Pick up a Little Debbie for me while you're out.

If we're talking realism, shouldn't Scarlett Johansson be wearing something more suitable for combat.

You shut your dirty mouth!

He's got a point. Wearing clothes can only restrict her movement.

Her outfit, or proposed lack thereof, is itself a weapon. It distracts opponents, lowering their defenses.

Yeah, I agree.

I saw The Avengers last night at an advanced screening. I HIGHLY recommend seeing it in theaters. It was amazing. There were some genuinely funny parts that fit into the movie just right. I won't say too much but you will not be sorry spending the money to go out and see it.

Iron Man versus Thor!

I loved Thor giving the headbutt back.

For a film without much of a plot, that was great fun. I'd recommend seeing it with an audience, the laughter and shocked silences add to the film. However, maybe go for a slightly later screening, there were some noisy seven-to-twelves in mine.

So this was pretty damn excellent, and Hulk was a bit of a scene-stealer.

I'd recommend seeing the 2D version of you can, though, the 3D is pretty damn useless.

Saw this on friday with a bunch of friends on friday, and it is one of the best movie experiences I've had in a long, long time. I went to a packed theater of close to a thousand people and the mood in there was absolutely amazing. Highlights were... well, there are too many. Let's just say that this movie has a very high HSQ (Holy S**t Quotient) and if you are the least bit interested in comic books, you'll love this one.

Spoiler:

And yes, Hulk was a scene-stealer. "Puny god..." indeed Mr. Banner.

I'll just leave this here.

Haha, wow... it's funny just how blatant that is, but I probably wouldn't have noticed without the other pic highlighting it.

Indeed!

Two thumbs up from me. It's a rather long movie, but it never felt that long. Good screen chemistry among the actors, some really decent punch lines, some scenes that had the audience both laugh and cheer at the same time. (One of them involves the Hulk, and you'll know which one I'm referring to when you see it. )

I was initially a bit saddened to hear that Norton (got) dropped out of Avengers. I actually didn't like his Hulk movie that much, but it would have been nice for the sake of continuity. Or so I thought. The second Ruffalo shows up on the screen though, you'll completely forget about it. Ruffalo-Banner > Bana/Norton-Banner.

It's just really nice to see characters that were established in separate movies team up. Thanks to the previous movies Whedon didn't have to establish everyone's background, thus being able to spend more time on other things. It's still a really enjoyable movie if you haven't seen the previous ones. However, if you plan to watch it with someone who hasn't seen Iron Man, Thor, or Captain America, you better bring them up to speed. It's not like it's required to understand what's going on, but it provides some context and explains some of the relationships.

I watched the 3D version as the 2D version wasn't available anywhere. I'd say you're not going to miss out on anything by saving a few bucks and going for the 2D version if you have the choice.

I think Ruffalo works better than Norton or Bana just because of his looks. Even when he's at his most serene, calm, and logical mood, his face makes you believe that somewhere in there is a brute just waiting for the chance to get out. In short, he looks like a thug. A handsome one, I suppose, but still a thug. He'd probably make a good Bond, too.

I do miss Edward Norton in the role, but mostly because I think any movie is improved with his presence. Him and Robert Downey together would have been an actor Nirvana for me! What could have been...

But yes, Ruffalo was great in the role too, so that's a plus.

I saw it again, this time in close-to IMAX 3D.

The 3D is very poorly put together, with all of the blurring, colour loss, and discomfort one might expect, as well as not enough of the film being actually rendered in 3D to have noticeable impact.

I got a migraine (still a fun film, though).

Buggering arsebuckets, it's only showing in 3D around here =(

Oh well. Time to try out my 2D correcting glasses.

I am thinking about ducking out of work for a few hours Friday to catch a showing. I haven't done that in years!

Saw this on the weekend, thankfully my theatre had 2D and 3D showings so I didn't need to go through the crappy post-processed 3D experience.

I tend to have low expectations of superhero movies, but this was legitimately excellent. The action scenes were perfectly judged, the writing was pin-sharp, the acting solid (still unconvinced by Thor dude, but he's fine) and the comedy moments were gold.

Even the audience was good, people were there to watch the movie and enjoy the experience so there was none of the usual douchiness.

How are you guys seeing this so early? I thought the official date is this Friday.

There's usually advance screenings for big deal movies.

Launched April 26 here. I thought it was out everywhere already, but it looks like maybe America is the only place that doesn't have it outside of special screenings yet.

I wondered why there was so little chatter.

I was getting excited after all the acclaims on this thread, so I checked the local theater but didn't see it on the show listing. Oh well, Friday it is.

Tomorrow is an official Day Off here in Mexico, so I'll try to catch it. It opened last Thursday midnight 26th as well.

I think it already broke record numbers for international box office. We might be looking at a new opening record here...hope its good!

Yeah, they're doing a midnight showing on the 3rd up here in Maine. I hope to get out and see it early next week, since if I don't do it then I won't have time until next month.

Wait, what? I live in the Philippines and it's been out for like a week already. Mall of Asia practically has no other movie on the dock (and every theater is still full!).

The plot isn't compelling, and it's almost a fight from start to finish, but that's actually very true of the source material. It manages to leverage the strength of superhero comics and dials it up to 11. Love the fights; love the one-liners. It's incredible how Banner/Hulk has some of the best lines in the film. Who'da thunk?

I have my tickets for the midnight showing on Thursday. I'm trying to wait gracefully.

Soooooo ready.
