I'd like to try to get this running on my wife's Kindle Fire, but I'm a noob with it. Are there easy instructions on exactly what to do? My google fu is weak today.

Super easy. Look for a PM.

What the hell, I`ll plug Resonance, coming out in May. Dave Gilbert is publishing it, xiigames developing. We got rockpapershotgunned recently. I was contracted to do all the backgrounds art so.. yah, shameless plug.

Very cool, I just saw Indiegames post one of the designer's vlogs a month or so ago.

There is also a SCUMMVM port to android which I tried with DotT and Monkey Island, both of which worked pretty well. This was also on my Fire.

Did they finally release the SCUMMVM post to Google Play?

I got it from the official SCUMMVM page, so I'm not sure.

Yep it is in Google Play and is now compatible with devices newer then 2.1. I am going to try it out tonight. I have been wanting to play through DOTT because I missed it when I was young but haven't been able to sit at my PC much since the baby was born last year.

I've done a little searching, and have come to the realise that nobody here seems to have yet mentioned that The Two Guys From Andromeda are back together. Not on a new Space Quest, directly - that would likely involve paying Activision's parent way-too-much-money - but I welcome the news nonetheless.

Also, it's somewhat refreshing (already!) they they don't appear to be running any kind of kickstarter. Not sure how they're funding this, but if following them on Twitter somehow helps then. well, you should get with it and follow them on Twitter!

Cool news. I think the RPS interview with Al Lowe and the head of Replay had something about a falling out between the two (which is why Josh Mandel worked on SQ6) so that's great to see they patched things up.

The Dream Machine finally comes out on Friday on Steam. Here's a launch trailer:

Well, this looks rather charming...

Demo here.

Correction - after playing the demo, I now upgrade this to completely charming. There's some great animation at work in there.

Nice! I never did get around to looking at that - be grabbing it Friday methinks.

2 Guys from Andromeda Kickstarter is up

Featuring some exquisite picks for voice actors!

Quest for Glory series is now on GOG. Unlike the previous Sierra collections they put both versions of the first game in the package.

Nice! I'd always heard they were really good but I never managed to track down any of them.

Finally! Dysplastic will be pleased.

These are better than Police Quest and Space Quest. IMO only King's Quest was better in the glory days of Sierra, but an argument could be made for the QfG series ranking #1. You should go play these right away if you never have.

Feh. Other than Gabriel Knight, QFG was the tops from Sierra.

Hey! Who want's to hear Tim Schafer talk about making Grim Fandango? You do, that's who!

(Yeah, this is pretty shameless self-promotion, but the content is what it claims to be)

Unfortunate double post.

It continues to break my heart that the Quest for Glory series isn't available on Steam or GOG. Shame.

It only took four months from me Female Doggoing about it, that's not too bad.

Agreed. QfG was ahead of its time. I've been pecking away at a thief playthrough of the first game in the series after getting it from Abandonia but I will definitely be picking this bundle up.

Also, I understand it's a matter of taste, but I always enjoyed the QfG games far more than the King's Quest series.

Were you able to transfer your save from the VGA version of QFG1 into QFG2? I remember that being a problem in the past.

What I've observed is that the hierarchy is QfG > KQ = SQ > Rest of the Sierra catalog. Which is to say, SQ vs. KQ are pretty much a toss up and depend on personal preference.

Although Richard Cobbett's crapshoot on Robin Hood was quite interesting given the way the game had a number of possible endings and it was doing the BioWare thing of decision tracking throughout the game. They were

@Shoptroll that's true of the Quest games, but Gabriel Knight was first tier. Also, I've heard good things about the Laura Bow games, but never played them

I jumped so hard on that GoG bundle for QfG that I'm pretty sure I nearly got whiplash. Enough to completely forget about posting the news here. I already own the anthology CD and the fully narrated version of QfG4 but this is the chance to get them digitally and in a running state that works well on modern computers. Especially QfG2 which I never finished.

QfG is my favorite from Serria, with PQ coming in 2nd and SQ and LLL being a distant 3rd and 4th. I'm surprised that there isn't more love for PQ here.

Not sure if it was mentioned earlier in this thread, but this site has updated installers that will install/configure DOSBox and any patches that are needed to run older Sierra games.

I haven't gotten that far yet, but I am playing the VGA version of QFG1.

Bumping this because I feel the kickstarter is going a little slow.

Perhaps I shouldn't be surprised, I feel that the kickstarter wagon might break, if anything, because everyone is over-eagerly jumping on it for fear of missing it before it breaks. With Double Fine, Leisure Suit Larry and Jane Jenson's studio already funded (to say nothing of what Telltale and some other, smaller devs have been doing these past few years), it feels less like a novel revival and more like saturation already. I'll probably end up putting in a few dollars to the Two Guys project, but I'd likely consider donating more in the theoretical world where they waited it out for another year :/

For now, I've still not finished Botanicula.

Looks like 'Anna' has been delayed a couple of weeks (was due for release tommorrow) but I'm REALLY liking the look of this (especially the soundtrack).

I'm a sucker for a good haunted house game.

Nice

Huh, I follow indie games a good deal, but never heard of Anna. Looks good, but haunting games are some of the hardest to pull off well. Hopefully the reviews are good.

You know what this reminds me of? Both Amber: Journeys Beyond and Rhiannon: Curse of the Four Branches. Both enjoyable haunted house games. You should really play them, if you haven't. The latter has a few warts due to being the team's first game, but is still quite good IMO. Also, it's only $3 if you use the coupon Big Fish is showing in that link, so you really have no excuse, do you?

Tex Murphy kickstarter is now up.

With the SpaceVenture KS not exactly skyrocketing to their goal, I'm starting to wonder if there's some element of fatigue starting to set in among the adventure game fans. Maybe not at the lower tier levels, but this is what.... the 5th or 6th adventure game KS in the last two months? I can't see people going above the call for each of these projects without a few paychecks in between...

Resonance has a June 19 release date and is available for pre-order at GOG for $9.

Bundle in a Box indie game bundle sale. Here's the catch - it's all adventure games.
