Summoner Wars Catch All

That thief deck murdered the hell out of me. Very cool, Raptordinance

The Cloaks in general are very hit and miss with me. When you pull off a good run it looks fantastic. When you overextend you die a quick and painful death like none other. Except maybe the Phoenix Elves.

Finally played the tutorial today. Went ahead and paid the full monte to unlock online play. It didn't click during the tutorial, but I have very high hopes!

It's chess! With cards! I'm a fanboy, though, so grains of salt all around.

I'm not any good at chess!

But I love Magic and some TRPGs/Fallout 1 combat.

REALLY need undo in this game. When I accidentally click on the character portrait instead of the attack number I should be able to cancel that.

Yes, that for sure. Mah fingers is fat.

It's not even asking for undo. A simply cancel like you can do with the movement would be all I need.

I agree. I have fat fingered that stuff a lot. It does not help that I am terrible at it.

My biggest complaint is that I wish it would ask you to confirm dropping a harmful event card on your own guy like it does when you attack your own people. Had a Cloaks player on the run and was about to Freeze Vlox but my finger slipped and I put it on my own Shaman which totally screwed up my attack.

For anyone that I was playing, I apologize that I had to forfeit. I'm going on vacation in a week and I got inundated at work. I haven't even picked up my iPad in two days.

Hopefully by August ( vacation and major projects will be completed ) I'll be able to play properly.

Again my apologies for accepting, then forfeiting, the challenges.

I've been absolutely infatuated with this - great games with everyone I've played and continue to play against. Today I was giving blood and playing SW on the iPhone with my right hand - went by in a flash.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like this game is buggy enough to get me to stop playing... at least it seemed so today, after I wasted a good 45 minutes on a game that came down to several borked cards that didn't seem to work.

I was playing the FALLEN KINGDOM faction against the TUNDRA ORCS.

The biggest issue I had came down to the endgame, where I had several commons and a champion who were on their last legs. I decided to summon this card:

IMAGE(http://www.plaidhatgames.com/images/games/summoner-wars/factions/fallen-kingdom/chm-Elut-Bal.jpg)

I started the turn with 4 magic.

Supposedly, each unit you remove from the battlefield reduces his summoning cost by 2. He was glowing blue in my hand, and when I dragged him to the battlefield, the game asked me to choose cards to sacrifice. I dragged two of my units off the screen and into my discard pile, and then clicked "done." I then tried to summon him, but nothing happened. Instead of saying cost of "3," he still said "7" and wouldn't allow me to do anything. This "bug" basically destroyed my chances of winning, since I'd sacrificed units and got nothing in return. If I wasn't holding a device worth several hundred dollars, it surely would have been bounced off the nearest wall. Definitely made me NOT want to play anymore if I know that I'm going to waste my time and not be able to play correctly.

I can see the Fallen Kingdom deck being a little buggy right now as it's quite unusual, and I haven't played it that much. That being said, I've played a ton and haven't experienced any bugs - I think the implementation is actually outstanding. I'd just stay away from FK for the time being until the next bug fix - still lots of other decks to play with.

Odd. I've never actually had a problem with Elut, even after sacrificing. I managed to get him out for cheap in one of my games vs. the AI after throwing out 3 Skele archers. I'll try to redo it to get it exact, down to the touches.

There have been other reports of it not working on the Plaid Hat forums, but it's with Forced Summon, not just with Elut's ability.

EDIT: So, I just did it with Elut twice, offline. Steps for what I did follow:

1.) He was outlined in blue, so I pulled him onto the board. He went back to my hand.
2.) I dragged the units I was sacrificing to the discard.
3.) I pulled Elut out of my hand to a summoning spot next to a wall.

I killed 3 units the first time, which brought him down to 1 magic, and all it took out of my Magic was one. I only sacrificed one unit the second time, and it took 5 out of my magic pool, exactly as expected.

This. Bugs happen. If you want to be really awesome, report it to Playdek. Looks like they're already aware though.

I know I have successfully sacrificed for Elut playing against the AI as well, I suppose it could be a multiplayer specific problem?

I've seen some a few complaints of bugginess elsewhere, but not experienced anything myself. It does seem like the game can be finicky about the order and location of tapping with some of the powers and that could certainly create an impression of problems (not saying that there might not also be actual problems).

Oh, I have a major bug. It crashes every time I hit create game. So if we're not playing, please send me an invite since I can't invite you.

Remove the app and reinstall seems to fix it per the iOS bugs thread on the official forums.

I saw that, trying it when I get home.

Not sure what to say about that. I did exactly as you described above, and yet after sacrificing two cards, his summoning cost didn't decrease.

I'm slowly trying to learn. Send me some challenges with 14 day timers, folks - I promise I will try to not take nearly that long.

Did it work? I'm now encountering this bug too!

What's your gamertag?

Been having some great games lately. In one, I think against Sixteenblue, I was playing Dwarves against his Jungle Elves. He rushed me hard and ruined my wall-destruction strategy. I was scrambling, and thought I was done for when he got my summoner down to one HP after I retreated him against a wall where he only gets hit by sixes and proceeds to roll two sixes against me. Fortunately I managed to draw and summon the champion who doesn't get hit if there are any misses in the roll, which is perfect for countering Jungle Elves. Between having him out and managing to heal my other champion, I managed to hold off the assault while literally being cornered, to the point where he just ran out of cards and I could kill his summoner.

Am also in a fascinating game as the Vanguards against a Jungle Elf Deck where a timely Holy Smite (+2 attack dice for priests) put my opponent on the defensive hard - can't wait to see how that turns out.

My handle is the same virtually everywhere, Dys. I need to update my sig, since I'm not playing D3 anymore.

It did. Just had to restore my in app purchases and I was good to go.

The number on the card doesn't actually go down. But if you have enough magic after the sacrifices and clicking DONE, he'll have the smoke around him meaning he can be played.

If I recall, a similar thing happens with Stalwart Archers for the Vanguard. You don't see the higher attack value on the card when they're adjacent to each other. But when you actually drag the attack number to attack, it suddenly goes up.

I had a problem with Elut where I can't summon him without sacrificing something. Is that correct? Even if I have enough to not need to sacrifice anything?

Just want to mention that I summoned Elut, with the correct discount, totally fine yesterday.

Just sent a round of Gamecenter invites out. This will be my first major iOS multiplayer experience, so be gentle.
