Torchlight 2 Catch-All

I get the feeling that Runic do have a target they are aiming for, and it's not some vague "ask the magic 8 ball" for whether to release it, or that it's stuck in endless revisions looking for unobtainable perfection.

Yes, they said the target they were aiming for was 2011 unless someone dies...

I'm for 'sooner is better'. I know TL2 will be fantastic, thus I don't want them competing in the holiday rush.

By that logic, "later is better" too because 2013 is far enough away from the holiday rush too

Guys, just buy Krater so you can wait patiently in post-apocalyptic Sweden like me.

I'm a little worried it will release a few weeks after summer sale and I will be broke. haha

They're still shooting for a summer release, apparently.

Runic Games' Torchlight 2 is still planned for launch at some point this summer, Runic president Travis Baldree tells us. "The end of summer is September 25th or something like that, right?" he asked. "We're still trying to get it done for summer. It's a big game and we've still got some polish to go."

Hmm, maybe with all this new fangled language retconning that is so popular these days, I missed the memo on the seasons re-write? Last I checked the seasons were:

Fall - September October November
Winter December January February
Spring - March April May
Summer - June July August

Or is it the fault of global warming?

Last day of summer is the autumn equinox, usually on or around September 22nd.

I love how people are trying to 'lawyer' this. What exactly are you going to do if it is out one day after the equinox. What if Max Shaefer looks outside his window at the weather and says "still looks like summer to me"?

I'm going to take my ferret and his goggles and go to Max Shaefers house and throw him out that window.

But wait, I won't have my ferret or his goggles...

You win this time Shaefer.

I'm glad you love that. I love how you're acting like this is any different from any of the other hundreds of fruitless conversations had on this site every day.

I was just responding to the question about when the time boundaries of summer actually were. I promise no consequences based on TL2 release date.

Agreed. Not enough fruitful conversations.

So guys, bananas or oranges? You decide!

I'm hoping the ferret with goggles was only just a taste. I want all the pets to have cool eyewear. Bulldog with a monocle? Check. Shepherd with aviators? Gotcha.

I'm pretty sure there's plenty of discussions about being fruitful and multiplying, as it were, on this site.

Since when is a Shepherd a pet?

I think at this point I'm willing to just wait until it's done. It's preordered, it's in my Steam list waiting to install. It's been quite a few times that there has been a "we hope to have it out by this date" statement. I realize it's close to done but not gonna hold my breath. That being said, the game will hopefully rock when it is released!

Maybe it was a wolf? I can't remember. The bigger dog. I thought it was a German Shepherd. This is all a mute point because we all know the papillon is the one true pet.

Yet we know that summer is just another step in the cycle of life. But standing here among the people of Torchlight and basking in the warmth of their hearths and hearts, I couldn't imagine a better fate than a long and lustrous autumn, er I mean summer..."?

I was thinking more like a human who tends to sheep. Or, you know. What lobster posted.

Mute = unable to vocalize or produce sound.
Moot = rendered irrelevant by external factors.
Chakawary = The actual one true pet.

This will be on Friday's quiz.

Moot looks too dumb to be worth using.

Moot=Chakawary.

Why you have to tell me that? I hate the summer and just want it to be over already.

I am a veritable font of bad news and ill tidings. That font is similar to Papyrus. It heralds squandered potential.

As opposed to your little ankle-biting foo-foo dog!? Your pet is supposed to help you carry inventory items. It defeats the purpose if you need to carry it around in a purse.

Goggles, people, goggles. What's your chakawary going to do when it gets a sandstorm all up in its face?

Spoiler:

it is going to cry sandy tears is what

Put a fishbowl on its head?

Hug it close to me and let it snuggle its head into safety of my warm chest. I would comfort it and tell it that the storm will pass soon. We would fall asleep huddled together, only to wake a little while later to silence. The moon now peeks through the fading clouds and the storm has passed. I glance down and see that she is watching me. Looking into my eyes. She shifts slightly, her eyes never leaving mine. Now I feel the claws under my cloak, curious and probing... I...
I'll be in my bunk.

I don't want to bring a chakawary anymore.

Well, it was fun while it lasted, guys.

Fine. I guess I'll do it:
... And with a final shuddering yelp she collapses into the sand. As I gather my tattered leggings I vow to remember the lesson my chakawary taught me today: The goggles do nothing.
