Steam Summer Sale 2012 Gift-All

Argh I am mad I missed the Dungeon Siege 3 flash sale! Stupid work. Hopefully it comes up again for a daily like we have seen multiple times already.

Man, how cool is it to come back to the computer and find not one, but two gifts waiting for you? GWJers are so awesome.

Thanks to Tigerbill for Take On Helicopter (plus Hind dlc)! I've had that on my list for a while as a way to ease into heli simming and I'm really looking forward to giving it a try.

Also thanks to clever id for SOL: Exodus! Can never get too much space-y goodness.

Thanks to everyone who recommended Saints Row the 3rd, I love it already.

Looking to do some gifting the next few days, so I'm building up my friend list - request away!

Request sent!

You can never have too many friends

Don't need any games, but Steam friends are welcome. So another request sent!

Just got a mighty chuckle, was doing some research for my "Copyright and Intellectual Property Class." EA talks about the Steam Sale. XD Gotta say Origin.... Steam sales might cheapen the IP in your eyes but from the past few days, I'm pretty sure their wishing they could have a piece of this magical pie where people buy 30 copies of a game to gift to their friends. =D

There's Valve's response to this, which amounts to "We're sorry, but we can't hear anything you're saying over the sound of our money faucets flowing money into our money lagoon where our money yacht is."

Double posting, but whatever. Also, for those of you that don't have it: Company of Heroes is a steal at $2.50. The pack is also worth getting, though if you have a $10 limit, you can drop Tales of Valor. Opposing Fronts is also worth the money.

Dear Esther,
Shoptroll has graciously sent you to me. Looking forward to a romantic encounter tomorrow night.

Yours,
RM

Thanks Shoptroll!

Thanks to Merphle for Shoot Many Robots!

Did anyone else happen to nab a copy in a 4 pack they want to trade for something else? Thinking I need another copy for my wife, and sadly missed the sale due to board game night o.o

2 new flash sales up.

Anomaly Warzone Earth (awesome reverse TD game)

Just Cause 2

Seriously guys, quit posting while I'm at work! I hate being a filthy skimmer...

I have to say I'm really surprised Sanctum won that vote. It's a neat little game, but I guess they were all kind of weird choices.
I hope everyone is voting for Farcry 2 for this one. $2.50 to gift a grenade rolling down a hill, oh man!

For anyone that's interested, I'm going to be streaming some Secret of the Magic Crystal. I've never played it before.

I almost gifted a copy of SotMC to a non GWJER. He plays FPS games almost exclusively, and lives about 30 minutes away from my house.

What have I become?

One of us?

BTW, gang, we made the front page.

Hey look at that, Min made the front page too!

May have to look at the rest of the site instead of this thread 18/7

Can I resist Just Cause 2 for $3.74?

I don't know why the hell you would.

I'm still barely resisting Take On Helicopters. I've never done any flight sim stuff. Is this gonna make me want to buy a stick? Or will it handle fine with m&k or xbox controller?

So the official announcement of today's sales from the group page shows Quantum Conundrum as a Daily sale, but I'm still seeing it for the 10% off it's been this whole time. Anyone see anything else? I may have to pick it up if it's a good enough deal.

Amazon is currently selling the digital version of Quantum Conundrum for $8.99, $1 less than the summer sale offered (so far). The key provided activates via Steam.

I believe it was 30% during a flash sale or vote sale or something.

I just played and streamed 20 minutes of Secret of the Magic Crystal. 10 minutes in and I broke my unicorn. The interface is pretty lousy, so I spent most of my money diagnosing it 8 times, and then finally figured out how to cure it. I bought all the recipes and no achievement. WTF? I got an achievement because the townspeople randomly gave me money though. A fairly boring game. That being said, the soundtrack(the one song you hear in the game) is AMAZING! A++ WOULD BUY AGAIN!!

I dunno, sounds like you need to start a dedicated thread and explore this game more deeply. I think you've only scratched the surface on its helium filled balloon of potential.

Dogfighters sent in exchange for limericks to DeThroned and Cobble.

Just Cause 2... yikes wasn't planning on buying anything today, but I may have to reconsider at that price.

Just wait until you begin expanding the speed of the pony, YOU CAN RACE AGAINST FRIENDS!

Forget the Summoner Wars catch all and GWJ Ascenscion league. We'll be hosting the GWJ Day at the (Magical) races.

Now, if I could just figure out why I didn't save, I could start in on the game again... I mean. My kids could, yeah, that's right, the kids...

Is limbo worth it for the PC? been thinking on it since it came out for the 360 last year(?)

That's odd, it shows as going for $4.99 for me... Just me?

For $2.50? Yeah. Expect 3-4 hours for a complete playthrough.

I see $3.74 as well, US region.

Gave away two copies of Just Cause 2 to the two guys who wished for it but still didn't have it. It feels a bit like cheating - like giving away real Rolexes bought for price of fake ones.

Well, thanks to the awesome generosity of wanderingtaoist, I no longer care. Many thanks!

Wow. Close finish for that poll. Disappointed at the result but not surprised. I'll take this opportunity to state that I think Torchlight is pretty and polished but very overrated. /NegativeNancy
