OOH you totally need a video reaction when you unveil that pile of goodies to him!

We're going to do video and pictures, and they will be definitely posted here!

I'm so excited to see this! I'll probably cry.

I got goose bumps when I saw that pile of goodies too, building it with Uncle Trichy will be awesome!!!!!

BRING ON THE DUST!

Okay, I've created a Google Map here. I would love if everyone who contributed posted their location and GWJ name, and if you would like to attach your avatar, that would be really cool too. I'd like as many contributors as possible on here, as well as any well-wishers from the site.

Pardon my ignorance, but how?

Click the red EDIT button. Find your location on a map, and right click. Select Add A Placemark, and fill in the blanks. I've left it as a public map so that anyone can make changes.

There is no red EDIT button for me. How I mine for fish!?

Okay, maybe I don't have a clue how to do this...

You might have to be logged into Google Maps.

I am logged into Google. At least it says I am.

I think I have to send an email inviting collaborators. This may be more trouble than I thought.

Edit: Yes, I do. If you want to put yourself on the map, PM me your email.

you can make the map publicly editable so people don't need invites; and once everyone has added their names you could Make it private/invite only again.

Oh good, it got there. Just getting around to catching up on this thread, I didn't realize I was the hold up.

Tried that. No matter what I do with the settings, it's not allowing visitors to edit the site unless they get an invite.

weird! Oh well.

OK, I've added my spot but I can not for the life of me figure out how to change my Icon!

edit, got it. Click the Icon, Add icon, Add a new Icon.

It redirects me right to the regular Google maps page. I cannot even see the other's pin :c

did you send your email to Trichy?
You will get an email from Google saying he shared a map with you. It will provide you with the editable one.

After a few suggestions, I used part of the funds to purchase Aden, Liam's 8-year-old brother, a Kindle. Aden has been struggling with reading, but a recent eye exam revealed that he needs glasses that could be used to rig the next Hubble telescope. When Aden uses his brother's Kindle, he loves reading, because he can increase the text size. The Kindle arrived yesterday, and will be part of the unveiling tonight.

That is very, very cool!

Oh good grief, there's going to be some serious damn dust in the air tonight. I can already tell.

Dang trichy, I wanna drive 30 minutes up the road to watch this.

Hey Liam don't mind the creepy stranger standing over there watching you get all your cool new swag.

Grenn, did you edit Quintin's description? I love the Total War pro tip. I need to come up with something good today.

Current fave: One does not simply walk into Mordor.

I can come up with something better.

Nah, that's the best advice I can give for Medeival 2. Screw the French. Quitin is merely speaking the truth.

The day of reckoning is upon us. Can't wait to hear about how everything goes over. I daresay it's gonna make a lot of people's days, here.

Actually, I can't see any of the placemarks on the map anymore.

Edit: Oh I think there's an errant space in the map URL.

That is awesome. I love how technology has helped make reading an easier endeavor. My heart sings everytime I read a story about an elderly person who had stopped reading for years who can now do so because of simple things like font management.

I just wanted to chime in and say this is my vote for TotY ... that's Thread of the Year for you not in the know.

Is this a thing?!

That's great. I figured his Mom would work out a sharing sort of deal, but giving the little one something too is a very good thing.
