Now I do love Neil DeGrasse Tyson

The man just keeps on giving.

Talk about Commercial enterprise vs. government in Space

A quick re-scan of this thread tells me that this video hasn't been posted here. You have all probably seen it already, though. If you haven't, it's the funniest I've seen, and also the most passionate.

He covers a lot of the same old topics people ask him about, but differently enough to be worth a watch.

This is only tangentially about NdGT, but I love it anyway. Mostly this though:

Another clip I saw awhile back that really resonated with me.

The last 12 minutes of this talk are some of Neil at his best. LOVE IT.

Awesome video!

He was on NPR Morning Edition today, talking about science in the early-summer blockbusters.

The graceful, eloquent passion that he exhibits for scientific discovery and investigation is inspiring. I just wish his message could filter down to more people.

/facepalm

At long last, Star Talk is finally set to premiere on November 1st!

Looks like a fun panel coming up in CT.

THat's a Wu Tang guy? Huh. I thought it was you, PRed. Cos, you know, all astronomers look the same.

I've seen this many-a-times and it still gets me to the core:

Just 1 measly percent!

That is awesome.

Embedding for maximum convenience.

I had some issues getting the code to work; just a blank box. Thanks MeatMan.

Spoiler:

In the last 10 minutes you see that the ISS has movies to watch. For some ungodly reason our astronauts decided to watch Apollo 13.

Just finished listening to that, too. Thanks for the heads up. At the end of the talk, he reminds us about the reboot of Cosmos, but it won't be airing until 2014. So far away! Can't freakin' wait! I literally never watch broadcast TV these days, but I'll most definitely be tuning in for this.

Superman's codpiece appears to be cracking, he must really love Neil DeGrasse Tyson.

Still want to have dinner with him, even if I can't have it with Twain, Tesla, or Turing.
