Steam Summer Sale 2012 Gift-All

Damn it. Sniper Elite v2 on Amazon bit me and then Steam kicked my shin with the DLC.

I played the demo for 360 and it was fun... not sure I would want to play the whole game, but watching your bullet tear through an enemy is really satisfying.

On a different note, can anyone enable me on Stronghold 3? I've been interested in the series, but never pulled the trigger. Now the original Stronghold is gone from Steam and I wonder if numero three is good/worth it.

I've heard terrible things, but I wonder if the issues were fixed. I need enablement as well.

Would love to be convinced too - always wanted an excuse to get it.

My little brother and I picked the first one up around the same time. He sank into it hard and I got distracted shortly after you have to rescue the wounded guy and futz around with mines.
When I came back to it I could never figure out how to place the tripwires correctly and just replayed the beginning section a few times.

Anybody buying the Batman pack that comes with Gotham City Impostors that wants to play with somebody, let me know. Love that game.

If you don't have it, it's $5 by itself.

Great little under appreciated shooter arcadey MP shooter IMO. Very goofy fun can be had.

It is GFWL, and initially launched without some standard PC customizations like FOV, but that's been improved with patches, and Monolith has added free maps and game modes a couple of times since launch.

I'm tempted to pick up the pack, since I loved both Arkham games on Xbox and would love to try them out with the new DLC. Impostors is intriguing, too. But I just can't pull the trigger on that purchase right now. Hoping a couple other things come up the pipeline, and my budget's pretty tight.

Holy sh*t guys you are on a 100 posts an hour tear here. This is impossible to keep track of!

And you're not helping to keep it down! Just kidding. I love this stuff.

With every post the bridge gets higher and the gorge gets deeper.

Eh, Quintin?

You misunderstand. I was just angry that there was so much traffic before the sale.

If by "buying" you mean "has bought", then yes.

I'll give it a try with you sometime. It shall be installed tonight.

I would like to thank Katy for gifting me Costume Quest, and apologize for declining without an attached comment. From what others had said in thread I had assumed there would be a place to send back a message after the decline message box, but if there was, I failed to see it. I greatly appreciate the sentiment behind the gift, but already own the game on both PS3 and 360. I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding the game a good home.

While I appreciate both Katy and Chaz's earlier generosity, my many years of gaming has left me owning almost everything I could want on one platform or another. The community has already given me so much in the form of advice and camaraderie that I ask anyone else thinking about gifting me anything to please find another more deserving recipient who doesn't already have quite the gaming backlog that I have. Thanks everybody.

Okay, remember my earlier request for friend invites?

Holy crap 20 people.

Keep 'em coming!

If I buy the Double Fine pack for Stacking, will I be able to give away the other two games that I already own?

If the store page doesn't specifically state that you get giftable copies of the extras, generally you do not.

Thanks also to ForcefulCheese for Stacking. I now have two copies, since doogiemac sent it earlier, and I'm waiting to hear whether ForcefulCheese wants to pass it on himself, or if I can re-gift it.

It should be noted that Shoot Many Robots is made by Demiurge Studios. It is also the latest flash deal.

Thanks. My searches had obtained that answer, so I thought I'd keep searching until I got a different one.

How did I not know that existed!?

Send me a friend request for Live if you do, I think that will be required to join up.

It's been on my "watch for a sale" list for a while now. Now to convince the wife that a game that has no female characters can still be up her alley. (TF2, why oh why?!)

Wow, huuuuuge thanks to Minarchist for the Pendulo Collection. That was incredibly generous.

Shoot Many Robots is a fun little game. I got it for XBLA, and played it for a while. Nice little side-scrolling loot based shooter. $2.50 is definitely a good price. Totally worth it.

The only thing I don't really like is the hillbilly aesthetic, but sometimes that can even be funny. Being from West Virginia, that stuff is played out for me.

I quickly skimmed the Steam forum and apparently the Gold Edition of Stronghold 3 is still buggy. Also, there will be no more patches coming in the future. I guess it's a better idea to just buy Stronghold 1 or 2.

Thanks to soonerjudd for Payday: The Heist. I can finally stop almost buying that game and start playing it.

There may not be any actual female characters in Shoot Many Robots but you can still wear a tutu and fairy wings.

Thanks to steven.mack for Dirt 2! Truly, you guys are awesome.

It's difficult to keep up with who I've friended from this thread and who I haven't...

EDIT: Question for you folks... Deus Ex: Human Revolution, or Mirror's Edge? I can choose only one.

For those interested in Shoot Many Robots now that it's on sale, I have a copy to give away. First to PM me with a haiku regarding the shooting of robots (along with your steam URL) gets the game.

I know it goes against everything we stand for here, but I'd like to disable you on Stronghold 2. I bought it at launch and not only was it incomparably hard, but I couldn't even get the "build your own castle" part to work, which was the main reason I bought it in the first place. Now it could be that I suck at games (oh how I suck), or that it was fixed in a later patch, but I was so pissed and disappointed with it that I literally threw it in the trash after a few days. If you're seriously considering buying it, I'd suggest reading up on it to see if it's still the pile of junk it was. I just couldn't let that comment go by without saying something.

I just want to give props where they are due, to Valve. I bought Fallout New Vegas when it was on a flash sale, at 75% off. And then I went and bought several of the DLC packs, also at 75% off. And then I suddenly saw the Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition, which includes the base game and all the DLC. It was also being sold at the flash sale discount.

So I contacted Steam Support and they took me through a procedure where I could get the previous purchases refunded and was able to get the Ultimate Edition instead. They didn't have to do this, as it was my fault to being quick on the trigger, but they earned some customer loyalty from me today. Just sharing.

That makes the choice even easier. Everyone just needs to get Stronghold 1 and call it good if they feel the need to play a castle sim.

Is it sad that writing a haiku is too much work?

I won't write haiku
It is too much work for me
I am quite lazy

Oh hey I just did.

Thanks SixteenBlue and Juv3nal for the tips on my earlier problems with purchasing through Steam, not residing in my own country at the moment. The trick was not filling in my home (Dutch) address, but the local (Belgian) address I'm staying at right now. After that, paying with paypal was no problem. What did I get? Limbo, Indie Pack VI* and the Double Fine pack...

*: mostly because it includes Ticket to Ride, although Spacechem look intriguing, if not difficult...

They appear to be all bundled together?
