Steam Summer Sale 2012 Gift-All

How are the expansions for Company of Heroes? I have the original CoH but it's non steam so I would have to get the base game as well. Is it mostly more of the same?

Opposing Fronts is more of the same, just playing the German side.

Tales of Valor is different. Same engine, but more like "take this one uber tank as your only unit for this mission. Flatten that town."

So I went to get breakfast knowing that I had plenty of time before the flash deal for JC2 runs out. When I came back, I found that docjoe gifted it to me. Seriously, thank you man. That was a great surprise. Been wanting to blow sh*t up.

Also, Opposing Fronts adds two factions to the MP - British and another German faction. British are very fun to play. If you're going to play MP at all (and you should), the expansion is worth it.

Thanks momgamer for Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth!
Thanks Aries for Dungeon Defenders!

When the Old Ones drive me insane, I'll be able to chill out with some tower defense.

Dear Valve,

Please put Legend of Grimrock on sale again. I've learned my lesson. I'll be good I promise.

Sincerely,
Maverick

A huge thanks to my pal Obirano, who was kind enough to gift me a copy of Just Cause 2. I can't wait to grapple link a car to a plane and go people bowling with it!

Thanks, Aries, I appreciate the Dungeon Defenders gift. However, I've already been gifted it! I've returned it so you can find another worthy recipient.

This is the place where we post big random letters in full caps isn't it? No? Two doors down the hall on the left you say? Well, isn't this just a little bit embarrassing?

For some reason I'm not allowed to purchase Anomaly: Warzone Earth with the iOS Steam app.

But I can use TeamViewer on my iPhone to access my desktop and buy it from there.

That'll teach them not to let me give them my money!

You misunderstand. I was just angry that there was so much traffic before the sale.

Aw, rats.

The real question is how many people highlighted and searched on that. LMAO

i was going to until i read his next sentence.

oops, double post.

I will simply say if you don't own Just Cause 2, I question your humanity. It's stupid, ridiculous, ludicrous amounts of fun. Helicopter shooting at you? Fire your grapple gun at it, zoom up to it, throw out the pilot, and fly away. Want to go somewhere? Fire your grapple at a car, ride on top of it for a while, then jump in, drive it off a cliff, bail out, deploy your parachute, land on military base, fire rocket launchers at all the guards, steal fighter jet, aim it at the ground, bail out, deploy parachute again, land on skyscraper, get tired of guys shooting at you, use grapple to pull each of them off the edge of the skyscraper as they scream all the way down.

Seriously, this game is loads of fun. Epic loads of fun, on my short list of "most fun ever". The story itself is paper-thin (and really quite short), but the game is really the answer to the question "what could I do if I had a super-awesome grapple gun, a constantly-deployable parachute, and a huge island full of stuff that explodes".

Worst. Bookworm level. Ever.

Thanks to Dyni for Company of Heroes! You're my hero! or something!

Well, he's at least in the company.

*crickets*

And back to the Steam site I go!

Here is a question? What is the most offensive and least fun game you can buy on steam? I am really looking for a game that is not fun.

I would like to buy Q-Stone a present...

+1. Pretty much as soon as I realized what silly fun the gameplay mechanics were (about a minute in) I abandoned the story. Still put 23 hours into it & I'm wondering about firing it up again now, just for grins.

I was all ready to go on a rant about how a classic pharmaceutical trading game was slaughtered by the critics, and then I realised it wasn't dopewars.

Darksiders.

Drug Wars has an metacritic 35.

Edit: Revelations 2012 is catching all kinds of flack for being a low quality mod that has a price tag for some reason. That one is just kind of sad though.

This was the one that released under a different name and was totally bug-tastic. The devs insist that Valve uploaded the wrong build to Steam and that it was the Alpha that was on sale for the first month. With the proper release they changed the name but the stigma of a botched launch followed them.

My first thought too.

Is Drug Wars so bad it's good?

Wow, added Just Cause 2 to keep a track of the game, and Tanstaafl gave me the game as a gift!

Thank for that, I will blow up stuff in your name! ( and for fun )

Pretty sure I had Drug Wars on my TI-85.

If I am not mistaken Rogue Warrior is the lowest rated game on steam. Or one of the lowest. Its a 30.

Thanks to Falchion for The Darkness II!

Not to be confused with Rogue Trooper, which was actually pretty entertaining.

Also not to be mistaken for Rogue Trader, which is a money vacuum.
