Steam Summer Sale 2012 Gift-All

Ahrezmendi, you are a nut.

I really can't disagree with this. I've nearly emptied my 2nd batch of steam wallet funds. This is going to be the last one though, so apologies to anybody who doesn't get a gift this sale, I'll try to hit you next sale.

You're a madman... a loaded GWJ Santa Claus madman.

And thank you very much, though to be honest, I just wanted you as a friend. Everyone says how warm and personable you are Also love your avatar, Alice was one of my favorite games ( and story ).

Check your message, Craggy. Clocky just barely beat Azhremendi, so I passed it on to you.

And many thanks to both Clocky and Azhremendi. With everything going on here on my end, you're gifting a lot of misty smiles with the bits and bytes.

My wife and I would like to send out a big thanks to Chaz for gifting us the Syberia bundle. It was completely unexpected and unnecessary, but we look forward to finding a coming weekend where we can sit down and dig into the game together. My wife doesn't game much, but she really likes to team up when I'm playing adventure games.

Thank you very much.

There's a Syberia bundle?! Why didn't anyone ever tell me that?!

The ForcefulCheese household would like to thank Mortalgroove and Acetate3 for copies of Limbo. They arrived a few minutes apart, so I will be passing one copy on to my son CaptainLumberjack. He does't have a job yet. But I will be paying something forward to make it right.

Edit: And a third copy just came in from Dyni. I'll pass it along, so friend me up if we aren't already.

By the way, I'd like to point out that Chrome is on Steam at 75% off, for $1.24. I highly recommend it, I enjoyed the hell out of it. It's kind of an unknown and under-appreciated first person shooter.

Hehe, first I try to become friends with Clocky, and he gifts me Limbo. Then, I look up and see that Momgamer also gifted me Limbo

Thank you very much, both of you!! Would either of you like yours back, or would you rather I pass it on to someone on my friend's list?

Phew. Thanks for the heads-up.

Very happy to help, I couldn't recommend that game at three cents, let alone three dollars.

I'm holding out for a GalCiv 2 sale as I've been looking for a solid 4x space game that will run on one of my aging laptops. If not, maybe I'll finally try to figure out Sword of the Stars or just play more Sins.

Gal Civ is not a solid space game, and it's somewhat resource intensive. I'm a fan of Space Empires IV (not V! Never V!).

Honestly I found GalCiv 2 boring as all get out, but I heard the later expansion added some soul into it.

You played without the expansions? Unacceptable. Completely.

I don't think the expansions would sell you too much on your view that it lacks character (though the specialized research trees in Arnor help a lot), but from a gameplay perspective Dark Avatar made the game so much better and then Arnor was the cherry on top.

Picked up Limbo & Psychonauts. May even start one of them today. It's not easy (being a grinder). I want to gift but don't want to feel like I'm bribing anyone. I'll earn it the hard way, one (post) at a time.

Being a grinder isn't that long. Just bear with it.

Question - have you joined the Steam Group yet?

Yes, I've been in a while. I'm Sr_Malo. Thanks momgamer, I regularly read & enjoy your column.

I wouldn't really classify a browser as a first person shooter...

Oh yeah, IV is where it is AT, totally. Loooooved that game.

I found the original so dull, why would I go back? I mean, I WILL go back eventually for the blog, but not likely any sooner.

Have you clicked on the wrench icon? That's where all the fun is!

Naming issues aside! http://store.steampowered.com/app/46...

We can argue the former point some other time, but as far as Gal Civ being resource intensive, well, my laptop from late 2005 plays it. He's probably okay.

Thanks DeThroned for another copy of Costume Quest! You are a real gentlemen to task me with helping you find a deserving soul to revel in the comedy stylings of Double Fine.

I HATE ALL OF YOU! The spirit of this thread made me send out a gift that I wasn't planning on.

Then again, impulse buying for other people is a lot of fun. It's always cool to see the screenshot posts with the messages others gifted with. My impulse gift was a game that I haven't even tried yet but people said was cool. I hope it is a good game or someone's gonna be really upset (hehe)

EDIT: Another? I didn't gift it to you already, right? I loose track of these things. Either way, pass on the love then!

Those simulator games always tend to be filled with bugs (broken physics and/or geometry), but they usually only creep up when you try and break things.

...which is one of the most fun ways to play a simulator.

It's a whole new approach to ad-blocking! I like using the sniper rifle to take ads out from extreme range, but there have been a couple of times I got trigger-happy and accidentally shot content.

I'm pretty sure they're just tied to the profile, not the actual install. I finished up AA for Minarchist, and he just had to send me his saved games (two folders, one of which was XLive, and I forget the other). I backed up my folders, deleted them, logged in as Minarchist, exited, copied over his folders, and restarted, and it let me finish up the game as him.

Wait, I thought you guys were kidding about that the whole time. Like "lol cheevos" inside joke.

Now I know Minarchist is even lamer than I ever imagined.

Are we considering 2005 "somewhat old" for hardware? What does that make me, garion333?

Don't answer that. I don't want to know.

got stacking and costume quest.

My wishlist is down to:

Gods & Kings
ARMA II
A Valley Without Wind
Witcher 2

I need to wishlist more things.

But not the one it needs? Are you saying I'm not wanted anymore? OK, I can take a hint.

Someone was asking for enabling on Company of Heroes a few pages back, and I'm throwing my hat in that ring. Fantastic game, it's what turned me into a Relic fan. You really can't go wrong with CoH at $2.50.

You did iiiiiiit! So, thanks to Cragmyre and Momgamer/Clockwork for Limbo. I have so much love to give.

Starting to feel like this thread owns me. As if I'm its Female Doggo or something.

Mom's right, it won't take long. But in the meantime...one cream, no sugar. Chop chop.

This thread makes me smile. Even on this blisteringly hot work day where everyone in real life seems just a bit too crabby, the generosity displayed on this thread makes me feel better about humanity.

Kudos to you GWJers.
