Forza 4: Catch-All

The May DLC includes the Smart ForTwo, which ticks off one of the cars on my secret DLC wishlist and I'm disproportionately excited about it (and the Ford Transit and the Mirthmobile).

Here's the rest of my list:

Carbon Motors E7
Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor
Morgan 3 Wheeler
Morris Mini Cooper S
Peel Trident
Smart ForTwo/Roadster
Subaru BRZ/Toyota 86

Anyone else have a wishlist for Forza 4?

What is that in UTC?

Eastern time is UTC-4 right now (and UTC-5 during the winter), so 9pm eastern on Tuesday is 1am Friday UTC. It looks like Melbourne is UTC+10, so that would be 11am Wednesday Melbourne Time.

The race night was lots of fun. Did anyone particularly like any tracks/classes/cars? dislike any? any changes you would like to see next week?

Just that Porsche pack, need that #45 Flying Lizard.

The one's Ive posted on the "Forza Motorsport 4 Car Wish List" thread on the forum are:
-Geoff
-Hammerhead Eagle i-Thrust
-MkII Scirocco 16v We need the ultimate A1 chassis VW, and this would complete the Scirocco options with MkI, MkII, Mk 2.5(Corrado), and MkIII
-1977 VW Super Beetle Others may like split window bugs, or other early cars, but I would rather see the last of the sedans sold in the U.S.
-1992 500E
-450SEL 6.9
-The rest of group B We have the S1 Quatro, the RS200, the 5 Turbo, and GTO but where are the Delta S4, The 205T16, the 6R4, group B RX7, and even the BX 4TC.
-Porsche
-Rally Fighter
-Prius GT300

The May pack has a few cars that I think were sorely missed, including the VR-4, the Legacy, the Transit, the Cortina, and the Austin-Healey. Unfortunately, they just make me think of more cars I want in the game, like the 323GTX, Pulsar GTiR (and regular pulsar), Forester 2.5XT, Hilux, and MGs.

I thought that was too silly to have on a wish list, but nevermind—it's on my wish list now.

And speaking of the 205T16, I'd like to add the 405T16 to my list too. (Edit: And a very hilly track for it, the Monster SX4 and the S1.)

I can has Pikes Peak and the Mt. Washington auto Road?

There's something hilarious about suggesting this, and then missing it because i'm at work.

Like I said, anyone up for a few trips 'round the track Friday night?

I can run a few races with you. Keep in mind that I will be, by far, the worst of the bunch.

I'm not available to play this Friday, but future Fridays should be fine.

Tuesday night prompted me to play some more of this last night (to keep working through the career mode and get MOAR CARZ!!).

I just gotta say... those bowling pin challenges can go f*ck themselves.

CptGlanton wrote:

Oh I'll fight ya for last.

Well the Smart car is way more fun than it has any right to be. Even at F101, its nimbleness makes it properly competitive on a windy enough track, and at F200 it destroys the other city cars (and doesn't lose speed going up the hill on Maple Valley—that hill never looked so steep until yesterday). I just wish it had the tach and clock on the dashboard!

I am loving the whole top gear car pack (as anyone who has looked at the club garage will know). Have we changed race night to Friday? I'm really looking forward to using some of these cars. I noticed that both the legacy and the Galant tune to C class nicely. Who would be up for some Prevolution vs. Sti V.0 action? Build your own or use one of the ones I put in the club garage.

So I just squeaked in to winning the Kaido bounty hunter yesterday. I have added a couple of drift cars to the club garage. both the E30 M3 I used to win:
IMAGE(http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb3/ElectricPi/E30.jpg)
and an AE86 that got close, but couldn't quite make it:
IMAGE(http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb3/ElectricPi/AE86.jpg)
I also took this more artistic shot that really requires ridiculous resolution for full effect. I don't think there are to many forza drifters on here, and I really don't consider myself to be one either, but this challenge was fun.

I really ought to take some time and pull this back out. I didn't spend nearly as much time with it as it deserved.

So VIP is now available for purchase.

Also, race night a few weeks ago was a lot of fun, but there does not seem to be enough interest to do it weekly. would people be interested in every other week? once a month?

I think it might be fun to run a GWJ race series too with a system like REWARDS Weight to make it more fun/challenging to more people. Instead of changing weight, we can adjust the allowable PI for drivers based on previous wins. Given the lack of interest in weekly race nights, this may not be realistic, but maybe the people would like more structure like that?

That sounds like a great idea. Is that built into the system? Seems like a good way to bump up the challenge for really good drivers and give us sh*tty ones a chance

I'm also interested in doing some drift challenges, as I've barely spent any time in that mode.

ElectricPi wrote:

Is VIP worth it? It's 1200 MSP this time, I think it was 800 for F3. Do they throw free cars at you or anything?

as far as I know there is nothing like that built into forza, but we can do it ourselves. For example if we were doing an A class series, everyone starts out being allowed 600 PI, and for each win you have to reduce that by 20 PI, for each 2nd 10 PI, and for each 3rd 5 PI. So if I have 2 wins, 1 2nd, and 1 3rd in the series, I have to use a car with 545 (600 -20 -20 -10 -5) PI or lower. If you have 1 3rd place, but no 2nds or wins, then you can have a much faster 595PI car. I envision it being one race per time period (month? week? fortnight?), so that people who picked up REWARDS can tune a car to their new allowance in between.

As far as the value of the VIP,they do throw VIP gift cars around regularly, and you need to be a VIP to run the VIP rivals event. They are also giving a discount on the Porsche pack for all VIPs (both the original VIPs and anyone who buys it now), so if you plan to get the Porsche pack anyway, it is effectively 800 points

OCHO!

Is anyone available before Tuesday to help with an in game photo shoot? I would like to get some pictures of Herbie with his girlfriend Giselle for the Photo contest, and split screen does not support photomode as far as I can tell.

Looks like this thread's been pretty quiet. Anyone still playing F4?

I just picked it up last week, my first racing sim since Gran Turismo 2. Decided to go all out, too, and picked up the CSR wheel (which I'm still waiting on!).

Anyways, VERY little racing sim experience, but I'm enjoying F4 a lot so far. Would love to know if anyone in the community is still playing and would enjoy lapping me a dozen times while I try to figure out how to back my car out of a wall.

I keep meaning to come back to it but other things keeping grabbing my... oh shiny!

I tapered off after finishing 7 Seasons and Driver Level 50 in career mode, but F4 is great for occasional short-burst gameplay now and again.

I'll likely dive back in earnest when F4 Ultimate Collection (all DLC bundled) is relased.

Eurotransient, did you join the Car Club, GWJ Motor Pool? It's a great way to do some score-chasing.

Rykin wrote:

Same. Plus, getting the wheel out makes it's barrier to entry a bit more than other games.

Keep really meaning to get back to it on a day when I've got the house to myself.

I haven't yet, but I'll send out for an invite.

This is one thing that makes me glad I simplified and went with the wireless Speed Wheel.

Sure there's concessions aplenty compared to a real racing wheel, but the accessibility of just having it sitting there waiting to be picked up any time makes it a great alternate option.

I managed to acquire one of the old MS wheels for this and have had a blast with it, although there's a fairly steep learning curve similar to getting used to the wheel in general. That said, I've had a blast just hot lapping cars at Dunsfold of late.
