Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

Claimed 72D7W-HJYDD-6G497-TFXMH-Q3YYZ. Thanks!

Oh. Apparently that is for ghost recon online.

Here is future soldier

I have an extra code for the taking:

Spoiler:

GRN-JWL3-CNMQ-MAA4-FLUG

and if someone isn't interested in keeping their TF2 items that came along with the pre-order.
Let me know

So I'm stupid and ignore my own thoughts on a regular basis. I preordered this... on the 360.

I don't know. I don't really have an explanation. I'm just dumb.

From what little I've seen of it, my impression is "more ghost recon AW", and if you liked that, then great. For me it seems like something I'll get to eventually, but I'm not greatly enthusiastic about it and in no rush, especially with Ubisoft's attitude to PC.

I think fond memories of co-op is what eventually got me. The problem with that is that the series doesn't have the following around here that it used to and my other friends that used to play too have all had fairly significant changes as far as their taste in games go. Really not sure how much chance there will be for co-op this time around, but I guess I'll see soon enough.

I played the beta and enjoyed it, but i'm not buying for the 360.

Yeah I remembered you saying you were in on the PC. Is there anybody else here getting the 360 version? If not I guess I need to start nagging my friends and hope I can talk somebody into picking it up.

My copy will be on 360 that I'm getting from Gamefly. I am going to be gone this weekend, so I wouldn't be able to play until next Tuesday probably.

Just picked up my copy for xbox. Excited about Guerrilla mode and objective based game modes, but most of my friends aren't getting the game. Anyone out there looking for squad mates, send me an invite. Just send me a message first letting me know where you found me. Thx

At one time I was interested in this for 360. Any idea what the general verdict is? The release snuck up on me, never a good sign.

Edit: Never mind. I have more than enough stuff to keep me occupied.

Given the initial reviews, I'll probably pick it up on the Xbox 360 eventually especially for the co-op and online action. However, it might be a couple of weeks.

Ditto on the edit. I'm interested in, but I already have stuff on the pile that I'm more interested in. Tell you what though, if you want to put a group together in 3 or 4 months, I'd probably be down.

Man, this thing is getting some decent reviews.

I'll wait for a sale though.. just too much on the plate right now.

I could easily be persuaded to pick it up cheap over the summer for some co-op action. Feel free to message me later if that comes together.

Even if i was planning on the 360 D3 has too much of my gaming time and wouldnt spend but 1 or 2 hours. Luckily the pc version is 2 weeks out.

I really liked playing GRAW co-op back in the day with Goodjers, but like ranalin, D3 has it's claws into me pretty solidly for the near future. I hope to grab this in the next couple of months, but will probably have missed the boat.

I await impressions, eagerly!

I'm waiting to see how the PC version turns out.

So far I like it.

That is my feeling as well. Looks pretty cool, and i have never played a Ghost Recon, but I have a ton on my pile already.

Played a fair bit of the singleplayer in co-op with a friend, and between the two of us we convinced a third to pick it up so I'll have some people to play with regardless.

That said, the SP/Co-Op campaign is fun but very rough around the edges. Do you like Steve Blum? I hope you like Steve Blum. He talks a lot during this game, and it's impossible not to picture Spike Spiegel constantly while you're supposed to be listening to the mission briefing.

Co-op is really making the game, due mostly to some hilarious failures to communicate between my buddy and I. Like spending ages sneaking up on a guy, getting right up behind him preparing to snap his neck, only to have my partner pop the guy in the side of the head with a round from his rifle, and have said round also thunk on the wall right next to a second guard and set off the alarm and bring the whole camp down on top of us. There's been a few of these where we think we're on the same page and then... we aren't. Usually makes for the funny. And the game checkpoints pretty regularly and we've never had to replay more than a three or four minutes worth of game when one of our screwups gets us killed or one of us fails an objective spectacularly so it's been easy to just laugh at our mistakes.

On the other hand the game has some bad habits like taking control away from the player too often, and some of the most linear level design in in the history of the entire series. If any of you remember those wide open large landscape co-op maps from GRAW and GRAW 2, there's none of that here, at least as far as I can tell. I haven't explored everything in the multiplayer menu yet so I may be missing something, but I don't think there's anything like that here.

I think the real meat, and the real fun too, are going to be in the Guerilla game mode and the versus multiplayer. Guerilla is kind of like Horde, at least from what I can tell, but with much more structure than the "defend a spot" game types ever had in the past couple Ghost Recon titles. You don't even start off in the point you have to hold. You're supposed to wipe out the first wave of guys that are defending it without getting spotted. That said, I've never been past wave 5 or maybe 6 (was trying it out by myself) so I'm not sure if they try to spice things up with some variety in objectives or if it just remains "defend the spot" after that initial round until the end at wave 50.

Do we have a GWJ 360 squad yet? What do the squads do?

ThinJ, Is Guerrilla mode supposed to be the new Terrorist Hunt or is that still in?

This just arrived on my doorstep yesterday. I had pre-ordered along time ago and had completely forgotten it was coming out this week. I haven't opened it yet but checked out some reviews. I'm a bit disappointed that their is no split-screen campaign co-op (only the horde type mode).

I took a good long look at this but then remembered the last three modern FPSs, which failed to hold my interest. Then I remembered the other Ghost Recon games, which were so unforgiving as to be unplayable. This one's still on my wish list but I think I'll wait for some reviews and a sale.

As far as I can tell based on what very little time I had last night, plain old terrorist hunt isn't in there. It might be buried in a submenu or something, I don't know. It is an Ubisoft game. The option might exist and just not be very clearly labeled.

Again, it looks to me like Guerilla is the only multiplayer mode other than versus that isn't just the campaign. As for what exactly Guerilla offers... it's 50 waves long and I've only played five of them. The first one is sneak in, kill guys quietly and take over a specific position. The waves I played after that were spent defending that same point. I have no idea if it moves you around the level or maybe changes up objectives in later waves.

Only had a couple hours with the game last night and I spent the majority of that in the campaign playing co-op. Might play some of the Guerilla mode tonight, might not depending on how long the campaign is or whether we decide to finish it or not.

Have you done MP yet? I'm curious about the xp levels. During beta it started off looking to be a VERY long grind to get to max level, but toward the end they doubled it.

Thanks for the reviews. I've played all GR's from the start and enjoyed them. But I remember early on how linear they could be and it drove me nuts how allot of the terrain was not accessiable. (like just climbing up on a rock). And in one GR, can't remember which, in SP, the AI's every shot was a hit(and from a dang long way off!). Uggh!

Anyway, I had heard initial rumors it was so-so and was going to hold off for awhile. But if more positives keep showing up I may not be able to hold out.

After watching the Giant Bomb quicklook and reading some reviews I've come to the conclusion that the only thing that really interests me about this is the gunsmithing stuff. Think I'm going to pass.
