How did I miss this thread? I'm always down for some BB, but i didnt buy BBCSEX just BBCT and BBCS.. I'm also super hype for P4U, GG and Jojos coming out soon.
A little tip for P4U though.. it doesnt play like GG or BB at all.. it's like KOF, marvel, Jojos and GG had a baby.. then hit it on the head a little. Fun game, but a little tricky to play well. I predict lots of dial -a-combos until people learn the persona break and atribute system.
I may have to pick up Rachel again, she strikes me as being the closest to Elizabeth that there is in BlazBlue. Elizabeth actually looks like a hybrid of Rachel and Arakune, she can inflict Fear on her opponent and has traps that can be laid down, but her actual simple combos look very similar to Rachel in that they utility her Persona to keep them going (Rachel makes heavy use of her Drive mid-combo to keep her and the opponent in proper range).
Good for you. Rachel is the strangest zoning character I've ever seen in my limited experience, but I'm hoping to pick her up at some point. She's a really interesting one. I guess she was much more powerful in CT, and got nerfed later.
Where did you get to play P4A?
At Evo I got to play a lot of casuals with atlus employees and other attendees. It's a really fun game and Dustloop a primer for it here. I plan on running ranbats for P4U starting next weekend locally. (Getting early copies of the game)
Doubtful.. it's hella anime. If you really want to get good at a game.. study the engine properties, practice execution and dont rely on online to make you better. Take a setup somewhere and start playing actual people. You'll build your scene and enjoy the games more!
Wait, you're in SF,CA? Dude.. you have a GREAT 2d fighter scene there. Southtown and Gamecenter (in san mateo) will definitely be running ranbats for this game when it comes out.
Go out there man!
Either way.. it'll be fun to play against someone. I'm super excited about this game..and then Tekken in September.. and (to a lesser extent) DOA 5. I'm just happy to see people playing fighters again. Have you tried getting some KOF lobbies together?
MK9 makes me frown, but I do try all fighters that come to the market. Lately i've been craving 2d fighters big time and playing BBCS to prep for P4U but i'd love to play with you guys sometime.
Nah, I think you're the first person to post who even has KOF.
I have KOF (aka the best game that nobody plays, myself included), I guess I forgot to mention that when I found this thread

That's one thing I regret not doing at EVO
It was always so crowded but as you put it, it was "hella anime", now I hear that it's an amazing game so I think I made a mistake by not playing it.
I've got KoF too. I found the thread after the games had already been set, so I figured that either nobody else had it or it was ignored due to bad netcode. (I haven't actually played online, just know that it's got a reputation)
I'll be online for BB around 7 PDT.
I find some of the mechanics in this engine really interesting like the 5f vulnerable window after jumping. Also nice quality of life changes like auto air tech by holding a button and and auto quick get-up when knocked down. I raised my eyebrows a bit though when I read "no negative edge specials" though.
Also can anyone tell me what a "TRM" or "Throw Reject Miss" is?
Throw Reject Miss occurs if you're thrown between 4-30 frames AFTER inputting your throw break attempt. However, if you "whiff" your throw break and the regular throw animation/motion comes out, then only frames 17-30 (after the throw break input) will be the "Throw Reject Miss".
Okay, so I'm having some trouble understanding. The wording on this page seems to treat throw break attempts as distinct from throw attempts. But if the input for both is B+C then how does the game interpret one or the other?
I'm sorry if I don't seem to make much sense, I only really have SF to go off of. Is it anything like being thrown out of a throw attempt i.e. being thrown during your throw's startup, or whiffing your throw while in their throw range?
EDIT: Further research reveals this
If YOU are in blockstun, and you push throw, nothing will happen (You're in blockstun, you can't do anything). But if your opponent then grabs you shortly thereafter, you'll get a Throw Reject Miss, because even though you were in blockstun and couldn't initiate a throw, you still hit throw and are therefore in the TRM window. When you get thrown, it might be purple if you're still in blockstun when your opponent grabs you, but it won't matter because you get the TRM.

It's an interesting concept, for sure.
Can't read link at work due to firewall. How bad of a lag are we talking on 360? Here's hoping for a day 0 patch.
Hmm, I suppose it's not outside the realm of possibility. I mean, SF4 is playable online, and Capcom released MvC3 whose netcode initially was godawful, same with SFxT when it first came out. All because they built each netcode from the ground up.
Of course, this is the part where you tell me it was the same development team that worked on BB and P4A and my analogy falls apart
I'll be on today if anyone wants to play some BB.
This guy has been streaming P4 online play. http://www.twitch.tv/thebrett
