Trials Evolution: whoaw

I haven't done any of the MP stuff yet, some of it looks pretty cool.

Man, so much more fun than the original. Tagging for now, and I have the same 2-3 names above me every time. Damn you Mannish.

Don't look at me, I noticed after a several day break that Armchair had gone through and beaten a large majority of my times by a second.

Hehe, thanks to ME3 I was late to the party and you guys gave me a good sense of what I had to aim for. There are still quite a few tracks where you and a couple others have great times and I don't know how your little dots manage to keep your momentum. I will have to improve my technique!

My main thing I want to do now is go do all the tracks hard and below without faults. Last night I played a few minutes of Castle Crashers or whatever it's called. I got a really good time (beat your gold time by a couple of seconds IIRC), but I got greedy and tried for the full jump completely over the bridge at the end, a jump I can only make on rare occasions. So even though I had a good time, I had one stupid fault

Might have even platinumed it with no faults.

I know the feeling, I tried to make that jump quite a few times killing a bunch of great runs. What bike were you using?

I have faultless runs on all the tracks up through Castle Crashers but I'm thinking hard is going to be quite a different beast (I haven't played the levels yet).

The best time was the 250cc Phoenix. I tried the 450cc Scorpion, but I was losing a lot of time at the first of the level (even though I was more consistent overall).

Most tracks I use the Phoenix. The more straight line flowy tracks benefit more from the power of the Scorpion, but the farther up the difficulty the game gets, the fewer of those there are.

I haven't unlocked the Phoenix yet but was trying it out at a friends house. I certainly gets tossed around allot easier b/c of its light weight so it will take me a bit to get used to now that I'm so adjusted to the weighty 450.

It's definitely harder to be consistent on, but once you get used to it, it's able to do stuff you just can't seem to pull off on the Scorpion.

Finally gave in this morning and picked this up, and played the beginner levels. Somehow only like 5 people on my friends list are actually playing this.

I have a bunch, friend some people out of the thread

That's the plan. Although I'm typically in the middle of the pack right now. Adding more people might push me down!

I'm far to OCD for these Hard tracks. I reflexively hit the back button instead of B...

I'm on board with that. And I'm not super-competitive, so with a little effort, you could likely boost your ego a bunch while simultaneously pissing off Blind_Evil in the process.

Oi!

I managed to get gold on The Ascent (hard) via the dirtiest trick in the book: using the second bike instead of the 3rd or 4th. It's got next to no speed or agility, but it makes up for it on tracks that require a lot of climbing because of rock-solid stability.

4 medals away from unlocking the extreme difficulty courses...

No try 125cc on the Ascent!

That's an achievement.

Oh, huh.

I finished an extreme course. Fishy business. 199 faults!

It's impressive, but I think do-able with practice. 2 of those bunny hops look absolutely brutal though.

I tried for maybe 15 minutes today, then decided to play MP instead.

We should set up some private games or something. There's that achievement, and I think it'd be just lots of fun.

So I saw the other night that Ohama sent me a message about his track. Figured I'd give it a go and finish off the night. Just a little bit--and many negative emotions--later I was able to finally go to sleep.

And one for flavor.

Ya Trials HD extremes, I didnt get past the second one before I gave up. I'll be there soon.

Finished my first extreme track. It's quite a bit easier than the extremes on trials hd. I'm sure that the next ones will destroy me though.

2 down. I'll definitely try and finish them all.

Ahaha. I'm sorry man*. Hill climbs are one of my favorite hard / extreme tracks, so I figured I'd give it a shot. The best time is 2 faults and 3.5 minutes or so, just to put it in perspective

In other Trials news, I just went through Death Valley and got gold medals on all the tracks. I brreeeeezzeed through them, it was weird. I was in the Trials-ing zone tonight apparently. When you are in that zone, this game is so great. When you are not, this is the worst game ever.

*Disclaimer: I am not really sorry at all.

So is there a way to watch an instant replay of my run as soon as I finish? I don't see a button prompt to View Replay on my results menu and I remember being able to do this in Trials HD.

Sometimes after I've made 20 attempts to get a flawless run, I want to sit back and watch the fruits of my labor, you know? I understand that you can view replays of top leaderboard players, but I'm just trying to figure out how to watch my own on the track I just finished.

It's a great game and the built in Track Creator / Editor was a huge bonus. I would have killed to have tools like that as a kid. My son got more than the $15 in entertainment just building tracks for me to crash on over the weekend.

I added a bunch of people from the thread. Might have missed some people. Feel free to add me if I did.

^^ Saw it last night. I have been going back through and Golding the first few groups of tracks, finally started to take Mannish and a couple of my other friends down.

You're just trying to tempt me back.

I beat one of your hard times by almost 5 seconds, I have 0 idea how, I'm like 17000 world rank.

There is a lot of headroom in most of my hard times. I often moved on when I got to the top of my leaderboard, even when I had a dirty run.

Yeah, when I messaged you that I had beating you downhill skiing mark, I had spent a ridiculous amount of time just trying to get a gold. The one and only time I got it, I just barely eclipsed you. I was just excited because it is the only leaderboard I lead among my friends. I'm usually way down the list.

Mostly, I'm just excited to have finally managed 100 medals. Just 35 to go to have the whole game unlocked.

That one is fun. I think in Trials HD I spent nearly as much time in the skill games. I really want to spend some time with these after going father on the tracks.
