WoW 5.0 - Mists of Pandaria

I dont know how impressed I am with with MOP. Seeing the mounts, gear, and story build up. Its not really something that really grabs me. I think ill continue to play my mage and rogue in my hopes to build the best possible character. Just like DK's, there are going to be far too many of them. I'll pass for now.

I took a look at the beta, but it's pointless right now. Gave up on a quest because there were a good fifty or so pandaren standing around a clickable objective spamming an interact command. Tried doing the same myself by turning it into a macro button, but no dice. Really looking forward to it - I came back for this expansion - but at the moment I think it might be best to wait. Also don't want to spoil the whole monk thing for myself, as I'll just have to do it again (or most of it, at least) at release, afaik.

All these complaints about too many people. How many more people did they invite into the beta? When I rolled my first 2 monks, I was lucky to see 3 other pandas out in the world at all. It felt dead...

Any idea when they are going to add the 85+ stuff to the beta? Or is this going to be like the D3 "beta" and just be a preview?

Cheetz, you should be able to do 85+ stuff now already. They've opened it up through 87. Did you transfer any of your guys over with the Beta Copy tool?

Edit: Looks like if you had problems with copying/creating characters, this might be why.

Head to MMO champion for:

First looks at Pet Battle.
Looks at some of the challenge dungeon armor.
A ton of talent and spell updates to the classes.

I already discussed this with some guildies, but I'm jumping back from my Monk plan because they've made the Priest significantly less dumb. In some awesome ways. Can't way to keep playing Hackwyrth in 5.0.

Stuff like:

Divine Insight Discipline and Holy bonuses have been reworked. Discipline - When you cast Spirit Shell, there is a 40% chance your next Power Word: Shield will both ignore and not cause the Weakened Soul effect. Holy - When you cast Greater Heal, there is a 40% chance your next Prayer of Mending will not trigger its cooldown, and will jump to each target instantly.

and

Chakra: Chastise now Increases the damage done by your Shadow and Holy spells by 15%, grants a 10% chance for Smite to reset the cooldown of Holy Word: Chastise, reduces the mana cost of Smite and Holy Fire by 75%, and transforms your Holy Word spell back into Holy Word: Chastise.

So cool.

Also: Reap?

Rogue - Major Glyphs
Glyph of Fan of Knives - Renamed Deadly Momentum. When you land a killing blow on an opponent that yields experience or honor, your Slice and Dice and Recuperate abilities are refreshed to their original duration.

Wow.

Wow.

Used to be a talent at the beginning of the assassination tree, good for leveling, not much else.

I never knew you could transfer over toons.... I will have to check it out now... im dumb... I could have been playing it for 3 months now? WTF!

Maybe rogueing is totally different now than when I did it, but keeping SnD up automagically on mob death sounds great for trash pulls.

The key will be making sure to get the killing blow on the mob(s) to activate the refresh.

Ah. Yessss. Never mind me, I'll be over here making love to Healbot like a good priest.

MMO Champ has the new login screen music!

I always get pumped for this, to see how they've done a variation on the theme. It's pretty neat, with a shout out to the original-original login music at about :30. The truly new panda-style get started right around 1:20.

Wow, that is really good.

I don't know if this the right place for me to beg, but does anyone have a scroll of resurrection invite?

If you haven't picked one up already, just PM me your email address and I can hook you up.

There is no macro command to interact with objects. The macro engine doesn't recognize it so it gets spammed to /say. Someone started this so that everyone would do that and they'd be free to right-click the banner.

The 'trick' with so many players around is to get close, zoom the camera in at an angle and click.

Same here, if anyone needs one, let me know (BHA).

Bringing Achievements to the Account Level

Looks like MoP will eliminate having to farm achievements on each character -- they'll be (mostly) shared across all characters on an account.

Panda(ren) dances!

Courtesy of MMO Champion:

The male Pandaren dance is way better than the female's, which is a shame because I like the model and style of the female better. Oh well.

Agree

Just an FYI. There is a lot of fake beta invite phishing spam going on right now.

Hover over those embeded links before clicking them. While they go to great lengths to make the email look legit, the urls contained are obviously fake.

I guess its just better as a rule of thumb that if you get one of these, to login to your battlenet account rather than clicking on any links in your email.

Yeah, I've gotten a couple of those phishing emails and they look very legit. They end up in my inbox too, even though hundreds of similar WoW phishing emails get caught by my spam detection.

Anyone else not really sure they like the new talent system?
I put a couple nights on a pregened 85 and I am not entirely sure that this is a change for the positive but honestly the verdict is still out.

I'm always dumb on pop culture: what are these from?

I recognized just about all of the older dances, but I have zero clue about these.

My elite Googling skills led me to...

Male is based on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqI6Z...

Female is based on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7cbD...

Edit: Might want to turn the volume down or something for the second one if you're in a work environment... not dirty or anything... just hyper-saccharine anime.

Wow. I guess the male one was inevitable, eh?

The female model creeps me out. The head is awkwardly large. It looks like a person in a panda suit.

As opposed to it looking like a real anthropomorphic panda?

That was damned funny.
