Torchlight 2 Catch-All

Are their other pre-purchase bonuses than the Steam bonus (i.e. extra copy of Torchlight 1)?

As far as I know, the only other place you can pre-purchase is at perfectworld.com but I don't see any bonus listed, so I guess Steam is the only one.

Fair enough. I haven't found anything else, either.

Either way, buying it. Just not pre-buying it unless any other offers show up!

I've gotten my Embermage to level 13 and I'm enjoying the heck out of it. I don't have a capable machine for Diablo 3 but I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything since I have this (minus the cultural zeitgeist).

Really good stuff.

The bonus is a Early access to the Beta of Neverwinter night MMO.

Huh, you'd think they'd want to mention that on the site. Nothing here and nothing here.

Yay! I got into the Torchlight 2 beta!

... until tomorrow afternoon.

I also tried the outlander first, but it seemed weak and less fun that I expected, so I abandoned it once I reached level 10.

After playing a berserker yesterday to about level 12 just to check it out, today I just put another 2.5 hours into my outlander, as today is the final day of the beta. The outlander is rather weak at low levels, but it gets quite better as you get into the mid-teens, when you can unlock better skills and begin to find better weapons and gear ... such as this beauty.

Sure, I put an additional 130 points of damage on it (via the eyeball in the weapon's socket and the 55 ice damage enchantment via a NPC), but this thing mows down mobs with ease.

One thing that TL2 has over Diablo is item affixes. They really really get what players want from affixes and weapon description layout.

Just looking at even low level items is more interesting than any of diablo 3's level 60 items. And it also looks like a huge improvement from TL's affixes. Although I do hope the Sushi hat is still in the game.

PS. Extra extra points to Runic if it is in the game and actually looks like a sushi or a fish, I'm not fussy that way.

Please tell me they have confirmed keybindings. That was one of my biggest problems with the original.

I need a freaking release date... I'm tired of waiting...

I thought they shut down the beta?

I might be dismisremembering, but I think I saw the option to change those on the Options Menu.

Also, regarding TL1: http://forums.runicgames.com/viewtop...

I looked at the settings folder for the TL2 beta (documents/my games/runic games/torchlight 2 beta) and it's very similar.

"As it seems there is no possibility to remap actions to mousebuttons yet. The same is true for modifier keys (Alt/Shift/Ctrl).
If it's supported by your mouse-driver, you could map additional mousebuttons to keyboard keys though. Another possibility would be to use some macro programs like AutoHotkey or AutoIt."

If I TL2 isn't going to let me map I to my mouse I will be unhappy.

That unhappiness should be fairly brief. Just use AutoHotkey.

This. Time invested learning how to use AHK is time well spent. It's pretty much a skeleton key to most input related problems, or macros you want to tackle.

I'm fairly new to PC gaming so you are kind of speaking a foreign language to me.

It's ridiculously easy. Just download AutoHotkey and install. Open the sample script it prompts you with when you start the program and remove everything. Add this line:

XButton1::i

"XButton1/2/etc." is the variable for your extra mouse buttons. "i" is "i" on your keyboard. "::" remaps the first button to the second. Save the script, which is basically just a text document, and click Reload this Script within the context menu of AutoHotkey located in your system tray. If it's not there, start it up again.

http://www.autohotkey.com/docs/misc/... describes remapping keys in further detail.

This is one of the better aspects of PC Gaming. You can tinker and have it your way, learning new things in the process that most times can be used on other stuff.

Had to use it for DAO and DA2, for that silly show loot button.

Yep. May 24 was the last day.

Agreed. They need to get Torchlight 2 out. I'm itching so much!!!

I may have a cream that can help.

I will gladly pay them extra if they bundle cream in with my Steam download.

I dove back into Torchlight XBLA this weekend.

Man, I'm a sad panda over T2 not coming to consoles.

I heard that they are aiming a end of July release. So we still have awhile...

Citation not worth getting. ;P

Just got into Torchlight 1 recently. Having a great time with it, so definitely looking forward to Torchlight 2 this summer.

I'm ready to rumble on this, along with my cheap friends who skipped out on D3. Finally a phat loot game we can rock together!
