Firefly - Love it!

I recorded "Our Mrs. Reynolds," for two obvious reasons (ahem), plus "Out of Gas" and "Objects in Space." I will admit, when the opening credits played and I heard the lines, "find a crew, find a job, keep flying," my eyes got a tad watery. Okay I cried like a schoolgirl with a skinned knee. Don't tell anyone.

Sunday night is going to be good. Game of Thrones will cap it off nicely.

Kaylee is yoked!

Her head is too small. Good thought, though.

It fits the style, though. Here's the original:

My mind and penis just exploded from all the awesome in that one picture.

Yes, they can even have adverse effects on a homosexual man. They're THAT impressive.

I just wonder if NPH is listening.

Sure he is, he knows he is the envy of straight men everywhere. Same goes for gay men too.

I'm surprised that image haven't made the rounds here before. I'm sure it has...oh well guess I'll have to look through all the images here to find it....

I'm sure it has been said somewhere in the green pastures of the Internet, but the success of The Avengers means the Firefly universe could get another...

No matter what it does for Firefly, I'm glad Joss was able to prove himself that way. The man's brilliant, and Fox is very stupid.

He seems a little conflicted about it actually. He clearly loves the Firefly Universe and would like to go back to it. But he's also mindful of the careers that the stars from the show, most of whom are also his friends, now have and doesn't want to disrupt them.

Perhaps he can come up with a new set of stories with a new crew and cast. But that's a tricky venture. One that didn't work for another beloved Sci-Fi series: Babylon 5 and Crusade.

Wow, that link says that Avengers may hit a billion dollars by Sunday. Damn.

That was a hellaciously expensive movie -- $220 million. After everyone gets their cuts, they may only just be getting profitable now. From what happened at Disney after John Carter didn't do well, someone at Paramount probably bet his career on Joss.

Turns out, that's a good bet.

JP Morgan is now wishing they hadn't bet against it.

I think there are a lot of us hoping that this success will mean something for Firefly. I think it's clear that he wants to return to it. I don't think many of the cast are doing something bigger than a Firefly reboot, with the exception of Castle, which will likely end in the next couple years.

Assuming Whedon is directing Avengers 2, why not plan to start work on the next Firefly project right after that? Fillion should be free, Baccarin should be done with Homeland...hey, I can dream!

Just let it die. It had a good run, why would you want to risk ruining that? Honestly, I feel the same way about Farscape - it had its run, it had its time - let it continue in other media, and in our hearts. Maybe in another time, with different actors, new stories can be told in the universe, but it will never be the same as it was before.

Fourteen episodes is a good run??

The only thing I see that might have a chance of "ruining" things is the fact that, by the time new episodes could be filmed, the cast would be 11 or 12 years older and would appear that way on camera, even with Hollywood magic.

Fourteen episodes, a movie, countless other media tie-ins.. yeah, I'd say that's a better run than most other television-based IPs.

No, but the 14 episodes it did have were good, and we got a movie to pretty much close off the story line. I would love to see a second movie, or even an animated series, but a lot of the main journey ended with Serenity: Mal got his desire for freedom justified, River got her madness explained, and able to be dealt with, Book and Wash are gone, Zooey and Simon and Jayne and Kaylee are likely to be along for the ride. I would like to see some filler between the show and the movie: I would miss Wash too much if they go forward with the story.

Ask the Young Ones and Fawlty Towers.
