When: October 26th through the 28th
Where: Here
What: Games, most like!

PUT THIS NUMBER IN YOUR PHONE IF YOU'RE DRIVING (and get lost): (740) 596-2606

REGISTRATION

CAR POOL DOC

Housing and House teams.

Registration is now live!

Some things to keep in mind:
1.) Room space is first come, first serve. We will have a lot of people this year and we risk spilling out into the hallways because of high demand. Be prepared to double/triple up in beds and be prepared to bring air mattresses and sleeping bags. Maybe tents! Registration does not guarantee you a bed, that's something you'll need to work out with your roommates.
2.) To compensate for that, please fill out the roommate preference section of the registration form. We will do our best to put you with who you want.
3.) Speaking of doing out best, if you rented a room for Thursday and Sunday through the castle, we'll TRY and keep you in that room.
4.) If you require a private space, please shoot me a PM and we'll try to come up with an arrangement.

Optional Meal Ticket Info:

Friday will be a buffet-style meal with 3 entrees (I'll have to double check)
Saturday is a hot lunch (details pending)
Sunday is a ham sandwich and a bunch of other things. We went with a boxed lunch for Sunday in case people needed to drive, they can take it with them.

Home Brewing Contest

Please PM me if you're planning on participating.

Also, Event planning sheet

NEW THINGS:

Thing the First: I shall be running a short 2.5-3 hour play test of DnDNext Saturday morning during and after breakfast. Characters will be pre-generated but they should still be fairly unique. How? Well...

Thing the Second: Contest! Not just any contest, a role-play...ee (?) contest. Anyway, please PM me your character ideas. I'm going to need a name, race, class, and a hook. For instance:

Doctor Doak, the doctor of Doak.
Dwarf
Cleric
The good doctor is neither good, nor a doctor and hails from the town of Doak. Despite being a cleric, he doesn't worship an accepted deity. He insists that he follows something called Psy-ince that grants him great power and his cleric spells all work yet he denies that this is a deity. Further, he insists that it grants him more power the more he denies other deities. The one hitch of the religion is that it requires constant study. Doak was take time out of each day to further his devotions.

That's pretty much it. Don't worry about class or race names being the traditional ones, we can skew the character towards a traditional class while keeping a different name (though to keep things simple, I'd appreciate it).

Now, for prizes: There will be some. I don't know what yet but if I pick one of your characters, there will be a prize.

I have 5 player spots open. Please PM me if you're interested and I'll choose 5 people at random.

The Third Thing: Sadly, Krev can't make it this year (again). School comes first and we're going to pretend to be understanding on that. He did, however, already buy an admission ticket and a food ticket and he doesn't want his money back! Well, that's fine, I'll take your money, Krev. However, it seems like I have a few extra tickets on hand so I'd like to introduce the Krev is Super Awesome so Someone Else Gets to Go to Pencon in his Stead Scholarship fund.

Yes, the KiSAsSEGtGtPihSSf is now available. If you haven't purchased a ticket yet and would like to, well, not pay for one and still go, please PM me. I'm going to cut out the haiku portion. I'll make a decision on 9-21 as to who gets the ticket, so get those PMs to me.

Are you this year's KisAss? Try your luck!

That sounds amazing! How can a guy not be excited about... those things we're going to do! All of them!

But no really I'm in.

Hmm. Tagged for sure, but I might have to stick with Doc & Missy's place for IGWJD again.

I may make beer for this one!

You're ours, now.

I am going to attempt to attend this, my first time meeting you people in person... Scary. What do I need to bring? Should I drive or fly? Like do I need to bring my pc or my board games or just myself? Will there be food near or at the decided upon location? I need to schedule my days off and if I am driving I will need a whole week for this.

I'm hoping to make it this year.

I'll tell you this - if Teneman gets RavenCon/PenguinCon as a combo act at the castle, that gets my wife bought in, so there'll be no keeping us away

Drive or fly is up to you. People come in from all directions and make arrangements for carpooling though, so that may be an option.

What you bring depends on how much space you have to bring things. PC LAN happened last year, but by no means did everyone bring one. There will be more board games there than people to play them. I wouldn't worry about that. Watch this space for announcements on that and more.

Don't worry about food, we'll figure it out later. If we're in a remote place we'll arrange for food. If we're near food, people usually get their own/make runs etc.

Dates are also forthcoming (once decided!).

do you think the dates decision process will happen within this month or next? The earlier I can lock down the dates with work the better. well I could rent an SUV and drive it from orlando,fl all the way up and offer shotgun and back seats carpool for anyone on the way up/down for the price of gas/riders (so if just one person we split, if 3 only a quarter of the price!). I have been thinking of buying a SUV so I might do that instead of renting. I would love to bring my PC and LAN with you all, maybe even do an in house 5v5 LOL with live spectating and streaming! Let me know if you guys need hardware, I have a few hundred feet of CAT Ve and some routers and switches.

I am in. And have an OKC friend in. Gimme dates and lets see if we can pick up SallyNasty on the way.
(I am contemplating increasing my drive time by 6hr if we do LAN.)

Couple of things:

-Last year we tried playing LOL and Starcraft 2, but couldn't due to hotel internet. Both games lack LAN options
-Last year had locked dates at least four months ahead of time, IIRC
-We had plenty of CAT last year. We were making cables as we saw fit.

I wish I could speak more to this year's arrangements.

EDIT:

Am I the only one that reads Boogle's mentions of OKC as "OKCupid"?

Basically things this year are still TBD on most/all fronts. Just get indiscriminately hyped up for now, everyone.

I am in. I will also plan on bringing beer again.
Along with others, looking at prospective dates sooner rather than later would be appreciated.

I will donate an unessecary amount of money, and coerce the community to follow my lead, if money's the issue, to make this problem disappear.

Or I'll just bring liquor and board games. :W

WOO WOO WOO! INDISCRIMINATE HYPE!

I for one, am desperately hoping for working internets and some Starcraft 2 and other online game fun.

I will try to be there . That is assuming im not homeless /a trainhopping hobo by then

Gotta be plenty of train yards in Ohio.

Also i hear there's this new thing called the internet going around. Maybe we could try having some of that

Nothing is solidly decided yet. I haven't been whipping the staff into action nearly as much as I was last year, either. That will change in the next month, because we're running out of time, and something needs to get done. Mainly, I need to find us a place to be.

Guaranteeing solid internet is something that we simply cannot do at this point.

With PAX Prime being sold out before I had even made my mind up about a plane ticket and all that jazz, this is looking like a great idea. If it happens to be in a castle, there just isn't a way I can say no.

...aaannnddd I'm in!

We'll try to nail down a date, if not a location, soon.

So you are providing escorts?

It might not last long, but if all goes to plan, there will once again be fudge. That's all I'm sayin'.

In a parallel universe, free of a wife, three kids, and graduate school, I'm giddy with anticipation to travel for this.

In this universe, I'll jealously watch from the sidelines yet again, and will keep an eye on this thread to see how it all plays out!

I wonder if we can shoot Riot an email to get their LAN version of the game? it probably has 0 IP rewards for using it, but I can live with that if it means not having to deal with their connection or a hotel's connection.

tried it last year. we need more industry friends.

Not 10-20, please not 10-20... any weekend but 10-20. I am sorry to say it but apple butter wins... everytime even though I don't want it to.

I tried that last year. To their credit, their support people actually talked to me, but I basically got an, "Uh, no."
