I wrote up a list earlier today of all the games we played on Saturday, but these last few posts seem to indicate I forgot a few... here's what I had, for posterity:

  • Zombie Dice
  • Ascension: Chronicle Of The Godslayer
  • Giant Cthulhu Dice
  • 7 Wonders
  • Quarriors
  • Miskatonic School for Girls
  • Wrath of Ashardalon: A D&D Boardgame
  • Telestrations: 12 Player Party Pack

...

Pandemic. It was much fun, and we saved the world!

I'd really love to try and get out for this if you do it again on a weekend I don't already have an overloaded house full of nerds.

I'd also love to suggest a trip up to Pinball Wizard:http://www.pinballwizardarcade.com/ -- it's not all that far from Boston.

Last but not least, what about a goodjer trip to Canobie lake. http://www.canobie.com/

35 minutes north of Boston. Super fun. Some great arcades on site too (grin).

It would have been so great for rabbitcon to have taken a field trip!

I <3 that place! Rabbit's right, they have a really solid arcade there, plus a couple of other spaces around the park with some classic games. It costs about half of what Six Flags New England (or Riverside to long-time New England residents) does, and the rides aren't too bad.

Is there a weekend in June that works well for people?

Or invited us all over too. What's another dozen nerds?

I actually haven't been to Canobie Lake yet so I'm intrigued.

Glad you all had fun with that, I was bit nervous I botched explaining the rules.

Failed septic system and total infrastructure collapse?

So the nerd equivalent of Woodstock?

Water slides and roller coasters = hell yes.

These trips are relevant to my interests. Never been to either place but they sound great!

i checked out Pinball Wizard when i moved out here way earlier this year, definitely a lot of fun. There's a decent pizza place next door as well as a Chunky's Pub and Cinema.

I finally dug into the Ticketmaster and Songkick websites, holy crap there are way too many bands playing up here I want to see.

Anyone else into Sleigh Bells? They're playing July 3rd, I think. I don't mind going concerting alone but a pal never hurts.

That said, I'll probably be hitting a lot of concerts. My tastes vary pretty well so I'll likely use this thread to see if anyone else is interested in joining me. I humbly request your ongoing glances

Edit: Nerd-related, MC Chris and Powerglove in Allston on July 13th. I'm likely there, too.

I'm down for most concerts if I can afford them. I can't justify the solo trip... MC Chris and Powerglove sounds sick.

Also, July 7th for our next trip to the Red Room of Games? This time I'll bring my Dark Age stuff instead of just talking about it.

What is Red Room of Games? Google is stumped.

It's a bad joke referencing that '50 Shades of Grey' book all the cool kids are reading right now.

The main character calls his Love Dungeon the 'Red Room of Pain'. See what I did there?

.....

I'm sorry...

But seriously, July 2nd for people?

That's a Monday.... :\

Whoops, was looking at June!

I'm the worst today.

Let's try July 7th...

July 7th...where now? What's going on?

I'll be out in Ohio for that week (maybe swing by Castle Von Goodjer on my way back).

July 7th should work. I did check out Borderland State Park, and while it's a spectacular place, it's a bit light on picnic tables -- and what is there doesn't have much covering.

How about someplace a bit more indoorsey? Anyone have access to like a community rec center, or a school cafeteria?

Was there some sort of consensus reached about the 7th?

I'll sign myself (and my kids) up for the 7th, if anyone else wants to join. I haven't had any luck finding alternative (indoor) locations that can accommodate a few dozen people in relative privacy for low/no cost, though. Assuming nobody else has either, should we head to the last known-good location, in Northborough?

I think we're tentatively down for the 7th. The Northborough location was nice!

If it's not too ridiculously hot, Polypusher and I are also tentatively down for the 7th.

Sadly, I will not be able to make it. I will be in CT celebrating my father's birthday. I will keep an eye on this thread in case more days open up; I picked up a handful more games to be played since the last time we did this.

So, uh... it's supposed to be 97 degrees tomorrow, with a probably strong thunderstorm in the afternoon. I realize that weather reports are generally meaningless in New England unless in regards to past events, but that doesn't sound like very favorable outdoor-boardgaming weather. Would anyone be terribly upset if we pushed this out to another weekend? Maybe we can try the 14th or 21st?

I have to agree here. Let's push it out.

As much as I would like to do this today, Heat stroke and electrocution aren't fun.

Hey all, not to derail too much, but I mentioned the game Im working on at the last S&T and wanted to make sure you guys all saw the announcement here. We announced the game today and we're in a Closed Beta that's basically open for anyone who wants to try it.

So this is a sort of shameless selfish bump that isn't about arranging any playdates. However, I would much rather ask the local Goodjer community than trust Yelp on this...

Can anyone give a recommendation (or two) for moving companies in either the Boston or MetroWest areas? Tomorrow, Demyx and I are signing a lease on our new apartment so we need to start planning the logistics and neither of us have vehicles that are equipped to move furniture.

When I moved in Dec '10, I used Precision Moving. I was really happy with them. I was just moving me with a one-bedroom's worth of stuff from Brookline to Malden, and I was organized as hell, but they managed to get the truck loaded, driven to the new pad, and unloaded within 2.5 hours. Nothing broken, whole thing went really well. I'm probably going to use them again when I wind up moving up to NH.

If you can, try and move on a weekday. I think they were significantly cheaper during the week than the weekend.

Holy f-ing crap. I nominate for worst forum participant. started is thread, totally lost track of it and as a result have not participated in anything that has been organized. Doooh!

ok so that out of the way. whats next I am totally in.
