We'll try to nail down a date, if not a location, soon.

Dates are also forthcoming (once decided!).

So you are providing escorts?

Gogo Detroit!!

I wonder if we can shoot Riot an email to get their LAN version of the game? it probably has 0 IP rewards for using it, but I can live with that if it means not having to deal with their connection or a hotel's connection.

I tried that last year. To their credit, their support people actually talked to me, but I basically got an, "Uh, no."

I get the impression they only let that version out when a Riot employee is present.

I'm coming. But I swear to Christmas, if any of you gets me sick again I will punch a foo.

Any interest in getting Brint & The Gang (Trademarked, LLC, Copyright 2012 by Brint) back together again? Just no more working for gypsies! Or strange women bleeding on our floors (did we ever figure out how she lock-picked the door while being pursued by werewolves...? hmmmm)

Also, "I'm in". Duh.

And I'm out for revenge against the evil Chabuda/Hox Harkonnen! Forget the apple butter, let's harvest some spice!

As long as it's not the first weekend in October, I'm in.

Just to solve these scheduling headaches, I setup a Doodle poll to find out what days are best. Here's the link...

Oily, can you add that to the top post? If you want..

Traditionally, PenguinCon Prime falls on International GWJ Day, which is still being determined by the GWJ overlords. The weekend that we are expecting (NOT AN ANNOUNCEMENT, JUST A GUESS) is October 19-21.

Is Chicago still being considered a possible location?

Nope. I'm sure there will be a Chicago one with Wordy and pals, though.

Internet would be nice, but not even close to a top priority for me. In person LAN League of Legends is 100 times better than online, and I would certainly join in on this in a heartbeat, but SC2 and LoL are games I can already play with cool people whever I want.

I'm much more interested in meeting everyone, playing serious board games, maybe a one shot pnp rpg, playing Cranium type board games, drinking for great justice, being the youngest guy there (I think?), and cuddling with at least one GWJer. Real talk.

Fed is much younger than you. He's like 12.

Oh baby.

A low blow, sir.

Don't worry, it still goes over your head.

Hopefully Dunn can make it so he can talk you into helping the gypsies and then manage to give himself snow blindness.

Yes, Chabuda/Hox must be crushed, unless he is helping me control the spice again...

I like your style Dave.

My Blitz play may or may not be deeply psychologically rooted.

I can promise you we can do sooo much better than Cranium. Mike had this game about movies that I basically won by being drunker and shoutier than everyone else. Please note Boogle was playing too, so that was an accomplishment on both fronts.

IT DEVIATED FROM THE ORIGINAL TEXT

Does DnD go on during this? I now have a ton of DnD miniatures, a big wet erase double sided map and a bunch of dice. The more I look at this thread and think about it the more I want to drive. And maybe do some partial sponsor for the Artemis project (ie buy some needed hardware.)

How intense will carpooling be?

I'm in NC and could conceivably link up with someone from the southeast area at a mid way point to make it the rest of the way to Ohio together.

I'm thinking about making a google document and throwing it out there just to gauge interest. This could also double as the room mate finder thing.

A couple things on this while I have a second:

1.) DnD can certainly happen. Zenke ran a short Dragon Age game at minpencon this year. If someone wants to run something, they do so with my blessing. However, what we normally find is that we don't have time to participate in something like that, at least in the tradition 6-8 hour session. I will say this, though, I always have my dice on hand if it comes to some pen and paper stuff =)

2.) It is my hope that we'll get the Artemis people on site again so we won't actually need to supply our own stuff. Once we have a date set, we can confirm that.

This is exactly what we do every time we have one of these. I'll make one once we have a date set.

Sounds good, if you need another person to help out let me know. I am a logistics professional after all. :J

Your a professional?!?
Where in NC are you, it might not be a big detour for me. I am in Florida the furthest southeast in the US (in terms of driving).

Tagged, won't miss it.

I like games.

Not for this year.

Can't wait to get bring my head to the con - it's bigger, it's badder and it's balder. Shine on.

What is Pencon?

Oily, the sooner the better with dates.

Oily is a mere puppet this year. He's like the rain man, he'll take credit for when it rains, but there are other forces at work here. Dark forces.
