I'm working on getting a pricing structure together, we'll hopefully have something to announce this week. Once that happens, we'll see. I don't think we can have more than 60 people without anyone sleeping on the floor.

However, we will be able to have more than 60 for sure, I don't know where I need to put a cap on tickets though.

If it wasn't for the baby I would be one of the first to volunteer to sleep in a tent.

The gypsy wagon looked pretty sweet

Yeah. I've done floors. I've slept in a basement shower stall with a concrete floor. Whee. Guess what? I'm 40, my wife's 42, we are in decent to great shape - beds. I want a bed. And I plan on getting a room or a gypsy wagon. Old age kids. It's coming and it ain't pretty so work out now.

My question for Teneman... Is it Coke or Pepsi products at the castle?

Also, if it is allowed and spacing IS an issue, I will gladly tent it up.... ask Oily... I did it in his backyard... and when I say did it, you know what I mean!!!

With how often I've seen you in pajama pants, I'm surprised that this is the first "pitching a tent" joke I've heard you elude to.

He means erected.

A tent you perverts.

This is relevant to my interests.

Coke. None of that pansy Pepsi stuff on my property. Except for my wife's personal supply. She's a Pepsi person. I married her anyway. That's love.

Actually at the moment the castle has neither Coke nor Pepsi. They don't serve soft drinks. We're rectifying that. It will almost certainly be rectified by October. It will almost certainly be Coke. And there will almost certainly be some awesomeness around the serving of such Coke. The penguin and I, we've talked.

So, what role should I be playing when I arrive? We are going to re-enact some of World War Z where the British holed up in their castles? Right? Dibs on a pike. I could dig spike pits but those will get clogged up real fast and then Zed will just use dead Zed to walk on over Rover.

If reservations go fast, what is the closest place? While I would love to give teneman my money, I would assume flyers and family people have higher priority than my single self. From them Google map you guys look pretty isolated.

(I am contemplating increasing my drive time by 6hr if we do LAN.)

I have the time and the permission to do this. I really want to come.

I may have to try and hop on with you all like the original plan was last year.

also, Teneman, I know I'm late to the party, but congrats. That is the best purchase I've seen all year (and likely to see). I saw the thread the other day and had assumed someone was buying their "castle" as in home, not an actual castle.

Totes.

Apparently in my excitement, I double quoted.

I cry myself to sleep at night, screw Coke and Pepsi...but Pepsi has Mt Dew!!!!

Thanks guys

And complex, I'm not sure if Oily is going to allow more people than the castle will hold, or cap it at that, or something else. That's totally up to him. If he does allow more than the castle will hold, there's a bunch of bed and breakfasts, cabins and cottages around, most within a 10-15 minute drive. If that becomes an issue, I'll contact one (planning to get to know them anyway) and see if I can make arrangements for overflow.

Sorry I might of misunderstood oily when he said that castle might be limited to sixty but the con itself is not limited to such.

Teneman - If I wanted to guarantee a space at your site - castle, cottage, etc, should I do so now?

Judging from what I've read, that duty is being bestowed on Oily who essentially rented out the entire place.

Bingo. For those two nights, I've sold all rooms to Oily. He'll distribute them however he and his cabal of planners decide. I'm guessing it'll be based on beer oriented bribes, but I'm not sure.

For nights other than Friday/Saturday you'll need to work with me - at least if you want to get the GWJ/PenCon double discount - but I won't be able to help you out there until I take official ownership in a week or two.

As oily stated earlier in the thread, give him a few days to try to get some info out. There is a committee that is helping him sort things out and we are trying to get all the info sorted so you all can have a wonderful time at Pencon 2012.

Another small flyer to put out there, if anyone is between Florida and Ohio and is willing to arrive early by a day or two and needs a ride pm me.

Before too long I bet we need to get a g-doc started to manage the driving/game bringing/room sharing/RPG playing/brew bringing/crazyness making we all have plans/needs for.

Yup, though probably better to do so after we get the pricing/ticketing system in place.

It's amazing seeing all this excitement and it's been just two weeks since the last event!

PENCON EVERY MONTH.

Sure, just make one of those months down here.

+1 but if it could be moved a bit closer to my house.

Hamilton would be about halfway between us.

I'll probably come. I'll also bring that really drunk girl again. She can be fun from time to time.

The facility has beds for 60 (though that number is probably counting king and queen size beds as 2). We will, however, be cramming in as many as we can get with the only cap being the fire code.

We have a staff meeting on Wednesday night and we'll talk general price and housing ideas. We'll announce things as soon as we have a working plan. I very much doubt that it will come to sleeping in tents by necessity, however. Teneman gave me a sheet today that lists what each room can sleep with existing beds and what they can sleep comfortably with floor space (since every room is different). We'll get it figured out with hopefully enough room for everyone.

Early adopters will get their pick of rooms, though. So fair warning =)
