It used to be I'd propose a Mazda, but now nearly all of them have that big dopey grill grin.

ERMAGHERD, is your car laughing at me?!

Also, why is it eating that leaf?

It looks so happy!

Nice parking job! /sarcasm

:P

I was pissed because someone had parked in all the parking spaces behind my apartment complex. Besides it was a quite street with little traffic; so no big worries in getting hit sitting those extra few inches away from the curb.

I need to take some new pics now that the windows are tinted.

Covering the genitals, like a painting of Adam.

Its genitals are on its chin?

I cant believe I'm saying this, but "Covering the genitals" is different from "Covering it's genitals" >.<

I thought only Peter Griffin has balls on his chin.

Shouldn't it be, " Ermagherd, ers dur curd lerfin ert mer?

goman - I totally agree with you on the JX vs the MDX. We went car shopping yesterday and liked almost everything about the JX. I had several of the same comparative thoughts - particularly that the MDX's second row doesn't adjust, making the third row suitable only for shorter folks and kids. I sat comfortably in the third row of the JX once the 2nd row scooted forward a bit. This is an unlikely real-world scenario, but it's nice to have the option.

The MDX was also more expensive on the sticker, although the dealership was talking about knocking enough off to possibly give it a slight edge. Because we didn't like the seating nor price compared to the JX, we didn't test drive.

Other cars we saw:

Mazda CX-9 - *Extremely* impressive, especially for the price. It compares well with the JX in terms of configurability. The only problem is that Mazda is shooting for the performance segment, which my wife does not appreciate much at all, and I agree when it comes to an SUV. She really disliked the rougher ride, and she felt the road noise was the worst all day. The manager really wanted to sell one, and offered us some amazing deals.

Buick Enclave: I love the captain's chairs in the 2nd row. We had seen the Enclave 6 months ago, and it was probably the leader before the day began. However, the previous time the salesman drove it, and we didn't. This time we both did, and neither of us cared for the way it drove. I also absolutely hated the stupid black mesh cover that sits under the passenger sunroof. Why you wouldn't use a solid interior cover is beyond me - I've never seen anything like this. The sun was clearly visible, and coincidently I was the hottest I was all day.

Am I wrong, or shouldn't all interior covers be solid and colored white on top? Anyway, we were both surprised to be so turned off by the Enclave after liking it previously.

The only other stop was the first of the day, but we barely spent any time. My wife is super interested in the Highlander Hybrid, but this place had no showroom and it was a July day in Houston. Our salesman also seemed pretty uninterested in showing us their cars. From what we could ascertain with minimal help, the Highlander wasn't quite large enough for us, and possibly neither was the Fourrunner. Hard to tell under the circumstances, though.

Anyone have anything to add? goman, I'd love to hear more about how the JX is treating you, good or bad. I've had great experiences with my two Infinitis.

FYI, I just discovered a website that lists great driving roads all over the country with zoomable Google maps, GPS directions, and everything. You can search by state and region. Enjoy!

I was raised in West Virginia and man, there are some amazing roads to drive on there. When I had my Vette, sometimes, I would just take the top off and drive up the mountain for no reason. so fun. I would assume it would be the same for a bike, but for the most part, the riders I ran into just rode like douches... so I would assume it's fun for people who can ride like they have some sense.

Tail of the Dragon's great fun on the TN/NC border not that far from where I grew up. At least when the police aren't out too much.

Growing up only 30 minutes from The Blue Ridge Parkway, it is a good road for scenic views. It is not for drivers that want to drive, because the speed limit is 35 the entire length.

Some of it is 45.

And 25.

I've been expecting something to go wrong with my RX-8 for a while now based on its age/mileage - and lo and behold, it's developed a water leak into the engine due either to a dead water seal or a cracked rotor housing. Time for an engine rebuild! :s

I did like the mechanic's summary of the problem :"Right now, you have a steam engine rather than a rotary engine."

Sounds like a good guy.

This thread reminded me to go get more oil for my car today. Go team.

Finally got a picture over to my "sponsor", AWE tuning, as part of the deal i got on the parts.

Motor Trend makes me sick anymore, but this is pretty cool.

That the GTR and the GT500 are as close as they are is amazing considering the vast price difference between the cars ahead of them.

I'd still take the BRZ in a heartbeat.

I dunno. If I could afford *any* of those cars I'd be ecstatic I think. BRZ included.

We could afford a BRZ, but we're a one-car family and it's not practical (or is it...?). But even if we could afford an Aventador, I'd still want the 200 hp car.

Orrrrr the GTR. If you twisted my arm. And I was a way more experienced driver.

I just imagine the driver in the BRZ being all salty.

"This is stupid. 25k 4 banger vs 600+hp v12..."

I'm glad he slid over the line. I would of started drifting around way before the end.

I wish there was an Ariel Atom in that drag race.

Regular, or turbocharged V8? Not that it would matter, either would spank that crowd.

Haha yeah, that was a classy move by the driver. Good for him. The Lambo that won was literally fifteen times the MSRP of his ride.
