Good vibes Family P

Really hoping this went well right now.

I came in to post just the same thing, SD. Really hoping for the best for you and yours Pro.

posting from phone. All went well more comprehensive update to follow.

I can understand your fear. He'll be kicking your ass in no time! Congrats on sealing your doom!

Spoiler:

Seriously, congratulations. Hope it'll be a fast recovery. I hear they fast track kids, too, in your system.

We were lucky because our private health fund waived the excess because of his age so we could go in as private patients. While Australia has socialised healthcare going in as a private patient means everyone bends over backwards and treats you like royalty because not only does it mean that the insurance picks up the bill instead of the government but the government gives the hospital additional funding over and above the costs of the procedure for luring in a private patient. First time we've gone in private for anything and it is a totally different experience.

He came through the surgery fine, and they've now removed the breathing tube and a lot of the wires. He's been active, looking around and seems to be breathing easier than he was prior to the op, split sternum and all.

Er, I mean, we must be wary of the upstart; but I'm sure we can lure him to the pineapple side.

Aww that poor kid. Glad everything went well!

Great news!

Really glad to hear everything went okay.

Woot! Glad to hear everything is going well!

What a relief. I was seriously on pins and needles waiting for word - I can't imagine what you and your wife were going through. SO glad to hear it went well and the little one is recovering.

Many happy healing thoughts to him!

Oh man, I'm so glad to hear this. We had my son's 6 month-old checkup this morning and I was thinking hard about you all. I can't lie: it broke me down to see that picture, but I'm glad to hear things are going as well as they could. Best wishes moving forward.

I'm thrilled to hear that everything went so well. The amazing recuperative powers of the very young should hopefully mean that life goes back to normal faster than you can believe.
