Steam Summer Sale 2012 Gift-All

Ah nuts, was hoping to grab Far Cry 2 for cheap. Still, good news for anyone who is yet to get into Torchlight. I still think it was a lot of fun, even if negative nancy above me thinks otherwise

Can I resist Just Cause 2 for $3.74?

I don't know why the hell you would.

That's odd, it shows as going for $4.99 for me... Just me?

I see $3.74 as well, US region.

Well, thanks to the awesome generosity of wanderingtaoist, I no longer care. Many thanks! :D

I am patriotic red with envy--well I was until wanderingtaoist showed up--you are too kind, my peripatetic philosophical friend! Now I'm giddy as a school boy. Here is my giddy face:

Wow. And I literally thought a few months ago "I'd totally play Just Cause 2 if I could find it on PC and just mod/cheat to my heart's desire".

Thanks Dr. Awkward!

Alright, now I've got to pay this forward.

Just Cause 2 and Portal 2 Final Hours jumped into my cart. Waiting to see what Helicopters changes into before I hit purchase.

Sadly I think I'm getting close to my spending limit of 50 dollars.

Yeah, ditto. Oh well. Hopefully it comes up in a future such sale.

I was all set to buy Far Cry 2 x2.... consoling myself with some Helicopters.

Who still needs to buy Torchlight or Oblivion?

You say that like Far Cry 2 isn't 4 years old.

Um... racing theme for the next vote?

Help?

Test Drive Unlimited 2?
NFS: Hot Pursuit?
Driver: SF?

So the next poll is Driver San Francisco, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit or TDU2 and I voted Driver San Francisco but all are good choices.

Vote for Driver since it's newest and has had the fewest sales?

I dunno, I'm going to bed.

Bioshock series flash sale.

Bioshock? Not interested.

Driver: San Francisco has the crazy coma car jumping thing right? I would vote for that one then because it's the most crazy and interesting.

EDIT: This is actually one of the more interesting votes for me, even though I'm not huge into racing. Especially because I'm not big into racing, it's guaranteed I own none of these three.

Curious, where do I find Minerva's Den for Bioshock 2 PC? Was it a built-in update to the Steam version? because I don't see it in the store anywhere.

I step away from my desktop for a little while and Stele, m0nk3yboy, and Meatman all send me a copy of Anomaly: Warzone Earth IMAGE(http://l.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/4.gif) Thanks a bunch, I'll be forwarding the spares to those in need (even if they don't know it yet ;)).

I think it's funny that the preorder for Orcs Must Die 2 hits the top sellers at number 14 but really isn't part of the sale at all.

True, but I still need to buy Far Cry 2! I rented it back then.

I voted TDU2, since I already have NFS, and I don't have much interest in Driver.

Who's with me?!

And the purchase has gone through.

Damage Done:

$2.49 Audiosurf
$29.79 Skyrim
$3.49 Auditorium
$5.99 Fable The Lost Chapters
$2.49 Hitman: Blood Money
$3.74 Just Cause 2
$0.99 The Final Hours of Portal 2

$48.98 Total

Gifted To:
Bastion - Ariskany Evan
CS:GO - Sparhawk

Gifts From:

Spoiler:

*Crickets*

So far, I'm not doin' too bad. Can probably sneak in one more amazing game that goes on sale before it finishes up. =D

Bah! My vote is definitely for Driver. Also, I'd be happy if Need For Speed won too since that's seriously awesome fun and I'd be happy to gift that one out if it wins.

Unfortunately, I believe you need to do it through Games for Windows Live. It's totally compatible with the Steam version, but you can't buy it on Steam.

PKSebben has defeated me in the games of one upsmanship with Batman AC, I can't compete with that! I doff my hat to you good sir.

I suspect Momgamer's gift of Space Rangers 2 will consume far too many hours of my life though, so I'm not sure whether to thank you or lament you

Space Rangers 2 is a nice gift...

Anyone else hates this sale format, I prefer the 24 hour one... I need to sleep, and at work I am in another country network and I cannot make purchases grrrr. The voting thing is funny but I think it causes more damage than benefit, not getting the one you want and the ones that are chosen are sometimes repeated in another time/day sale.

Voted Driver San Fran.

The only one that works on the Mac, and at 75% off I may just get it for $10. Does it work with the 360 controller?

If it does I'd be sorely tempted.

Thanks to Eldon of Azure I have new gamage!

I read that as if it rhymed with "damage". So... new legs?

Yes.

Plav, thanks for Limbo!

I think all racers on PC have to at this point. Most people won't play without digital steering. I personally prefer a keyboard and mouse, but I'm craaaazy.

Picked up Limbo & Psychonauts. May even start one of them today. It's not easy (being a grinder). I want to gift but don't want to feel like I'm bribing anyone. I'll earn it the hard way, one (post) at a time.

Being a grinder isn't that long. Just bear with it.

Question - have you joined the Steam Group yet?

Yes, I've been in a while. I'm Sr_Malo. Thanks momgamer, I regularly read & enjoy your column.

Mom's right, it won't take long. But in the meantime...one cream, no sugar. Chop chop.

Yes Sir!!! Right Away Sir!!!

Train Simulator 2012 at 90% off is almost worth it for the giggles alone.

I can imagine playing the West Midlands expansion and your soul just slowly draining out of your body until you're found in front of the computer - grey and unblinking.

It is. Almost a little sad there's no EVERYTHING bundle for all the DLC though. Granted the 50% off DLC is still like $500 for all of it instead of $1000.
I remember being impressed when there was $300 of DLC not discounted...
