As for July, it'll definitely be one of the last two weekends of the month (7/21 or 7/28).
Excellent. I'm going to be in California all next week, and I need to keep my attendance streak going.
Racing, gaming, and shooting all sound fun.
I also submit a Round Rock Express game as a potential activity.
EDIT: Looking at the Express schedule, they have a home game on 7/21. So, that's an option. They also have home games on 3 Saturdays in August, so if not this month, it's an option for next month too.
I'm not much of a baseball fan, but I do enjoy going to the park from time to time, and I like going to minor-league sports in general (all the action, half the crowd, a third of the price!)
Yeah, this month is done for me, all family weekends. Free weekends coming in August.
Probably late to the party, but was catching up on my reader feeds. For the Prometheus group.

Brilliant!
Whoa, just discovered this thread!
Just returned from extended vacation so I am back in action on the local Goodjering front. Huzzah and high-fives!
Nice thread...wish there was a Houston one. I'll have to figure out how to search.

That's only a 3hr drive; kinda like mine from DFW.

If the Houstonians knew you existed, maybe there would be!
(There have been in the past, actually. It's been all downhill since Hemi left us and I had kids.)
(Except, I mean, I LOVE my kids, and Hemi's was a good move career-wise.)
(I'll stop talking now.)
I'm really out of steam on this one. 6 months is pretty good for a New Year's resolution, right? Anyone else want to pick this month?
I'm booked solid for July. However, August is soon.
January: Go kart month.
I'm up for either of the bottom two.
If anyone wants to take up the mantle on the "off months," I'll happily keep the OP updated as appropriate.
I will take August. Round Rock Express game, 8/25, unless people prefer one of the earlier Saturdays with home games (8/4 or 8/18). Last month that it's an option (barring postseason I guess) and I definitely want minor league sports included in our activity list. I love the Texas Stars games but I have not been to an Express or Toros game yet.
I'm under a lot of time pressure, so sorry for not reading the whole thread; but is something going on at the end of July in Austin? Cause I think I'm gonna be in Austin for part of ArmadilloCon, and then a writer's retreat starting Sunday, but if something is going on, I will do my level best to at least make an appearance if I'm in town. You'll know it's me by the tiara.
I going to pass on this month. Have fun ya'll.
I'm sorry guys, I won't be in Austin tomorrow after all. Have fun!
Took the bar in Austin recently and have decided I want to live there. If y'all hear about any lawyer gigs, hook it up (I'm a mid-level IP/complex commercial litigator). Plan to a spend lot of time in Austin greasing wheels, so I hope I can swing the next S&T.
So, I believe we are agreed Austin is racing month.
K1 go kart racing.
If we can get 8 people we get a group rate!
Yes, baseball now, and then Boogle can have 3 straight months of cart racing if he wants.
Deal. Go post the NFL pre-season thread you slacker.
I know it's a bit early, but I've learned that I will be in Austin Nov. 1 - 3 (Thur - Sat) on business. Technically my business ends on the afternoon of Friday the 2nd, but I won't be heading back home until the next day. Any chance of scheduling something for that Friday evening?

Your business ever bring you to Houston, my friend?
Your business ever bring you to Houston, my friend?
Unfortunately, not likely. My job involves almost zero travel. I'm attending the annual users' conference for my company's accounting software in Austin, where the developer is located. However, my wife and I are mulling over trying to get down to College Station for a game this year.
Chances are, your chances are, awfully good.
Looking forward to it!
