Steam Summer Sale 2012 Gift-All

I am not able to get to Steam right to add anyone, but it would be awesome if when I got back on and I had a bunch of friend request. Look for ImNickson.

You clearly haven't seen people lamenting Steam's search feature.

Think I'm going to stay up and wait for Civilization to run out. Who knows what awesome flash deal might hide behind it! Like Just Cause 2 for 75%. * Crosses fingers*

What's the word on Dungeon Siege? I hear good things come out of Gas Powered, but never played these.

For $5, it's definitely worth a look. I played it co-op with a friend and had a blast, though I would recommend a controller over keyboard+mouse if you have one. The only gripe I have with DS3 is that in co-op, players share a camera, so "doing your own thing" is never an option and sometimes you may have unfavorable angles to deal with.

Enable me on Saints Row 3? Consider that I now have time to game, but the backlog is tremendous.

It's easy to hop in and out. Missions are bite sized chunks so you don't need to marathon the game. If you just want to breeze through, there are plenty of ways to buy power in the DLC packs but they don't stop the game being fun. Just a different kind of fun.

I was smart and found the link to my steam profile by editing my post on the Steam Community thread. ImNickson

Work filters are very annoying.

He's just the only one called that. I don't bother searching because of how much time I've wasted doing so in the past. For instance, searching for "Mao Zedong" returns 71 people.

Koz, You Rock! Mirrors Edge is a game I've wanted to play since I've played inMomentum. Thanks a bunch.

The weekend needs to come sooner so that I may play all of these awesome games :D.

I am pretty fortunate with ImNickson. If you Google ImNickson all the links (on the first page at least) are all me.

I really need to close those 70 other accounts. It does work slightly better if you search within the GWJ group, if they're a member.

Anyone have comments on the Pendulo pack? I remember The Next Big Thing seeming kind of kooky and off-kilter in a good way in the Giant Bomb quicklook. I'm awfully tempted, though I already have a couple of seasons of Telltale adventure games on the pile already.

Big Thanks to Minaracist, and to KrazyTaco for the gifted games. They shall be well played.

Woah, careful how you go spelling words round these parts

They get worse and worse based on metacritic. 86, then 80, then 72.

Spoiler:

A man cannot play what he does not have.

Start the countdown. I'll give it 10 minutes.

Sorry about the delay, kids needed lunch

And it's not just the search. It's the combination of search and user profile preferences. You have to actually go to your profile page and enable it (I think, it's been a while). And then it can be private, public, logged in users only, or friends only, or friends of friends. And all of those determine whether you can be searched or not. It's very messy.

But a simple link makes it well, simple.

While I think BG&E is a overated and the problems with it are forgotten in conversations (the last 5th of or so of the game- the stealth- is rough) I'm glad I played the game and enjoyed a lot that the game does. Also, I really love the music.

I completely disagree in that I never had any problems with the stealth. Do you mean it's rough as in hard? or like not well polished? It's probably still overrated(that's what cult hits do best) but it's in my top games of all time for atmosphere.

Even though I voted for BG&E, I'm happy that Mirror's Edge won. It is a great game. Awful combat and story, amazing movement and setting. Even the title song is fantastic

It won Best Original Song at... something. Does anyone remember? I can't seem to find it online but I remember Lisa Miskovsky's "Still Alive" won best song at an awards show.

If GWJers put a GWJ tag in their name it's really easy to find them. IF...

You monsters.

Much thanks to provincial brethren Burnt Toast for the gift of Sideway, a game I've been curious about for a long time.

thanks for this, didn't see Dungeon Siege III as 75% off for next 10 hours.

I can only speak to Dungeon Siege II, which I did enjoy very much but would probably seem dated now. You manage a group of characters, and essentially you choose what class they are by having them use the skills/spells of that class over and over (which in turn influences how much stats improve). Its equipment is very Diablo II, if that makes sense. Sets, bonuses, maybe you'll obsess over mixing and matching. You can have a party member of a mule if you want to carry a crapload of stuff. Linear, quests that are mostly get the stuff, kill the bad guy, but for whatever reason I didn't care, because I kept finding STUFF. You can move the camera wherever you want (and may have to rotate quite a bit in tight places). I liked the magic system a lot. Basically a nature mage who can heal, summon big things, and do nature damage, and then the damage mage who can go ice or fire, summon stuff, and seriously blow things up. Rogues and Fighters (tank with shield, or dual wield, or big ass sword). You get a meter for each character and an uber power to use once it's full. Very fun old school stuff.

I played demo of DSIII, and it seemed much more console hybrid, but dude it's 5 bucks now...

Haaaaaa haaa ha.

Crysis flash deal up now. I think I'm going to have to leave my computer disconnected from steam for the next few days to avoid temptations like this [sigh]. Staying strong (I haven't purchased it yet) is difficult. I think some sleep should help my wallet for now ;).

Nothing for me today! This has been an easier sale to resist than usual. A few gifts to buy over the next week and maybe new Vegas complete and that could be it until the new blood bowl.

Oddly I've become addicted to getti new friend requests. It saddens me I havent recieved any in hours.

There you go, we can be friends now :)

Feel free to add me too!

Oddly, I've only had 2 friend requests this sale. I know there are a lot of new'ish people, but I don't know who you are! I just took a shower and brushed my teeth. It should be safe and sanitary to add me now.

I have no desire to play Crysis, but I would like to see what it looks like on my fancy new machine....

Don't care about the community choice, where should I send my vote?

Batman again for those that missed it I guess.

Do you think friend requests are any different than games during Steam sales? Each year there's less to get because you already have them all!

Boo you're a bad person and should be shunned by society.

Boo! Shun!

A big thank you to Prozac for Magicka, I cant wait to play it! You are awesome!

Thanks to MadDoc for Eschalon. It's been on my watchlist for a while.
