Really, Devs said it was fixed. At least it is a very limited occurrence. I play a lot of man coverage and I had been getting snookered quite a bit in my pubbie pick up games.

I don't think there was anything veiled about my comments. I'm not running the league, so I have no say.

But yeah, I still feel the same as I did years ago, that playing in a legue with you sucks. There is no fun in playing someone who you can only beat by exploiting the AI. Seriously, if I took all of your suggestions, improved my skill, and then competed with you, it would ruin the rest of the game for me. And beating you provides way less enjoyment than just enjoying the game.

You call it realistic, but you want to limit your playbook to the few plays you know will beaat up on a weak AI. You want to run defenses that no team would run every down, but again, it exploits the weak AI. There is an entire niche of guys who get the game just like you. They can provide a challenge. But instead you want to play with a group of guys that struggle on AA.

You complain about the time, yet you end up with a pretty average number of plays for a no-huddle pass heavy guy.

Worse, the only time I played you in Madden I endured you commentary (later I learned it was you talking to your son and ignoring me) about the great playcalls and reads you made as you demolished me. This was countered with a few good plays to me being followed with criticism of the AI for being so weak as to let that happen. Flat out, the worst online experience I have had with a Goodjer.

I commented after you decided to cry about the time and slow play that was so awful you dropped your controller out of boredom. Yet you joined the OD AFTER you saw the settings. Crank up a nifty 5 minute OD with your more exciting settings and have all the fun you want. I'm sure some folks would like to play with you.

From now on I will just praise your mad skills in a game that "gives you fits." I didn't mean to hurt your feelings by letting you know that some guys had an OD with settings that might come closer to matching your skills.

You are far from hurting my feelings. I apologized to you way back when about that game because I didn't even realize you could hear me talking about the game with my son, done apologizing over that regrettable incident. Glad you left your passive-aggressive commentary behind. Not sure how 20-30 plays from 5-6 formations is limited. You got butt hurt playing me because the things you wanted to work didn't. I wasnt complaining about the settings I was commenting on my thoughts on their impact to me. No different than your thoughts on sliders and settings. I didnt drop my controller out of boredom i dropped it cause it was slick. You have wanked and whined through 3 iterations of football whenever something wasn't in line with what YOU wanted. I have never offered an exploit or anything remotely like an exploit. All I have ever offered was advice on gameplay and football mechanics similar to the way I have coached youth football. Watching the way safeties rotate is key to a QB reading the defense post snap, watching if the CBs rotate their hips and take a certain position vice back pedaling can indicate zone or man - these aren't AI exploits - its football. Using the settings and hot routes or audibles is good football strategy. If the core of your Defense is your LBs and dline than run defenses that maximize their strengths. If you dont want to get into the lab and find offensive plays that help you pass protect, beat certain coverages giving you easy read progressions or utilize slide protection than take your defeat like a man and move on. You don't want my advice than don't take it, but don't imply I am exploiting AI or cheating because I kicked your ass in a game and I am not afraid to call you out on your comments - that's just sour grapes and maybe, just maybe I am actually good at football. I can't play TF2 or Starcraft worth a crap, but football I know and love. You have your feelings on me and I have mine regarding you so we can move on and play some ball.

Yep, I was right to avoid leagues you play in.

Sorry guys, I will take my butt hurt feelings and play solo.

Don't quit on my account. I have read all of the posts in the leagues over the last couple of years and you are passionate about college football and this game. I can appreciate that. I think it's pretty weak that you are quitting because I rebutted your comments, took you to task, and your judgement of me from a limited experience 3 yrs ago. This stinks of "I cant have my way so i am taking my ball and leaving". You want to say what you want to say, but get bent when someone has a counter argument. We haven't even played a game and you are martyring yourself and villainizing me. You have a lot more time invested in the leagues and I don't want to ruin the Jayhawker club and experience so I can drop from the OD; My "kind" not being welcome here. I have spent almost 20 years as a Naval Officer and this may be the silliest drama I have been privy to.

To be honest, watching a safety to get reads is kind of an exploit because the game does some STUPID things automatically with safeties that you CAN'T control. Sure, I could control the safety when I play against humans but who the hell wants to do that?

Yes, in real football, a QB can do that to play the odds on how that guy is going to drop back in coverage. But in a video game where it's out of a persons hands, it sucks. Nothing you can really do about it because that's the way EA wants their game to be played.

Its not anyone's fault but the programmer's

What I meant was rotation in or out, if they rotate out means they are more concerned with corner routes which leaves some middle seam or post opportunities. Rotate in means you may have some corner route opportunities. That's just a fancy way of saying work through your QB route progression and throw to the open art of the field. I think safety play this year is pretty good. If you want to avoid getting beat deep, change your defense setting to conservative for zone coverage, they'll drop back further, but you become more vulnerable to the short pass.

Guys, I had to drop out of the league because of the whole moving thing (which is this weekend and can't come soon enough!). I realize I really have no input here so take what I say with a grain of salt. I have played Wil (Spynavy) several times in different football games from 2K5 on up. I think I got lucky and won one of those, but for the most part he has had his way with me. I always tried to watch the way he played and learn from it. He could beat me so easily because he really takes the time to learn the game! Not to exploit it, but learn it the same way opposing coaches study and learn all they can about future opponents. There is not a thing in the world wrong with that. If you want to beat him, then man up, learn the game and you will still need to absolutely bring your "A" game because he is that good! You have to earn that victory, just like in real football!

Look, Spy doesn't need me to defend him. His history here and character speaks for themselves. But if he says he is not using any exploits and just knows the game well, I 100% believe him. Jay, instead of backing out, maybe have it make you angry (in a video game kind of way) and motivate you to play even better so people are pissed when they play you! I admit playing Spy is a bit intimidating because of his skill, but I liken him to the team of St. Louis when they were the "Greatest Show on Turf." You pretty much knew what they were going to do. All you had to do was stop them.

Just like Spy. All you have to do is stop him and impose your will on him. I'm sure you are up to it. As good as he is, Spy is just a man, not a machine and 100% beatable. Just not by me apparently...

Spy I am good tonight say around 945 if that works for you.

Fresno State rolls into Eugene and beats #4 Oregon 31-27. The defense took 3 quarters to learn how to stop the Ducks offense and hit some big passes in the end to come ROSES!

That should work.

Thanks for the game Willhouse. You had some bad wide open drops. I highly suggest going into the adjustments at the play all screen and changing catching to conservative (less cases of dropsies), get open to aggressive (will help get behind the defense if you have time in the pocket), and big run to conservative so you eliminate fumbles as long as you are covering the ball.

FYI, I'll be out of town this weekend so I won't be able to do anything until Sunday night for the upcoming week.

Likewise, I'm gone from Saturday through Saturday (Aug. 4 – 11). I could probably be convinced to let the CPU hammer out my week 4 game, IU vs. Michigan. I have a bye during week 5.

Same here for me. I will gone from Saturday night (August 4th) until some time Sunday (August 12). I will do as much as I can online.

I'll be out of town for GENCON and then work from the 14th to the 31st, any recommendations for eating near Ft. Huachuca and China Lake welcomed. Not sure if hotel networks support an Xbox. I'd like to get my next game done before Wednesday and then just do what you have to for those weeks. I'll be gone briefly to Hawaii in mid Sept for work again, but hope that won't impact the league.

Temple hangs on to beat Tennessee 31-28 in the season opener at the Linc.

Things I liked:
-I saw a couple of plays where my wide open guy dropped the ball. I feel like if you were wide open, and the ball was thrown to you in NCAA12, you caught it 99% of the time.
-Penalties weren't too bad, though they came in clumps for me in the first half. I believe the Vols had 1 penalty the whole game, but it was a huge face mask penalty that gave me 1st and 10 on their 18.

Things I didn't like:
-I didn't see the opposing team drop wide open passes.
-Holy block in the back Batman! I saw several by the Vols without some sort of penalty, and there were two huge BitB agaisnt me on the long Vol TD I saved (#14 and #47 were both shoved from behind, and there was a borderline BitB before those on that play as well). BitB are illegal in real life, they should be illegal in the game as well.

I raised the clipping penalties because like Kush, I was noticing that too.

I lowered the WR catching on the AI side. It was at 45 with the human side so let me know if you guys notice any differences. In my offline Cincy dynasty, my receivers were averaging 4-5 drops a game. The AI was getting about 2-3.

I also lowered the Min Player speed threshold to 25 as my 92 speed halfback in my offline dynasty was getting run down by 82 speed linebackers. I think the problem with this is the acceleration stat. A lot of linebackers in the game have big acceleration ratings which is why you see the speed burst when you try and get to the sideline

To be clear:

1) It's not a vacation, but honest to goodness work...supposedly. In Holland. I'm sure they have no beer here. Or other things.

2) Shag is gone, too!!!!

Hoosier can you play around 9pm est tonight? If not I'm available all week 8-11pm est.

Western with a few lucky turnovers in the red zone gets by Clemson 42-21.

Nice, Clemson's offense is something to behold.

Panthers down Miami University. I threw 5-6 picks, my timing was way off and it was ugly. Too streaky for my tastes, I had some balls just mysteriously go in unplanned directions. Defense was strong again, going to work on the 4-6 Bear next.

I am fine with the league moving on to next week while I am away and I am the last one done.

Where's Hoosierjoe?

Hey I think Thursday might be the best night for me. It's possible that I could get a game in later on Wednesday, but it would have to be after 10:00 ET probably. Got your FR.

Ok see you Thursday. Saw you on last night sent you a message but guess you were having fun in Battlefield

Yeah, sorry about that. I can be available after 8:00 tonight.

Ok see you then
