Goodjer Podcasters Unite!

Thanks! And I will now publicly berate myself for not posting our description. Derp.

It's called Game Out Loud, which is a general gaming podcast, but we try to avoid slogging through news unless it's really big. Generally, we spend the first half talking about what we've been playing, followed by a game-related topic that we think is interesting. Pretty standard format.

Casts usually run 45 min (almost never over an hour) and we post them every Tues.

The podcast where Jordan, Rob, and Colin discuss everything gaming...loudly.

From PC games, to console games, to handhelds, and everything else out there, we cover it all with our biting wit, intimidating intelligence, and astounding humility.

Also, we ARE mildly "explicit." F-bombs are rare, but do occur.

Not pimped the PixelCast in a while, but as stated in the Adventure thread, the new episode primarily consists of an interview with Tim Schafer concerning the making of Grim Fandango.

By the way, we haven't put out Nation of Gamers for a while... our new General Gaming show is called Core Elements.. http://ce.deadworkers.com

Spencer and I interview game developers and we release on Thursdays.

I need to go through and take a listen to all the Goodjer casts- glad this keeps gettign bumped.

OP updated - I swapped out Nation of Gamers and popped in Core Elements. Thanks for the update Wes!

I'm not impartial (guess I could just say I am partial), but did get feedback that this week's Principled Uncertainty had a nice flow. If there is interest, here's the direct link: http://principleduncertainty.libsyn....

Some pretty cool news: My friend and I just got word that we're going to be hosting a panel on podcasting and social media at Killer Nashville, a mystery/thriller writer's conference here in Tennessee. Not only that, but they're going to let us record an episode of our podcast live at the conference. I'm pretty damn stoked.

Trichy - really liking the podcast so far, as getting a source of information for new books to read has proven to be difficult for me. One request though - could you even out the volume a bit more? I listen to podcasts when travelling and while it's relatively easy to hear what you are saying, I have to strain quite a bit to hear what Clyde and the guests have to say.

I'm sure some of this is due to recording live/on the road in recent episodes, but this problem was present even in ep. 85 which is where I started listening from.

So I think we've finally found our thing. We're recording weekly now, about 25-35 minute episodes. If you guys have listened before, the show has changed A LOT. It's a comedy dating show that revolves around OkCupid. Please please please listen. Also, PLEASE START WITH SEASON 3. Only go back to seasons 1 and 2 if you really like season 3 and want more. There are some good moments, but the show has come a long way in terms of audio and content quality. Check out the latest episode, I think you guys will really really like it:

It's just a quick comedy show so anyone can listen. Please let me know what you think!

We've got a new feed and a new host (bagofgames.com). Still the same three schmucks talking about gaming though.

Going to go ahead and plug this again. Instead of simply being terrible at finding girlfriends on the internet, myself and three friends have teamed up to record our efforts in this weekly podcast. We pick a new girl every episode and do our best to win their love. We try to switch it up and do different segments to keep things interesting. Here's one where we put our friend John on trial, and force him to defend their potential relationship:

Anyone get a chance to check it out yet? They're pretty short, 20 minutes or so.

Sounds like an odd idea- bump to help me remember to check this out.

If you do let me know what you think! Always looking for some feedback!

Edit: So got a new one this week:

In this episode, Alan pretend to be future me, and I am forced to go on a date with him as he attempts to give me a taste of my own medicine. Needless to say, he wasn't super forgiving. Let me know if anyone get's a chance to check it out. Feedback is welcome, even if it's harsh!

I usually don't try and promote particular episodes... but I got to interview Mike Rugnetta of PBS Idea Channel this week, and I have a man-crush on him, so... I'm sharing it.

I liked the format. I'm not sure if it'd feel fresh on a regular consistent basis- but I like the banter and rapport between you all. I added this to my regular rotation, though I'm so behind on a few shows that who knows what that even means anymore.

Thanks for listening and giving some feedback! We try to change up the format as much as possible every episode (At least once we got past episode 3), so I'd be curious if it's actually working or if it all just sounds the same. I'll keep that in mind going forward. Thanks again!

I just finished the Zach Funk interview. The sound needs work, and I know it'll improve in the future, but this is really awesome.

I do one called Downloathable Content, though it basically updates when I feel like doing a podcast rather than trying to do it regularly. I don't expect it to get much appeal.

I think fellow GWJer Mystic Violet may be a more frequent guest from here on as I like having her around, but typically I just grab whoever I like talking to that is freely available.

Next weekend, my co-host and I are recording our 100th episode of The Library Police. We're also celebrating at a bar somewhere. Nashville Goodjers are welcome to attend when we figure out where.

Congrats! Looking forward to hearing the live show - just saw the pictures on the facebook page. Also waiting for the insanity of episode 100 to die down so I can mail you and Josh about a couple of book series I'd like to hear your thoughts on.
