London Olympics 2012

Two more golds for GB, in the long jump and 10,000 metres. Imagine being in that stadium tonight.

I bet there was pressure to avoid running up the score. It's likely there was some negative feedback about it and the attitude.

I don't mean to be creepy, but Jessica Ennis.

What's creepy about that? She's 26.

GB - SK going to penalties?!?!

I just got home.

It's just that there's SO much focus on attractive athletes' attractiveness. That's not the whole or main reason I mentioned her. I was really impressed with her focus and determination. But I also noticed she's way easy on the eyes.

Did I miss something?

GB go out on penalties, as usual.

Ah.

To be honest, GB football is a long way down the interest lst for us, primarily because this is the only event where there is a GB side as opposed to the four individual nations - and the Scots and NI. Associations advised their players not to make themselves available anyway. So getting out of the groups was actually a reasonable performance.

What a night! This has to be one of the greatest nights in British Olympic History. The nation as one is buzzing at the moment, Ennis and Mo were sort of expected but for Rutherford to win the long jump was incrediable, talk about feeding off the energy. Cannot wait to get down there tomorrow. Once in a life time event.

Oh and GB are now 3rd in the medal table and top if you do it as an average of popluation

What've you got tickets for ?

Hockey (including GB v AUS), Table Tennis (semi finals), Athletics (morning session but you know will be in the stadium) and Taekwondo (medal fights for the lightest weight cats).

Hockey = Field Hockey?

Wow you guys really did kick ass today. Passed up Japan and Russia on overall medals and up to 15 golds. Well done.

Yes

Did this thread already discuss the Mexican gymnast doing her floor routine to the Zelda theme?

. We've been hoping to see boxing but missed it.

I think NBC runs boxing on CNBC outside of business hours.

Yeah it's been on CNBC everyday from like noon-6pm eastern.

Kinda like tennis has been on Bravo every day from 7am-3pm.

Even though they aren't the designated sports channels like Comcast's basketball and soccer channels, they might as well be so far.

MSNBC, NBC Sports and regular NBC show all kinds of variety though.

Well, I want to find some alternative source of coverage. We don't have cable, so can't watch the channels nor stream from NBC's site.

Pretty sure people are streaming the BBC feeds out there somewhere...

I think http://www.thefirstrow.eu/ has some Olympic feeds.

As much as I hate the concept of penalties, and despite my British citizenship... daehaminguk!

S. Korea is the most entertaining team to cheer for in football

SK actually played very well, and should perhaps have won the game in normal time. They had a couple of good opportunities from set pieces very late on, particularly after Richards went off.

Sturridge's stutter-step was a mistake, should never give the keeper extra time to make up his mind. Saying that, the GB keeper had no chance with any of the spot kicks.

Oh sweet. China-Australia heading to penalty shots in women's water polo, right now.

MSNBC if you're in the US.

I contracted a case of the warm-fuzzles watching Andy Murray win gold.

I thought that I would tune in for the last set of Murray/ Fed, only to find a medal ceremony going in! I hoped tat Murray would win, but I never dreamed that he would demolish Federer in 3 sets.
