JO Tonight? Please please please....

TKOTH only would be a nice change, I''m all for it.

There are some maps where a non-default spawn gets the vehicles. One of the big, open, mountainous maps(the Dutch villa one, maybe?) has choppers at Alpha. The trick is remembering where the particular vehicle you want spawns on a given map, when it''s not the default. I''ve noticed a few maps where this is true.

I wish I''d been there for the Squad/fireteam stuff. I''ll try to make it tonight. I''ve even been practicing my flying some, so hopefully you guys won''t be afraid to fly Air Ducki.

Well I think we''ll pretty much fly anything now as long as we go to the hill.:) We got in the chopper with some moron last night who took us to the enemy spawn.

Also don''t forget we also ship ground via TRUCK.

I''ve noticed the helicopers in the base assault training mission only fly at medium gear. It would be better practice for me if they flew at full speed.

I thought they did - I had so much trouble aiming for the radar dish because of the downward tilt of high gear.

Edit: When the GWJ server was up full time, I''d just log in there - it was empty a lot of the time - and fly around whatever map was up. Now, I''ll just pick an empty server - any empty server - that''s on a map that I know has choppers, and zip around, learning to land in certain places, NOE flying, etc.

I never did get that radar thing blown up in the training mission.

Novaworld is fairly cruddy, but one real nice thing is the search by player. Man, does that make for a significantly easier time hooking up with people instead of the BF ""what server are you on?"" ""I can''t find one by that name"" ""was that with brackets or without?"" dialogue.

Yeah, I liked that the first time I saw it. On X-Fire.

This is a JO thread! We don''t need your BF propaganda.

I won''t be able to play tonight got a few things to take care of.

Server will be up shortly, I''ll pack it with TKOTH maps.

Ok, server is now up with every KOTH map available. Not only that, maps should not repeat before moving to the next one now. I''ll probably be on at some point tonight I think!

""WHEEEEEE!""

They better not! *shakes fist*

Uh oh. I think our strategy of ''everyone be a medic except for Tenchid and keep reviving ourselves while he kills everything'' may need to be rethought.

I''m never a medic. If I was, who would save us all from helicopters or fast moving vehicles?

What time will you guys be playing tonite? I might find some time.

I''ll probably be on in and around 8:00PM CST. Seems like anytime after that most people are on.

It may be a looonnggg night for team GWJ.

I''ll try to be on at around 8 CST but if I''m a little late, it''s because I''m packing for my vacation.

I''d almost say it was time for Minase to put away the sniper rifle so he could stand in for Tenchid, but that would leave us open to .... snipers.

However, with all the medics we have and the judicious use of the commanders screen, the snipers aren''t really a problem.

Another good night all around. It never ceases to amaze me some of the cool maps you find that aren''t in the regular rotation. Plus, it''s always fun when the ""neighborhood"" kids comes a callin''.

Iran... shheesh.

I usually don''t play a sniper on the TKOTH maps. Most of them aren''t really built for sniping, so I play rifleman or medic. I''ll break out the sniper rifle if no one else on the team is doing it, but otherwise I''ll be content to run around with you guys and die alot.

Man, I scored some great RPG hits tonight. Like the one where I shot the amphibious vehicle from way up the mountain killing 3. We should definetly have another game somewhere this week, but not tommorow, lets not get tired of it.

It seems that I mostly stayed in the bottom of the chart tonite, but oh ill get you guys. Someday.

Man, that last game I was wishing you could have your sniper rifle with those damn spawn campers. I didn''t really enjoy the guys running around at light speed with just knifes or pistols. I figure thats why I thought they were cheating when a layed a whole clip into them from about 5 feet and they just turned and shot me in the head with a pistol. Probably something screwy with the game mechanics there. I hope that gets patched out of the game. (end of whining)

Man, I was having fun with the little bird gunship in that one map. Between me and my new best friend, Busta Cap, we ruled that map with an Iron Hand!

You did ok last night....but then I''m usually at the bottom of the standings as well, so don''t rely on my opinion.

I had great fun, though with the team switching, I didn''t get to experience the fireteam thing.

I found the fact that we could drive the Zodiacs into the Chinook awesome in potential, and before the buggy pushed me out, I actually was able to move very slowly under my own power, so we don''t need to push them out. That could be great fun on maps like the Twin Islands or other water-heavy maps.

Someone that remembers the TS IP should go set up a Thursday game again.

And Surga Mtn Overwatch is a brutal map. Such a tiny circle and such poor approaches. It screams ""organize, you fools!""

Roger that! What a pain. It really pays for everyone to be medics, I guess, and on TS. You really need some teamwork to defend that.

to defend that.

Defend? I was thinking Attack, but in general, it''s a great map.
I need to go reread the Gamespot JO guide and post a list of the maps that generally turn out to be a race to be the first person to find a hiding spot. Don''t like those ones, and they are listed/noted in that guide. Maybe we could just take all the ""rush for a hiding spot"" maps out of rotation and leave the ones that don''t favor doing things like Zed did on Kartone Narrows and I did on Banyan Forest - hurry to the zone, hide well, go take a coffee break, come back in 30 minutes. Meh.

Both. TKOTH changes so quickly you need to be able to do both.
