLC's I really enjoyed was Dr. Zed. The rest were just 'good enough'. Then again, I don't tend to care for DLC.

I fired this up again over the weekend for the first time in 2 1/2 years. Am I insane, or did they patch out the intro song? It's been so long, I could be misremembering, but doesn't it play on the starting screen?

I forgot how much I enjoyed this game, and I never finished it. I must've been distracted by some other shiny. I'm just about finished now (I think I'm on the last mission), and now I really want to pick up the sequel.

You have to wait a few seconds on the "hit enter" screen for it to play.

Eeeexcellent.

Soooo, to dig up an old thread, I thought I would see what the community was like for anyone still playing (or just getting Borderlands 1 this Steam sale, thanks again Grumpicus!) this on PC. Is there anyone still around or any new players on Steam?

I know everyone probably got Borderlands 2, but I was always curious about the franchise and might as well check this out if I can the way it was meant to be played.

I've also heard that's it's hard to get people in your game because of the way this first one was designed. Is that still a thing?

I got both 1 and 2 recently, so friend me up.

I finally got around to picking up the DLC for the first game, so I'd be up for multiplayer. (Itsatrap in-game)

Awesome! Will add ya both and we'll have to do some running around with guns sometime soon!

I am up for some multiplayer. I think i am 'eyeresearcher' in game.

I picked up the first one during the last sale and would be up for some multiplayer. Friend me up.

I am playing some Borderlands. Add me as 'eyeresearcher' in game. Let's do some co-op.

Anyone up for co-op Friday at 10pm EST?

I won't be able to play until after the new year unfortunately.
