Looks like I picked the wrong week to make plans on four different evenings.

Fantastic! It will be the first night at my parents' house after my two year old's first plane ride. I think I'll need to escape to another world, dystopic or not, for a while to unwind.

Anyone else feel a bit disjointed killing zombies in D3 after playing this game? It's a weird shift from world to world. But then again, Lee's not nephalem.

They did say it'd come out this month, so I'd assume that it would be released this week. End of the month and all.

Brilliant!

Really loved the first episode!

The word is that this episode will be "more brutal." I'm down.

Playing now! Woooooooo Finally.

Played the first episode last night and I really enjoyed it. The story is good, and Telltale really seems to have captured the essence of an interactive t.v. episode. I am itching to go back and replay it while making different choices.
Quick-time combat is so-so, and I died a couple of cheap deaths, but never more than once to the same enemy. Combat is not a big part of the game though, so even though combat isn't great, it's hardly a big flaw.

I have the 2nd episode ready to be downloaded on the 360 when I get home from work.

Great news! Glad to hear this thing is out. I won't be able to try it out until tomorrow night, but then it's time for some low lights, loud sound, tasty beverages, and hopefully a few shrieks of terror here and there.

How's the performance so far for anyone who's had a chance to play Episode 2? Episode One had some weird slow-downs/audio chop for me in places.

It has some hang ups here and there. Like as a scene is loading, the video will just freeze for a few seconds. There are more action sequences, though. I died twice in this episode and I had no deaths in the first one. Otherwise, I had a great time. Some good moments, and it's pretty brutal. I would love to have a spoiler discussion, because I totally saw something coming.

Edit: Maybe I should be more specific... the hang up freeze thing would be in between interactive and non-interactive scenes mostly, but sometimes it would just hang during a camera cut.

I thought it was great, but didn't stand alone very well. When the whole story is out I bet this will be one of the best parts, but waiting a month for the story to progress leaves me a little disappointed. It barely advances the plot, though it does everything it does very well. It's concise and well paced. There are a few great great moments.

I think I saw coming what you saw coming. I even called it out to my buddy.

All in all this Episode works like Ravenholm, but without the immediate change of scenery needed afterward. Can't wait to be able to play these all out as one. Whenever that will be.

The first 2 achievements didn't pop for me, though I beat the whole episode. Might be a bug.

Yeah, it's so tempting for me to just wait until all the episodes are out from here on, and just play the rest as one chunk. The wait for this episode was bad, though, so I'm not sure I'll be able to do that.

I think there were some pretty good decisions in this one too. I like the way TT is forcing you to make a choice one way or the other with some decisions. It reinforces the whole theme of what you have to do to survive after the world falls apart.

Just started playing, and I'm already noticing more technical jankiness with this episode (on the 360). Stuttering between camera angles, audio stutters, and lots of little freezes. Weird, since you would assume it would be on par with the previous episode, but I didn't notice it nearly as much before.

And man, the beginning IS brutal...

There was a fair Mount of stuttering. Surprisingly, there was a lot of it during the "on the next Walking Dead" bit at the end. Like, every time the camera angle changed.

Any idea when ep 2 is supposed to come out on pc?

Argh! I was hoping the PC version would be out today(yesterday), but alas, it's not. From the official forum it appears that the PC version
is coming out Friday, June 29th. Hmm.. looks like I'll get a chance to get on with the growlin' and the chompin' on Saturday.

EDIT:
It looks like Episode II is now available on Steam. Downloading now!

And finished. Wow, they don't pull any punches do they?

Got to admit, the...

Spoiler:

zombie music teacher bit

got a jump out of me.

for the record, my choices...

Spoiler:

- cut off the music teachers leg. This game sure does love whackin' things with axes
- fed the kids, larry and the redshirt...whatever his name was
- tried to save larry in the freezer (that was one brilliantly effed-up kill btw )
- didn't shoot the crazy shopmart lady, the brother did it
- killed the first brother, let the second one live
- sided with clem and refused to steal the supplies

I read here and thought I'd find it on PS3. Looks like MS has some lead time?

Beat it twice to see the different options play out, good stuff. My only complaint is the stuttering that occurs as has been mentioned. Luckily this isn't the type of game where that gets you killed a lot, more annoying than anything. I'm hooked, waiting on the next episode.

YAY! I got to fix a swing. Really enjoying episode 2 so far.
Oddly enough, Episode 2 has not exhibited any slow-downs/freezes/stuttering for me so far, while Episode 1 froze/stuttered quite a bit.

Had some stuttering on the PC version as well. Turned off shadows and it's been completely smooth since.

Just finished ep2. Man, tough, subtle choices. Sometimes wish it was easier like, "Hey! Which ice cream flavor do you like best?" but I guess it's pretty engrossing this way too.

This episode was amazing, more tense than the first and with harder choices to make. Of course you could see the twist coming a mile away but it was still tense from the anticipation.

This just an example of the new Xbox dashboard being poorly organized or am I just blind because I have not seen Episode 2 anywhere since Wednesday. Going to search on xbox.ca to make sure I'm not crazy.

It works as DLC that you have to purchase in-game. Boot up Episode 1 and it'll give you the option to buy Episode 2 when you click on it.

I had a helluva time getting past this:

Spoiler:

killing the zombie in the truck

I had to look at a forum for help. Turns out that

Spoiler:

when you press q as you gouge the zombie's eyes, you need to press the right directional button to position the head if you didn't pick Carley to survive in the previous episode. FYI, the indicator for this is MISSING in the PC version. Just so you know. Multiple deaths prior to that.

Lots of tension so far in this episode though I have a way to go. Great job by Tell Tale.

Thanks skeletonframes. I found it during a search on xbox.ca. Booted it up and was hit with immediate awesome... well, just about. The game still performs like garbage. A couple times during my first 15 minutes I thought the game was going to hard lock on me.

Only played for about half an hour and its been fun. I was able to use the highest graphic settings this time on my 6970 without geometry missing. Not sure if the game fixed something or the 12.5 or 12.6 drivers did it.
