EA games in general go to crap when they decide to monetize it to the hilt. The Be a Pro mode was solid on its own. That was my point. How EA decides to ruin their products through nickel and diming customers is another story.
By NHL 11, I looked at what you needed to do to earn boosts and such, and it was ridiculous. One was winning the Norris two years in a row. Considering my guy was still in the minors, I was looking at 240 games, minimum. That's if everything went perfect. And if it was that easy to guarantee, why do it?
Basically they just made XP so hard to earn that if you wanted to progress, the only realistic way to do it was buy your way. And that just ruined it even for someone like me that was never going to play EASHL games, and just wanted to play offline.
For what it's worth, EA did the opposite with Tiger Woods 13, as they provided plenty of ways to grow your player by just playing the game. They want to make their bank selling you courses. But at least you can play the game for $60 and enjoy it.
As for NCAA, I got a few games into a college season and got bored. Not interested in RTG at all. The Heisman stuff might actually be interesting though. The emphasis is on playing the game, not growing your player. If the challenges are similar to what NBA 2K11 did with Jordan, it might be a fun diversion while waiting for the league roll.
 100%!

I'm going to be so glad if they've fixed the DBs who can look back at the last moment and intercept a pass even though they had been beaten deep...and the warping/high jumping LBs. Ugh.
On the other hand, I had an amazing play yesterday in an offline game: opposing team is down 16, scores a TD. They line up to go for 2, but I had called the FG block out of habit. I jammed the audibles button to try to call something, but it was pretty much all FG blocks.
The QB hikes the ball, fakes a handoff to the FB, then flips it out to the HB who is running wide left. The only problem? My LB had broken through the line... He intercepted the flipped ball and ran it back 98 yards for 2 points.
