[trailer] Expendables 2 Holy Crap

Wow. ....did I say wow?

Yeah. Wow.

/action genre

Reuniting these actors is more of a feat than the Avengers. It only needs Wesley Snipes, but I hear he still needs to pay his taxes. Hopefully by Expendables 3?

Sylvester Stallone is becoming frightening, and probably not how he intends.

Oh, God. I'm reminded of Clint Eastwood's line about old gummers in Space Cowboys. Talk about an old-school rogue's gallery.

I think watching the behind-the-scenes stuff about getting that whole gang in one place is going to be the most fascinating part of the film.

What are you talking about? The just went to the Bishops buffet around 4pm and all the guys were there.

Did someone find that script I wrote in 7th grade? Find that person so I can hug him.

FADE IN:

EXT. SOME DUSTY PLACE WITH BAD GUYS - DAY

A bunch of bad guys have guns.

ANGLE - PLANE FULL OF AWESOME DUDES

Stallone: Let's go kick some ass.

EXPLOSIONS AND ASS KICKING FOR 120 MINUTES

FADE OUT

My god, it's like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the movie. What I can't believe is that somehow, this looks LESS idiotic than the new GI Joe movie.

I demand bloated Steven Seagal to be in this

I was about to say "It can't be a proper action movie without...." and then Chuck Norris showed up. So it is one.

I watched the first one on a 7 hour flight, back-to-back with RED (criminally underrated IMO) and Unstoppable. Didn't look up until the stewardesses announced we were starting to prepare to land.

I dunno, I thought the first one was really dull and didn't live up to its potential. Call me cautiously optimistic.

This looks awesome and makes me wonder why I have yet to watch the first one.

Looks like something that would be advertised on a Grand Theft Auto radio station.

Ha! That's spot on. "Every actor in every action movie you've ever seen in one place blowing sh*t the f*ck up!"

And they provided, in about two sentences, the only plot we need. Something about 5 tons of plutonium.

I thought the first was pretty disappointing and didn't really enjoy it.

I can't imagine not seeing this movie.

Count me in. For the DVD at least.

Looks hilarious. In.

I'm probably going to see that with my best friend the moment it comes out. We will, obviously, be leaving our brains at home.

The movie was going to be awesome but then they added Chuck f*cking Norris. Are you kidding me? Sooo good.

My mind = blown.

This could be the best movie ever made if it had Christopher Walken!

The first one had it's moments, but was surprisingly slower paced than expected. This one looks to have rectified that issue.

I didn't notice until the 2nd viewing but I loled when the battering ram is flipped out and they had painted "Knock, knock" on the side of it.

I also look forward to the 101 new Chuck Norris jokes that scenes from this movie will spawn. I'm a little saddened that Mr. T isn't also making an appearance. And that Norris and Mr. T don't have a 1-on-1 battle to finally sort things out.

I secretly hope that Jack Bauer might make a brief cameo.

I actually kinda liked the first movie.

Oh, sure, it's no Kagemusha, but it the premise was "watch a hip-hop album's worth of action star has beens blow crap up for two hours", and it delivered on that just fine.

I was surprised there was even going to be a second.

They did that well on DVDs, On Demand, and Netflix?

No matter. They have another paper thin plot, even more has beens, Thor's brother, and Yu Nan. Day one rental!

BTW, to keep with the theme, shouldn't Michelle Yeoh have been cast as the martial arts diva?

This looks like Jagged Alliance: Back in Action the movie after the player finds the Dahonko Flakes Special Edition.

Jean Claude Van Dammit ... looks like the man can still kick. Didn't see the first one and judging by the reactions to it I'm not holding out for this one to be any better. Will still keep an ear out for how it is received as I haven't seen a good action flick in a while.

According to Box Office Mojo it cost $80 million to make and brought in $274 million so pretty good I think.

I watched and all I could say was "Jesus Christ".

Then I realized he is probably the only one not in the cast. But I am sure he's making a cameo.

It is all of the action movies of my childhood and adolescence rolled into one.

Don't care if the plot is non-existent.

Spoiler:

Jesus supplied the plutonium.

See if The Raid is playing near you. I just came back from watching it, and it was pretty frickin' great.

I didn't care that much for The Expendables. It was kind of the Ocean's sequels of action movies; more a guestlist than a movie, and the sequel looks like it's following suit.
