Toronto Goodjer Meetups

Well, I just had one beer, an oatmeal stout. But I don't often drink, and beer even less often.

We should plan another get-together sometime before the next IGWJD. I would think sometime mid-late november would work well, give us some room before things start getting crazy for the holidays.

As I've mentioned before, my scheduling for work is wonky, my job assignment can change from week to week, and more often than not I'm on call 24/7. However, I can guarantee 3 days off in a row each month that I can potentially take, and november 19th and 20th (sat & sun) both fall within my window of opportunity. So I would suggest if we are looking to do this again sometime soon, that is my optimal suggestion.

Can't believe I missed this. I live a whole 10 minute walk from C'est What.

Any chance of doing this again? And/or anyone fancy getting together for a Toronto in-person Artemis Bridge Simulator?

I would be interested in attending the next time too, and if anyone else from the Kitchener Waterloo Guelph area was interested too I could give them a lift.

I guess that does it. Gentlemen (and ladies, if we have some around), let us do this! I think C'est What worked well for most of us. Hopefully there will be no social insurrection this time around.

Bring. It. On.

Count me in! Probably. What date are we looking at?

I resurrected this thread, then I let it die. SO LET IT LIVE AGAIN.

How about pints on June 13th (a Wednesday) at The Jason George (George and Front)? We'll put a cap on it, since it's a school night: 7p - 9p. Not saying you have to leave at 9p, but no one feels obligated to stick around after 9p in case of stragglers should we all decide to pack it in. Nothing fancy, we're not going to play anything. Just show up and meet/remeet the Toronto contingent.

Who's up?

K, no takers, and the wife wants to do a shopping trip, so we'll cancel. Try again in the future.

Didn't even notice the resurrection until now. We very much should do something again in the future.

Same here, you've got to spam the hell out of it, man. OWN IT!

Yes, let us do something.

I'm good for most of the summer, but it's someone else's turn to organize.

The other way to ensure that you see updates here is to put it in your favourites. That's what I'm going to do.

Oh hey, now that's an idea.

I'm happy to help put something together, but it won't be fancy and it will probably be a couple weeks out.

"A couple weeks out," matches up with my decreasing workload as the school year ends just perfectly.

You guys pick it, I'll most likely be there. I don't mind repeating what we did last time.

THIS time I hope to actually make it to one of these if you can lean it a little closer towards Mississauga and not right downtown T.O.
Stoney Creek's a bit of a haul down the QEW.
Would be a short trip if that dang lake wasn't in the way!

I think part of the problem is that many downtown GWJers don't have cars to get down there. But if I'm wrong, I have no problem making the trip.

Since we're starting to coalesce around a date a couple of weeks from now, does the 30th work for everyone? awhite?

You can always come and stay by me. You guys still haven't come by to see the house.

I'm a tentative yes for the 30th. Weekends are a bit nuts for me, it's The Summer of All The Family Things Ever.

I can do Mississauga, so long as it's transit-accessible.

Unlike the rest of you lads, weekends are usually hit or miss for me. I'm a tentative yes for wherever and whenever. I'll generally know the day before whether I can commit or not.

I'm pretty sure I'd be willing to make the drive from Niagara on the 30th. It's the first day of my vacation too!

Isn't the 30th a long weekend? I'll be up in the Kawarthas that day. (Don't let that stop you folks from getting together, though.)

I'm out for the 30th. Doesn't look like we're going to have to be sticking around the city, so we've got a car and are heading to the inlaw's cottage. Happy meetup, folks!

Yeah - I'm out of town too for the long weekend.

This is looking like a bust for the long weekend.
Can we push it later into July or August?

I just came to post the same thing. What is it about Toronto that makes it hard to organize things? Our fierce independence and rugged good looks?

Anyway. I'm out of town from the middle of July to the beginning of August, but raring to go after that (or before).

I hate myself for posting this, but would it be helpful to do something like this?

I guess we'll find that out soon. One way or another we'll figure out a way haha

I think it's lack of leadership. Nobody wants to step on anybody's toes. Typical Torontonians. Well, damn that.

We are meeting on the following Saturday, July 7th, in C'est What. This is close enough for all sorts of public transportation for everybody to be able to make it. If anybody is coming from far west (e.g. Judge), they can crash at my place in Clarkson (right by the GO station).

If you can't make it, then you can't make it. If you can, fantastic. We'll drink some beers and talk evilly about people who didn't come. Maybe even play some games too.

I.... am going to be in Vegas that day. That's a shame.

We'll drink beers and talk evilly about you.

Done! What time? Evening?
