DDO Orien server catch all - Static Group nights Tuesday and Thursday 8PM EST

So it was a club of the seeker and it was great for the whole 3 minutes I used it until I looted a +2 heavy mace. And then I looted a +2 quarterstaff of acid touch. Oh man if I had rolled a dwarf or wanted to use/waste a feat on bastard sword. I have found some nice ones of those.

Crippling weapons seem to be the most common property found by my cleric. I also have been getting some great plate and half plate rewards with elemental damage returned when I get hit.

I think the quarterstaff may be gimped in the glancing blow department. The great axe seems to have much longer range. I can't tell but it seems my heavy mace is getting the same amount of glancing blows as my quarterstaff. I admit they may not be glancing blows. It may just be the erratic targeting against a mass of kobolds that jump around frequently.

Yeah what you are seeing on your heavy mace is not glancing blows. Only 2 handed weapons, bastard swords and Dwarven Axes can get glancing blows. Qstaff should have the same range and glancing blow chance as any other two handed weapon. You can also get glancing blows when fighting a single target which will get added on top of your normal hits.

Do they have a little sort of spark icon next to the damage number if it is glancing? It sort of looks like the top left 1/4 of an 8 pointed star.

Nope, that is a grazing hit. You get those when your to hit roll was to low to hit but higher then a 1 or a 2. Grazing hits do partial damage.

Thanks everyone for a successful raid!

If anyone's got another stone of experience layin' around, I'd gladly take it <,<

I want to jump my Artificer to 16 so I can farm items for my fighter.

Edit: Got one!

Gratz! My advice now is doing the 10-14 quests to get better loot. Also, don't level up beyond L16 even if you qualify, just so you can still do the lower level quests. I'm about 2 bars away form L18 but I'm gonna stay 16 as long as I can So many quests.

And Astir (My Bard) is always looking for an adventuring companion.

Yeah I was planning on doing some lower level stuff to get money for all the dumb artificer scrolls and inscription materials I need now >_<

They gave me some level-appropriate gear, but no weapons, so I need to work on that.

What kind of bonuses are expected as you hit the two-digit levels? Desandra has a +10 Spot Ring at level 8, and I have seen +6 Outfits that I could have taken if I didn't want to give up on my +5 Mobility Outfit. Do the enhancements on weapons and armor really go that much past 6?

You get +6 attribute items about L12-14, eg. +6 Cha or +6Int. +5 are almost a given, the +6 is a little harder to find but not terrible.

+4 & +5 items are much more common, but I think at higher levels you're more interested in effets, like the Envenomed Blade which you can get from "Lords of the Dust" is a good choice despite being only a +4.

This also drops in "Lords of the Dust" (L16).
Golden Guile - Necklace - Dusk, Diplomacy +15, Bluff +15, Improved Deception

Envenomed Blade - Short Sword - +4, Poison BurstPoison Burst:This weapon is dripping with poison, and deals 1d6 points of poison damage on a successful hit, critical hits deal an additional 1d10 poison damage for weapons with a x2 critical multiplier, 2d10 for a x3 multiplier and 3d10 for a x4 multiplier, Paralyzing, Armor-Piercing - 10%, Deadly Spider Venom, uses Dex mod or Str mod for Attack and Damage, whichever is highest

A +15 on skills is pretty much the highest you will find until epic levels, then you might see some +20's. +6 con is always good to have along with a +6 of what your classes primary stat is.

Also every character needs to make sure they have a Heavy Fortification item and a Deathblock item by your early teens.

As for weapons, your best bet to to look at the named items that drop from specific quests, or start running the Vale of Twilight quests to collect green steel crafting ingredients.

Heya ddoers staying late at work tonight and vacationing in Canada next week so I won't see you for a few sessions. I'll be sure to catch Nightrun up to the appropriate level upon my return. Sorry for the late notice.

Bought a new laptop yesterday. DDO looks soooo pretty now. I'm looking forward to tonight!

Sorry for the late notice but I am not going to be able to play tonight.

Edit: Turns out we are either too low leveled or too newbie for Chronoscope on elite!

Just a heads up, I may not make it this week's sessions. I'm on vacation (so, theoretically, it should be easier), but we're on vacation with family. But we'll see what the evenings are like.

Fyi Menace of the Underdark is 50% off all day tomorrow Aug 15th.

Yay! Damn it too much stuff at once grrr...

I should not be complaining ;P

I might be half an hour or so late tonight. Go ahead and start without me and I will join you when I can.

FYI the expansion is on sale for 50% off on steam as well. Do you guys use the steam enabled client? I don't but wondered if that is what you guys are using to sync up play time.

Thanks for the Stone of Experience last night! Desandra will miss running with you guys, but Atrasina is happy to have had the chance. It was pretty funny having a party of 2 Rogues, 2 Paladins and a Bard - it even worked pretty well, too. I built Atrasina to be a Trapper, always putting points into Spot, Search, Disable Device and Open Locks, but the Caged Trolls quest's traps were so high that I couldn't even get a notification about them unless I was rocking my Action Boosts. At least I didn't roll any natural 1s to cause a control panel to blow up in my face. In a few more ranks, I will be able to start using my totally awesome Repeating Crossbow so hopefully I will be able to contribute to damage a bit more than I was doing last night.

Are the Underdark adventure packs not included in VIP membership? I prefer to just be a VIP at all times when playing so if they're included, the only draws there are the tome and the points.

Edit: Someone answer today before the value scampers off!

They are not. The Underdark content is a full fledged expansion and not included as a VIP perk.

Later this month you should also be able to buy the contend with turbine points if you want to go that route.

Trigger pulled on Steam.

Thanks, Arovin. I bought it.

People with level 16 characters - any interest in trying to organize a night to play those characters?

I just bought it too =)

If there are enough of us, we could dedicate one of the two nights to high levels.

I had heard that Tuesday, the 20th, would be the last day to use the Stones of Experience. I currently have 2, and should get a third if I used one. If you have a level 8 character that you want to bring up to 16, I can do it for you.

On the subject of stones, I just rolled a Sorc for that express purpose. I don't suppose I could get a hand with getting her a level?

edit - even a quick go here, go there quest guide would be awesome.

I have a 7 monk I could run with you. My usual path from 7-8 (I've done it three times) is Delera's Tomb, Phiarlan Carnival, and a bit of Three Barrel Cove. Tonight's no good as I'm committed to play Syndicate, Friday after 5 eastern and Sat/Sun after 2 are good also.

I know at least 5 do - me (artificer), you (did they fix your wizard?), emlyn (bard), Zeezrom (wizard), Desandra (monk). I want to say there's one more I'm forgetting.
